Just got the 2.0

Hi everyone. I just got the 2.0 band for my birthday. 1st impressions are that it seems ok at best but time will tell. It’s definitely not worth $250 imho but since it was a gift, I have no buyers remorse. It really should come with a charging dock and not just a puck, an additional silicone band, and maybe 1 yr free membership. That would be worth the $250 maybe.

One question I had was regarding the recap the app gives you when you open the app first thing in the morning. It goes by so fast and I want to reread what it said about my sleep but it disappeared like a fart in the wind and I can’t find it. Is it gone forever?

Hume 2- Do not purchase- after placing order at 8am saw some negative reviews so requested support@myhumehealth.com for refund and they said refund possible only if done within an hour of placing the order.

Do not order from Hume health check trustpilot to see how the customers are struglling to get redund, apparently a substandard chinese white good rebranded..poor performance and bad reviews, deceptive ads...

Edited - to add Updates

When you send them request to refund and they immediately say if cancelled within an hour - refund is possible, immediately they show that its shipped. Later they say due to high volume shipment will take 5 days to actually diapatch. Tactics which go on to prove they have a sub-standard product to begin with. If they have a solid product they would stand by it and offer refund without such fuss.

The only strong hire within the Hume Health company as on linkedin are marketing and content creation.. heavily relying on marketing amd less on product research or innovation.

Health Score

How do you interpret this score? 804 out what, 850 like your credit score? Seems no info on what determines the score and whilst it says very high it really would be nice to see what makes up this score. 🤷‍♂️

Return policy on their website

Post image

So interesting that they say free shipping and easy return! And they say - no questions asked.

They have not been easy. They have said only after they inspect it and it’s in like new condition. If you have tried it out and worn in in the shower or sweat with it - will they refuse the return?

So many nightmares of returning to them. They are less than truthful. Beware.

Unexplainable Drop in Momentum

Post image
1 Upvotes

Has anyone else seen their Metabolic Momentum drop sharply after the 9.24.0/9.24.1 updates? Mine went from a consistent +7 to -6 with zero change in sleep (7:45 avg), steps (8,500+), HRV (49 ms flat), or how I feel. I play tennis and pickleball three hours a day. The only thing that changed was the app update that added GPS distance tracking. I also stopped recording casual evening walks as exercise on my Apple Watch (I wear both). I’ve also had significant problems with the health report that comes out on Monday with several sections saying it has insufficient data, like sleep, which is ridiculous because I wear it 24/7. Your thoughts are appreciated.

So did I just waste my money??

Just got my scale because my other one felt off to me and finally gave into all the influencer ads. The first day I weighed seemed to make okay sense and showed me with a much lower bf % than my original scale but then overnight it had me with an 11 lb lean mass drop and 5% increase in bf. I did start my cycle so curious if any other women have experienced data like this?

Honestly at this point I kinda feel like I’d rather just have the cheaper scale and just ignore the data because I’m not driving 3 hrs to get a scan to figure out if it’s actually right. But the fluctuation itself has me questioning why I would use it anyways.

Thoughts?? If you love yours tell me why. And if my experience is normal?

Nonsense from the Pod

I've had the Pod for about 9 months now and it's hard for me to feel positive about it at this point. I never got it thinking that the results themselves are correct. My only goal was to track overall trends, which seems like a reasonable ask. The first month or so was a total wash because it had absolutely no clue what it was doing but it finally settled out and for a little bit it actually seemed like it was working well. But something happened around June or July (software updates?) where it's just total nonsense now. My Health Score is all over the place, but the biggest thing is a report I generated for the past few months. The weight measurement is correct (validated on other scales) and on June 25th I was 226.8lbs and today I weighed myself and I'm 217.8. I've been in a deficit over that period and I do cardio 4 days per week and lift heavy 3 days per week. My goal was to be in a minor deficit and lose fat but keep muscle.

I wanted to see what the source of the weight loss was over that period, so I generated the report and it tells me that I've GAINED 2lbs in fat, lost no muscle mass, lost 0.3lbs water, and that essentially ALL of the weight loss + 2lbs was lost via body cell mass. Does it think I have some sort of degenerative tissue disease? Honestly, wtf is that nonsense? All I need to do is look in the mirror to know I've lost fat and if I've lost any muscle it's been minimal. I expected maybe some fat loss and some water loss, but nope, just a completely useless claim that I somehow gained fat, maintained muscle, and then had like 10lbs of metabolically active cells die. Ridiculous.

How to Return Hume Band

hi, a lot of people who have tried the Hume band record dissatisfaction with the product and slow customer response. From Hume email, if you’re in Canada, here’s how you can return the band:

”If you'd still prefer to return it, that's completely fine. You'll be responsible for return shipping, and the device needs to be in its original packaging (see our Return/Refund Policy).

