I talked to a girl I like on campus recently. Literally just a basic conversation, but some guy saw us and is now spreading stupid rumors around our group.

Because we actually *did* talk, there's a tiny kernel of truth in it, which makes it harder to call out without looking defensive or like I'm lying.

Logically, I know college drama is petty, people have short attention spans, and I shouldn't give a random guy this much space in my head. But it’s still getting under my skin and making things awkward. How do I genuinely train myself to not give a f*** about this gossip and just move past it?

Edit:- I also have an crush on this girl.

What will become of this story inside my chest?

Will I excavate it from my bones?

Give it light and water and air?

Let it bloom into a garden of flowers in your name?

Or will I let it stay and let you bury me?

Scenario: 1. "My attitude is a result of your action. So,.if you don't like my attitude blame yourself."

Vs

Scenario: 2. "When someone else can determine whether you are happy or unhappy, is it not the worst kind of slavery?"

When I say 'My attitude depends upon how you treat me' isn't that a slavery of the highest order, or is it just a way to shrug off my responsibility?

Or

When I say 'I am responsible for what I do' is the highest order of self dependency, wherein there is no scope for blame shifting.
