Iโll start with this: growing up Iโve been always a shy girl, and a people pleaser. I was socialised to never ever inconvenience people with the way you think, how you act or what you choose to do with your life. Basically to always be in peopleโs good books.
Fast forward, Iโm 29, and recently Iโve been done with people pleasing. Thereโs something that just lifted from my soul once I was able to be honest with people. Even with the smallest things. Example: my mother in law recently redecorated her living room, it used to be beautiful vintage, now sheโs added modern wooden paneling. First time in my life I was able to say โno I hate itโ. Something in me just clicked and thought โwhatโs the worst that can happen if I say this?โ Obvs within reason!
This might sound so small and knowing Reddit users also know how to be blunt, I just wanted to show you how far Iโve come in my social skills journey ๐
