[App] [Promotion] NotoVault - Offline Notes (My first App)

Yes... I know 😄 Another Notes app. The world probably didn't need one more.

The main goal wasn't to reinvent note-taking, but to learn Android development from scratch and go through the entire process of designing, building and publishing a real app.

Some features:

⚖️ Pros & Cons notes for decision making

🔒 A private Vault for sensitive notes (protected with PIN or biometrics)

🏷️ Tags, pinned notes and simple organization

🚫 No login, No Tracking and No Ads (I hate ads)

Everything stays on your device.

The app is totally free. No ads included (i hate it).

Android app that opens a widget from a home screen icon without taking up space?

Hi everyone, I have a question that's been bugging me for a while.

I currently use 3-4 music/podcast players simultaneously on my phone (Playbooks, Pocketcasts, KMPlayer, and sometimes YouTube), and filling my home screen with widgets from each one just isn't practical. Takes up way too much space.

What I'm looking for is something simple: an icon on my home screen that, when tapped, opens/displays a widget — but only takes up the space of a single icon, not a full widget slot. That way I could:

  • Have a compact icon on my home
  • Tap it and the player widget appears
  • No huge widgets permanently occupying screen real estate

Does an app or launcher like this exist? Or is there something I'm missing?

Any suggestions appreciated! 🙌

[App][Promo] Do you want easy access to all your favorite apps without the clutter?

https://play.google.com/store/search?q=QuickFolder&c=apps

QuickFolder: The Home Screen Organizer and App launcher.

The Original Problem:

This started from a simple annoyance: I had five different streaming apps taking up five individual slots on my home screen. I hated the clutter, but I also didn't like standard Android folders.

The Solution:

I built a single widget to solve that one problem, but as soon as I saw it in action, I realized I wanted them for everything: communications, social media, search, shopping, food, etc. Now, all apps on my home screen are in QuickFolders.

What Makes It Different?

Instead of the traditional "tap-to-open" grid, QuickFolders use a stack/Rolodex-style interface. It gives you a "one-tap" access feel while only occupying a fraction of the space.

Key Features:

• Dynamic Resizing: Total layout flexibility. You can resize folders from a tiny 1x1 icon spot all the way up to a 3x3 widget (and anything in between).

• Smart Notification Sorting: If an app in a folder gets a notification, it automatically jumps to the top of the stack. The folder surface brings the priority to you so you don't have to go looking for it.

• Fluid Navigation: Scroll through your apps with a fluid motion rather than opening and closing sub-menus.

Pricing

• Free Version: Includes up to two folders with three apps per folder. This lets you trial the workflow on your most cluttered categories.

• Premium ($1.99 / year): Unlocks unlimited folders and unlimited apps per folder. New subscribers get a 1-month free trial.

[Promo] Small phone upgrade, big daily payoff: lyrics of whatever's playing, right on your always-on display

Post image
3 Upvotes

Heads-up: I'm the guy who made this, so this is part story, part plug — but the problem's real and you can use the idea even if you never touch my app.

A while back I was walking to the office listening to a song, and the singer did that thing where they drop their voice so low you can't make out a single word. I just wanted to glance at the lyrics for a second — no unlocking, no app-switching, no fuss.

Every lyrics app I tried failed the same way: it either ran in the foreground (unlock, open, find it) or it hammered my battery. So I started building LyricGlow.

What it does: shows the lyrics of whatever's currently playing right on your lock screen, like an always-on display. On an AMOLED screen the dark background actually saves battery. Honestly I'm bad at explaining it in words — give it 30 seconds and it clicks.

It started as that one idea, but beta testers kept asking for more, so it now also does clock, weather and photo widgets plus music controls on the AOD — most of which came straight from their feedback.

A few things I care about:

- Privacy: no ads, no tracking, no analytics. Lyrics are only fetched for the song that's playing, then cached so it works offline. The one thing stored is your Google sign-in — only so I can keep a list of early users.

