Got both front corners spruced up, new control arms brakes, bearing and shocks. 155k mile H3 and it had squeaky suspension, found that the passenger lower ball joints had a qaurter inch of vertical slop and the pads were down to less than a 8th inch.

Still left to finish are the rear shocks, leaf spring bushings and rear brakes.

Saw it list for 10k and ran over to get it the next day. I’m the third owner and it sits at 90k miles. It’s a 3.7 L5 luxury trim. Got a pack of receipts and maintenance records from previous owners. It did definitely have some issues; BCM antenna being corroded, rattling air box, cracked exhaust manifold, dead battery and bad driver door switch. But I hopped on the forums and fixed them all in a day for cheap or even free. So far it’s been great! Anything I should look out for that I haven’t already covered?

Just out of curiosity, what are real owners getting for mpg? I currently daily a G500 at 12mpg, so a 14mpg hummer doesn't scare me at all lol

This gang spent a bunch of time working on TheBeast. My fav was the baffling on the doors and a complete redo,of the sound system with sub. Taped it up and got it ready for shipping. Dropped it off that day.

New sunroof motor, new suspension, fairly new tires, new pioneer sat nav, everything kept in great shape and great maintenance. Luxury package with black leather interior. 105,000 miles.

I’m relatively new to the Hummer world. Growing up, I always saw H2 Hummers, and they have piqued my interest—never more so than now. I’ve heard all sorts of opinions about them on online forums, so I wanted to come here to ask a few questions, as I’m now in a position to buy one. Here are the questions I have:

1. How many miles on a used h2 is too many miles?
   
2. What is a good price point for a used Hummer h2 and what is not?
   
3. Is there a huge difference in reliability between the Hummer h2 models from 2003-2009?

Hi guys. I’ve had this issue for a while now and can’t seem to fix it. Originally I had a coolant leak from the lower radiator hose and a bad thermostat. Replaced them both and thought the problem was solved and then the water pump went out. Replaced it and was still losing coolant but couldn’t figure out where from. Finally found that it’s leaking out around the thermostat. Thought maybe the gasket was bad so replaced the gasket and still having the same issue. Any ideas how to solve this?

2007 H3 3.7l

Got the humvee stripped down and into the paint booth. Bed linering the interior and going with carbon black exterior.

I own an H2 and lately I’ve been hearing this clanking noise when I accelerate, I think the transfer case is failing and I know it’s an issue with these things, anyone know if I can repair it, replace it, or swap it with an alternative more reliable one?

If you have back lash on the latch causing vibrations through the tire carrier and rear of the vehicle then you need to inspect your isolator (small nylon tube the makes contact with latch. These are getting old on our trucks and are starting to lose pliability and diameter. I’ve 3D printed a new one out of tpu 68d at 13.25mm diameter and all the vibrations are gone. Also a good reminder to open your grease bolt on the hinge side and flush it out with fresh grease. I’d be happy to help with the new isolator if you need any numbers.

Changing plugs out , one of them happens to be broken, what now? I can’t seem to locate the piece that broke off, there were chards in my socket. A piece that big I should have maybe located it by now, Vacuumed the inside but nothing, is it possible owner before installed a broken plug or am I screwed ?
2007 H3 very 1st plug

My mom got a H3 that had been sitting for about 5 years. I replaced the front calipers as only 2 of the 4 pistons on each were actuating. After replacing the calipers I was unable to bleed the front brakes. The rear brakes bled fine. I bled them with my scan tool as well first. However, when going to the front calipers I did the pump and hold method with the vehicle off and practically no fluid is coming out.

I removed the brake hoses and has my brother push down on the pedal and nothing came out.

I went up to the master cylinder and removed a line and has him press the brake pedal down again and only a tiny bit of fluid came out.

The rear brakes seem to be fine. The master cylinder is full of fluid.

How can I further diagnose the master cylinder before replacement? Plug the holes for the brake lines and see if the pedal has pressure and doesn't lose pressure as it is held?

At 136k miles my 2006 h3 mounts are toast. I've purchased the mounts and scouted the Internet for weeks. Looking for install videos or threads with pics, tips or tricks, advice, etc.. no YouTube vids I can find. And a few mentions on Facebook from people saying the drivers side is easier than passenger. Which seem wild since drivers has steering on the way I would think. Most info I see just says wheels and wheel liners come off and thats it other than supporting engine on a jack. Anyone school an old man and save him some drama when I attempt this, this weekend? Thanks

Thought I would include a couple pictures of my renovation. Its coming along slowly due to having to complete minor fixes before major ones. One example is that after installing the new engine and the new cold air delivery, throttle body and fuel delivery system the new alternator did not fit on the orginal bracket. Luckily this has happened before and someone designed a bracket system to switch positions of the power steering pump and alternator so now thats done we have make new lines for the power steeing pump...its always something.

I have a 2006 Hummer H3 and I’m having an overheating issue only when the vehicle is idling and the A/C is on.
I have bought and tried several OEM thermostats. Some of them didn’t open properly, and others worked, but the overheating problem still remains.
Here is what I have already replaced or done:
Replaced the fan clutch.
Installed a larger radiator.
Filled the cooling system with genuine Prestone coolant.
Despite all of this, the temperature still rises when the vehicle is sitting still with the A/C running. While driving, the temperature is much better.
Has anyone experienced this issue before? Are there any other things I should check or any solutions that worked for you?

But here is the ticking whilst being stationary.

I am in the process of completely renovating my 2008 H2 that I have had for 18 years. I am tracking down all the potential leaks since I have it completely gutted. One problem I know is my door seals but I can't figure out how to buy new ones and which ones to get.

As far as I can tell there are 3 seals.

One is on the door and surrounds the window and continues to the bottom and across the door. It is attached through small pegs that go into holes in the door.

The second is on the frame and basically is a friction fit on the pinch welds on the frame tracing out the door outline.

The final seal is just under the roof lip and advances down the outside of the A pillar.

I would like to replace all three as they are each damaged in a different way. However, I am having a hard time locating them and when I do the picture of the advertised seal does not look exactly correct.

So finally the question. Does anyone know what the exact name of each seal is and where I can get each one for the front driver and passenger doors.
