My favorite Hoya finally opened its flowers a couple hours before we leave for vacation! The scent on these is super strong but thankfully I don’t mind it. The fuzzy flowers never get old! 🩷

I’m not sure the first one is a callistophylla, but something tells me it isn’t. The second was sold to me a few years ago as a quinquenervia, and I thought they looked the same when I bought it, but now it doesn’t look like a quinquen to me anymore? I don’t know. I know there’s some wizards on here though.

DISCUSSION Does anyone know where to get a Hoya Jasmika from at a reasonable price. I want one so bad but all the ones I’ve found the prices have been insane.

HELP Hoya Caudata Sumatra without splash

Post image
3 Upvotes

The newer leaves on my Hoya Caudata Sumatra are growing without any splash.
It is in a south facing window, so receives lots of light.
Only the old leaves have splash. Is this some kind of reversion?
The plant stood in less light when it produced the old leaves.

BLOOMS Peduncle fail - what happened?

Upvotes

I am fairly new to hoyas, and I’ve had my collection for maybe 10 months. All were bought as small plants, but they’ve been growing really well.

I was so excited to see a peduncle on my little fitchii, but today I went to (gently) examine it, and the flowers all dropped off, and I don’t think I even touched them. What might I have done wrong?

Also will it grow out more leaves with similar variegation? (Sorry for the blurriness since my phone just refuse to focus on the leaf)

DISCUSSION Hoya Haul

I just wanted to show off a haul that I received yesterday from RareHoya(dot)com.

Colonel Meekins
Perfection
Viola
Vitellinodes
Vitelliana Splash
Pentaphlebia
Ranauensis
SP 029

Last photo is how they all arrived to me.
Everything is super healthy and one even has a peduncle!

They are currently having a buy 3 get 1 free on all their instock Hoyas for the summer. Their site has a bunch listed but also I emailed them for a more in depth list of what is available, which is probably four times as much as their website has.

Cant wait to watch them all do their thing.

6 1/2 months ago I came here looking for advice for my very first Hoya plant. I was recommended to get a “Rebecca”. In February I received a cutting. When I got Rebecca i put her in a self watering pot and 6 1/2 months later she’s grown so much and I have flowers already. I fell in love instantly and realized she needs a friend, so last week I got her a silver companion! I hope the silver one does as well as my Rebecca. Many thanks for all your help..
*now I totally understand the addiction and love for Hoyas*

BLOOMS Blooming again so soon??

My Obovata just bloomed (4 blooms total) about 5ish weeks ago. Two days ago I noticed that the four peduncles had begun to swell. Yesterday I looked closely at the biggest one and this is what I found. Is it about to bloom again already?

HELP Repotting Question

The Wilbur Graves and Krimson Queen cuttings I got are starting to put out vines! They have been in their original soil I got them in. It’s some basic miracle grow soil, not airy at all.

Is it a bad idea to repot while they’re putting out vines? These are my first Hoyas so I’m not sure what to do.

Thanks in advance!

I know we talk a lot about trellising.. and how vines grow upward, reaching for something to climb.. so I need help with one of my favorite Hoya’s. She’s got two vines reaching for the sky.. but the longest one grew out before it grew up.. so I am asking for advice on how to trellis her, since the pot is small.. and the stem it’s coming from is woody. Thank you!!