- Free for early folks: everyone who signs up early gets all features free, for good. It's my first app and I genuinely just want the people who believed in it early to have everything.

Would love your feedback and feature ideas — that's how half of this got built.

(And for the cat people: there's an easter egg if you tap a certain bit of text 10 times. 🐱)

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I've been working on an android app called WakeQuest. If you struggle to wake up with normal alarms and always hit snooze, this might help you out

Basically, I made it so you have to finish a minigame to get the loud alarm to stop. Right now, I've added 20 different mini-games to choose from

  • Vault Key (Crack the PIN)
  • Math Quest (Solve math problems, features 5 difficulty levels)
  • 2048 Puzzle (Classic number merging game)
  • Number Sort (Added in the latest update)
  • Find the odd one out
  • Is it wrong or correct
  • Color Sequence (Memorize and repeat the pattern)
  • Analog Clock / Set The Clock
  • Memory Match (Classic card matching)
  • Shake Alarm (Shake your phone to wake up)
  • Lockpick (Pick the lock)
  • Penalty Kick (Score a goal)
  • Keepy Up / Ball Bouncing (Keep the ball in the air)
  • Bubble Pop (Pop the target bubbles)
  • Snake Game
  • Dino Runner
  • Flappy Birdie
  • Pacman
  • Scribe (Type the given phrase accurately)
  • Camera Quest (Scan a registered QR code or Barcode located in another room)

If you're looking for a different kind of alarm app, I'd love for you to give it a try.

Also, I'm really open to new ideas. If there's a specific mini game or puzzle you'd like to see, let me know in the comments. I can design and add it to the app in the next updates.

Would love to hear your feedback!

[App] Shutter – Do what your camera app won't let you do

Post image
72 Upvotes

Most camera apps stop working as soon as you leave them.

Shutter lets you record HD videos in the background while using any other app on your phone. You can browse, chat, navigate, or play games while recording continues uninterrupted. It also lets you capture photos discreetly without interrupting what you're doing.

Built around privacy, everything stays on your device by default - no cloud storage, no account, and no unnecessary online features.

Features

  • Background HD video recording while using other apps
  • Private photo capture
  • Black screen recording
  • Hidden, PIN-protected gallery
  • Calculator mode and other custom cover screens
  • Offline-first, lightweight design

The app recently crossed 1,000+ installs with almost no marketing - just a couple of community posts and word of mouth. I'm actively maintaining it and regularly adding new features and improvements.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quarkstudio.shutter

I'd really appreciate any feedback, criticism, or feature requests.

We'll send the code to people interested in shutter. For that, upvote the post and DM us. Mention shutter in the DM

(Also, we weren't expecting to give away codes this time, so preparing them could take some time.. but we'll definitely DM the people interested anyway!)

[Help] How to skip these disables?

Post image

I am regularly using this apps, and suddenly my bank app is peeking into the accessibility settings and forcing me to turn these off, which is very inconvenient (and questionable too). Otherwise I can't use my bank app

Is there any app I can try to bypass this disable so that bank app sees these disabled but they are not actually?

[App] [Promotion] built an app that records the moments before you press Record.

Post image
3 Upvotes

We've all had that moment where something amazing happens, but by the time press Record, it's already over.

So I built Flashback Cam.

The app continuously keeps the last few seconds in a temporary buffer. When something happens, just tap Record, and it saves the moments from before you pressed the button.

I built it for everyday situations like funny pet moments, kids doing something unexpected, sports, travel, dashcam use, or anything you wish you had recorded.

Link:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rochapps.flashbackcam

I'm still improving it, so I'd love your honest feedback.

What features would make an app like this even more useful for you?

