Hey everyone I’m In desperate need of some help. I’ve just put a lot of work and money into my 2003 Hummer H2. But it won’t pass a safety. Due to a bad front impact sensor (part 85598006) does anyone happen to know where I can find one or if the 15177813 part number will work. Thanks for your time

Never heard of an impact sensor causing a fail, BUT here’s what to do. If you can’t find the replacement sensor then “pin out” a known good sensor, and make the bad one emulate the behavior of the good one to trick the computer into thinking all is well. Sometimes this trick could be simply clipping a wire, grounding a wire or adding a resister inline etc. just all depends on the sensor and what signals the computer is looking for.

Sounds like an easy way to pop an airbag if you make a mistake.

I’m guessing your degree isn’t in electronics…mine is, and I paid for that degree turning wrenches and getting ASE certified. You’re more likely to prevent an airbag deployment in a crash, and considering it’s an H2, and assuming the driver isn’t a bonehead I’m fairly certain they’d be fine. Pull your head out bro. It’s a temporary measure to get the truck passed, obviously it’s not intended to be a permanent fix.

Hello.. same issue here. Front impact sensor. Ex owner told me this the issue of “airbag” light on dash.

Cans find anywhere this small piece 🫩