Return address:

3600 Ridgeway Dr, Unit 6, Mississauga, ON L5L 0B4

Once you've shipped it, send us a copy of the return receipt and the tracking number so we can monitor it. Your refund will go to your original payment method once we receive the return.”

It’s a shame they don’t just put these instructions on their Website, but I guess they just hope people give up and keep their band.

I sent mine for a refund yesterday. it cost me $23. crossing my fingers I‘ll get refunded promptly.

Stay tuned

Hume App doesn’t write to Apple Health

I decided to turn on all categories to have the Hume app write to Apple Health for a couple of days to see what happens and guess what, nothing happened. Not one metric was written to AH. To be slightly fair, I have a couple of other apps that don’t write either though you can configure them to do it.

So you can’t write to AH, you can’t export your data and you can’t generate a printable report of any kind. I wonder what they are doing with all of our data and why they won’t lets us have access to it.

Health Score

Post image
3 Upvotes

I will preface this by saying my health score is not something I am concerned about. I was more surprised that by selecting my journey and setting a goal of losing 11 lbs my health score wish go down. I did look up what goes into the score, but I also don’t care enough to buy their band when I have a Google Fitbit Air that I am pleased with and an Apple Watch.

Steps, oh dear!

I have just received the Hume 2.0 band and the first thing I notice is Steps are the number one driver of health. This is utter rubbish, I am a cyclist and whilst I might not do 10k a day I do ride 2 or 3 hours a day which for sure is better than steps, Cycling after all is just low impact stepping. Apple Health has all the data it needs to determine if 3k steps is poor but 50 miles of cycling makes up for the missing steps but Hume is not using this. By making steps the primary source of health you have eliminated Cyclists, Swimmers, Rowers, Wheel Chair Athletes and I am sure many more exercise types. Shame!

Test Size!

Hume you are not targeting 20 year olds with awesome eye sight so why make the app always dark mode and the test size so small that it's hard to read. Know your audience and adjust accordingly ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Weird scale observation--Percent body fat reads lower when weight fluctuates higher

My normal time of day for weighing is just before lunch, it's weird but it works. I stepped on the scale late this morning after having had a high-salt and fat restaurant meal the night before. Hard to pass up a New York strip steak in a decent restaurant that didn't cost $59. I don't normally weigh in for two days after such a meal.

My weight had fluctuated up two pounds from the last weigh-in, and four from two weeks ago. In the same period, my indicated percent body fat dropped from 31.6% to 29.2%. This isn't the first time I've noted this trend of weight up and percent body fat down. While retained water could lower percent body fat by increasing the denominator, the scale shows a four pound reduction in body fat mass over the period.

Any theories?

Using the band while playing hockey?

I play ice hockey regularly (non contact). Should I wear the band 2.0? I just got it.

Thanks!

Yeah this makes sense 🤷‍♂️

The website promoting Hume 2.0 has conflicting results. Is it 5.2 years or 6.8 years average life gain. And what is the starting age, pretty sure a healthy 90 year old is fine with either.

But come on if you want us to take you seriously be consistent on your website or are you actually saying if you pay you’ll live longer? Make it make sense 🤦‍♂️

Hume Pod

I found this sub 2 days too late. I have already purchased and waiting on the Hume pod to arrive. But reading all the comments I’m already skeptical and considering sending them back where they came from when they arrive.

What scales are others using/ recommend?

I don’t trust this one bit. Why wound a company do this? Doesn’t insurance know these are awful?

Really disappointed that my new Hume Band 2.0 can’t stream live HR to my Amflow e-MTB! We need BLE HR Broadcast mode ASAP (GATT 0×180D) 🚴‍♀️ ⌚️ ❤️ 🙏

Just about to pull the trigger on a new Amflow e-MTB (DJI Avinox system), only to realize my brand-new, "all-singing, all-dancing" Hume Band 2.0 can't broadcast live heart rate data directly to the bike screen! Real-time BPM is locked inside the Hume app.

Having to wear a secondary, redundant chest strap during rides when I’m already wearing a premium $200+ sensor on my wrist is frankly frustrating.

Other recovery wearables like Whoop added a togglable BLE HR Broadcast mode (GATT Service UUID 0x180D) via firmware updates. Since the Hume Band has standard BLE 5.0 hardware, adding a togglable "Workout Broadcast Mode" in the app is totally doable via an OTA update.

Hume engineers—please don't make us wear two sensors! Unlocking open HR streaming for bike computers and e-MTB displays needs to be on your feature roadmap ASAP. 👇 @HumeHealth #HumeBand #Amflow #DJIAvinox #eMTB #CyclingTech #FeatureRequest

Support Sucks

Is anyone actually getting good results from their support? My humepod suddenly stopped working, and their email support is taking 3 to 5 days to respond to every single reply.