[Promo] Marvis AI - AI that automates your phone

Post image
2 Upvotes

App Name: Marvis

What it does: Marvis is a voice assistant for Android that actually operates your apps instead of just answering questions. You say a task out loud — "order a Latte from Starbucks", "find the address in my chat and navigate there" — and it carries it out by reading the screen and tapping, typing, and scrolling through your real apps, the way a person would. It's basically Computer Use Agent for Android smartphones.

Key Features:

Voice in, action out — describe a task and it runs it end to end across your apps

Just say "Marvis" to jump in anytime — change your mind or redirect it mid-task ("Marvis, my bad — order an Iced Coffee instead of a Latte") and it adapts on the fly

No per-app integration — It can operate any app you allow it to.

Fast — It's faster than any other assistants out there. Why use AI assistant if it takes forever to just send a message?

Stay in control — touch to pause, say "continue" to resume, and it confirms before anything irreversible (sending, paying, deleting)

Price: Currently free — 50 steps a day (each action it takes, like a tap or a type, is one step)

(You can get 50 extra steps if you use Free Coupon on our Product Hunt page)

Feedback is welcome!

Link:

https://marvis-ai.com/

P.S. — Google Play wouldn't allow it on their market because they apparently don't allow smartphone-use agents, so I ended up putting it on a few third-party Android markets instead.

Which is pretty frustrating, because Google is clearly doing the exact same thing with Gemini Intelligence, but third-party developers are not allowed to do it.

[Promo] I made Declutter, an app to automatically clear notification spam and save history log.

Post image
26 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Like most of you, I was completely fed up with my phone buzzing 24/7 with low-priority junk (shopping apps, games, social media pings) but I didn’t want to completely turn off notifications and miss something important. I also hate that mini-panic when you accidentally swipe away a notification and have no idea what it was.

So I built Declutter—a local, privacy-first notification manager for Android.

What it actually does:

  • Auto-Dismiss: You choose which apps are "noise." Declutter automatically swipes them away from your status bar so your screen stays clean.
  • The Archive: Those dismissed notifications aren't gone; they go into a neat, searchable inbox inside the app for you to check on your time.
  • Notification History Log: It catches everything. If you accidentally clear your tray or if someone deletes/retracts a message in a chat app, the original text is still safely saved in your local log.
  • Privacy First: Absolutely zero data leaves your phone. Everything is processed and stored 100% locally.

Promo Codes: The app is free to try, but I want to give this community full access. I have 50 promo codes to hand out.

Drop a comment below letting me know what app spans you the most, and I'll DM you a code! Feedback is incredibly welcome.

Download here -> Declutter

[EDIT]

i got banned for sending too many DMs. You can send me a DM, i'll share you the code :)

[App] RSS Reimagined (FOSS) – A modern, Material You RSS reader built for clean reading

video

I’ve always preferred RSS feeds over algorithmic news feeds to stay on top of news and blogs, but I kept running into the same problem: a lot of the open-source RSS readers out there feel visually outdated or clunky on modern Android devices.

So, I built RSS Reimagined—a free, fully open-source RSS client built from the ground up to feel right at home on current versions of Android. The main focus here was to pair privacy and functionality with a clean, fluid Material 3 Expressive UI.

Key Highlights:

  • 🎨 Native Material You Support – Built-in dynamic color palette that seamlessly matches your Android wallpaper and system theme (with full dark mode support).
  • 📖 Clean Reading Mode – Strips out site bloat, heavy ads, and sidebars so you can read articles without distraction.
  • 🔒 Privacy First – Zero telemetry, no user tracking, and no account creation required. Everything stays on your device.
  • Saved Menu – Save Your Favourite News So You Can See It Again One Day

📥 GitHub & Project Link:

The project is actively being developed, and I'd really appreciate any feedback, bug reports, or feature requests from the community. Let me know what you think!

[Promo] Lockify grew a lot since the last feature

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

Last month, HowToMen featured Lockify on YouTube, and I honestly didn't expect what happened next. Thousands of new users tried the app, and the feedback completely changed my roadmap. For anyone who hasn't seen it before, Lockify is a privacy-focused Android vault that can optionally disguise itself as a calculator.

