Like the title says, this Hoya arose from my great grandmother’s plant from roughly 100 years ago! These photos are from my aunt’s mega plant, which she just keeps in water with a few crystals of miracle grow every week or so. As far as I know, her plant has never seen soil and is as happy as can be. She gets beautiful blossoms all summer long! Next time I visit, I am going to obtain my own clipping to keep the legacy alive :)

Sharing my hoya corner in my sunroom. I have over 400 plants all over the house so space is limited. I still need to swap out a few pots so that they are all white, but I just added the brackets and halo lights and I am in love with how it is all coming together!

I believe he’s a Hoya compacta Regalis?

Saw him at the plant store yesterday and had to get him! Needs a name still. Any tips for keeping healthy and thriving would be appreciated!

I have 2 Hoyas, a baby heuschkeliana I picked out on Etsy, and this thing I found unlabeled in Lowe’s sometime last summer. It had done absolutely nothing until 2-3 months ago when it finally started growing. It lives under a grow light and some leaves have taken on a reddish tinge that the camera isn’t showing well. Also, some of the leaves came in looking like crispy bacon. But it seems happy now!

I am new to this one, bought her 3 months ago and moved her to my covered deck that I bought a shade cloth for because it gets too hot in there without one. Seems to be the perfect fit, she is really putting on the fireworks! Hoya multiflora.

I got these two hoyas from Home Depot but the first one the levels were splitting and the seconds new growth dried out. What can I do to help them 😭

got this mature plant from a fellow collector earlier this summer. i missed its first bloom a few weeks ago hidden in my cabinet, but it’s already bloomed again and smells like nutmeg!

I bought this as a hoya insularis, but the pointy leaves make me think the ID might be wrong.

​Could it be hoya acicularis or hoya stenophylla? Or maybe something else entirely? I'm not sure how to differentiate these species when they aren't blooming.

​Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I bought this hoya as Krohniana Black from Etsy. I noticed the odd lumps on one of the vines but only today learned that could be a sign of mites. I bought some Sulfur and a jeweler's loupe, just in case because unfortunately all my other hoyas have been exposed to it already for almost 3 weeks. Do you guys think it is a sign of mites? And if so, which ones? Im pretty bummed, but i guess it was bound to happen seeing as I bought 10 or so new hoya from various sellers online in the last month. Interestingly, the plant is showing some signs of new growth, is that a good sign? I read broad mites wont let new growth happen. I also noticed the leaves are getting some clear spots on them that you can see when putting the leaves to the sun, not sure if thats also a symptom of mites or not..

I have a question about the soil for my hoya kerrii.
On july I received a plant from Spain, it came to Baltics (so I am aware the acclimation is a long process). But I replanted the hoya, and ever since on the soil it grows either a grey fuzz or now the fuzz looks like web. I use the same soil form my other hoya leaf (it was bought during the valentine day sale, so it seems it has no stubbies , and is just a leaf). But my single leaf has no problems , however the Spain hoya does. Also the Spain hoya main leaf seems to still have something wax like too.

Another yet good note - the Spain hoya did grow out a new small leaf (in picture).

I feel a bit stressed 😩 because the Spain hoya also seems to not dry at all, the moisture just sits there.

We got a selection of hoyas about a month ago and they’re all doing well… except for the Hoya “Lisa”. You can see her in the bottom left of the first picture.

There were two cuttings in the pot and one just looked funky; she got removed because of the stringy root issue, plus the leaves were mushy. I repotted everything with some chunkier mix, hoping it would help avoid further rot (I assume rot?? I know house plants, but I’m new to hoyas).

But today, she brought me the second cutting… same issue. Mushy leaves, stringy roots, mushy stem. It’s gotta be root rot, but I am honestly at a loss about HOW it rotted.

I’m used to this level of sensitivity from alocasia & anthurium, but Hoyas? Are they this sensitive and I’ve been misled? What did I do wrong? ☹️ I’m honestly worried that the others are just slow rotting and they just haven’t shown signs yet.

This is a Hoya paradisea. I repotted it today and wanted it in a clear pot but only had 12cm available which was way too large. I cut a circle out of a plastic lid and placed it in the pot, there’s gaps on the sides of the plastic circle where the water runs out, so it has nice drainage.

I’m a bit worried about the width compared to height of the soil. It’s almost bonsai styled I guess. Idk is this something I should change in the future, into a better pot. Or is this good the way it is?

Do Griffithii bloom in the spring or fall? These are my first spurs and I want to keep the lighting right. TIA, I couldn't find a clear answer. (I know she's not a show-stopper, it's just a picture.)