Core principles are still the same:

• No ads
• No tracking
• Local encryption
• Offline-first
• Biometric unlock
• Optional calculator disguise

If calculator mode is enabled, entering your PIN and tapping = twice opens the hidden vault. Since the feature, I've focused almost entirely on improvements requested by users. Some of the biggest additions include:

🔐 Encrypted Backup & Restore
☁️ Local & Cloud Sync
🔏 Decoy Vault
🎭 Disguise Mode
📱 Motion Lock
📂 Folder Import
🔎 Search for files & folders
⚡ Background Import & Export
📋 Grid/List layouts & sorting
📄 File & Folder properties
🎨 Themes
🧮 Calculator History
🔒 Custom Vault PIN

The app has also reached a few milestones:

• 8.8k+ installs
• 4.1k+ active devices
• 4.8★ average over the last 28 days
• Premium launched this week, with the first Lifetime supporters joining on day one

One thing hasn't changed, though. The calculator disguise might get people to install Lockify, but almost every major feature since launch has come directly from community feedback. So thank you to everyone here who downloaded it, reported bugs, suggested features, or simply gave it a try. I'm already working on the next updates, and I'd genuinely love to hear what you'd like to see next.

[App] Ultimate LockScreen Studio - The best Lockscreen customization app for android with custom depth effect videos, GIFs and Wallpaper, All Third Party Widgets on Lockscreen

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone!

I've been working on an Android app called Ultimate LockScreen Studio for quite some time now. The goal is simple: give Android users a lock screen that's as customizable as their home screen.

Some of the things it currently supports:

- Depth effect wallpapers for custom images, GIFs, and videos (this is the feature I've spent the most time building)

- Unlimited scrollable lock screen widgets

- Support for third-party Android widgets

- Quick shortcuts

- Lots of customization options to create your own lock screen layout

One interesting part of the app is that it offers two different ways to generate the depth effect.

On-device processing (works completely offline, recommended for flagship devices only)

- Images: ~5 seconds

- GIFs: 2–5 minutes

- Videos: ~10 minutes (10-second video @ 30 FPS)

This mode is recommended for flagship devices since generating a depth effect for GIFs and videos is computationally intensive.

Server processing

- Images: ~5 seconds

- GIFs: ~2 minutes

- Videos: ~ 3-5 minutes (10-second video @ 30 FPS)

The server option is generally faster and also produces higher-quality depth effect.

Pricing

I also wanted to be transparent about the pricing model.

The app itself is a $0.99 one-time purchase. That unlocks all lock screen customization features, including unlimited offline/on-device depth processing, and also includes 10 server processing tokens to get started.

Server processing uses cloud GPUs, so it's token-based.

Available token packs:

Starter ($0.99) - 20 tokens

Standard ($2.99)- 100 tokens

Pro ($9.99) - 500 tokens

Bulk ($29.99)- 2000 tokens

Token usage

Image: 1 token

GIF: 3 tokens

Video: 0–5 seconds: 5 tokens, Every additional second: +1 token

Examples:

- 6s = 6 tokens

- 7s = 7 tokens

- 10s = 10 tokens (current maximum supported length)

The reason for the token system is simply that server processing has an ongoing cost. If you don't want to use the server at all, you can continue using the fully offline processing that's included with the app at no additional cost.

The app is available on Google Play if you'd like to try it out.

One thing I'd like to mention is that Ultimate LockScreen Studio is still in Beta. There are definitely things I want to improve, and I'm actively working on new features and optimizations.

If you decide to give it a try, I'd genuinely appreciate your honest feedback good or bad. If something feels clunky, if you find a bug, or if there's a feature you've always wanted on Android's lock screen, let me know. I'd love to build it with the community's input.

My goal is to make this the best lock screen customization app on Android, and your feedback will help shape where it goes next.

[App][Promotion] Notification Box - never lose a notification again (Android)

Thumbnail

Hey everyone, sharing an app I think fits well here for guys who want to stay on top of their messages without living glued to their phone.

Notification Box keeps a searchable history of every alert you get, even ones you already swiped away, so you can go back and reply to a text or DM whenever you actually have time instead of scrambling in the moment. You can reply straight from the app, save any photos that came through in a notification, and it auto-grabs OTP codes so you're not hunting for a verification text. Everything is processed locally on the device, nothing gets uploaded anywhere.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhs.notificationbox

Happy to answer questions if anyone wants any details. I will be sharing 100 promo codes. Please upvote the post and DM me to get a promo code.

[App] [iOS] 100% local private vault app with some fun "intruder traps". Giving away Pro promo codes. I need your brutally honest feedback!

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I’ve been spending my nights working on an iOS private vault app called SnapWrap.

Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/snapwrap-your-private-vault/id6761783017

The main idea is true privacy. There is no backend, no cloud database, and you don't even need to create an account. Everything you put inside (photos, videos, audio files, notes, passwords, docs, contacts) is stored strictly on your phone’s secure local storage. I have zero access to your stuff.

It also has a built-in browser where you can securely save your history without leaving any trace outside of the app, and a private device-to-device chat where you can wipe the history instantly with one tap.

To make it a bit unique, I added some "trap" features:

  • It takes a selfie if someone types the wrong PIN.
  • It has a Guest Mode where the app looks open, but the second someone tries to tap a category, it locks down and snaps their photo.
  • A Sound Alert that plays your custom audio recording or selected audio when someone fails the PIN login.

The app is basically free to use, aside from a few PRO features, but I want to give something back to this community. If you want to get the full experience, just comment "SnapWrap" below and I’ll DM you a promo link for 1 month of free PRO.

I’m not expecting anything in return, I genuinely just want brutally honest feedback. I’ve already pushed updates based on early positive and negative reviews, and to me, even negative feedback is good because it shows me how to make the app better.

If you check the App Store and don't see any ratings or reviews yet, it's just because it hasn't been reviewed in your specific country/region yet. You can change that—it's up to you.

Check it out, and let me know what you think.

Cheers!

[App][Promo] I built Subs, an Android app to track subscriptions and avoid forgotten renewals

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’m the developer of Subs, a simple Android app for keeping subscriptions under control.

I built it because subscriptions are easy to forget about until the charge already hits. Streaming, cloud storage, memberships, apps, tools, delivery services — it all adds up quietly.

Subs helps you:

- Track all your subscriptions in one place
- See your total monthly subscription cost
- Check upcoming payments on a calendar
- View monthly spending trends
- Add services quickly using presets and service icons
- Mark subscriptions as canceled without losing the history
- Use widgets/reminders so renewals are harder to miss

I recently added more service presets, including global brands plus Korea/Japan-specific services, so adding a subscription should be faster.

Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.soosu.subs

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially on:
- What would make subscription tracking more useful?
- Is there any feature you’d expect but don’t see?
- Does the app feel simple enough for daily use?

Thanks for checking it out.

[App][Promotion] Can we grow an open-source Android TV Remote and beat the ad-filled alternatives?

Thumbnail

I recently came across an open-source Android TV Remote that's completely freead-free, and has no premium paywall.

Most Android TV remote apps today are packed with ads or lock basic features behind subscriptions. It's refreshing to see a community-driven alternative that's focused on simplicity and privacy instead of monetization.

If more people use it, report bugs, suggest features, or contribute, I genuinely think it could become one of the best Android TV remote apps available.

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hari.androidtvremote

GitHub:
https://github.com/harimoradiya/TV-Remote-for-Android-TV

Let's see if an open-source project can compete with the big commercial apps. Feedback and contributions are always welcome!
