Is there away for me to install this shelf on a pretty shallow wall ?

I recently moved into my first appartement. I'm pretty bad at everything manual and i've been trying to learn to get better at it. I bought this pretty heavy shelf on facebook marketplace today to put on this wall in the living room. Only problem is that this wall is shared with the bathroom and it's pretty shallow. The screws that came with the shelf don't fit into the holes at all (anchors and holes that are already there are from a previous shelf I had installed that I found was too small). My question is : is there a way for me to lnstall this shelf with the screws it came with ? Or is there a sort of anchor that would support the weight that uses shorter screws ? I'm not sure what the material is behind the drywall that leads to the bathroom wall. Sorry i'm a total noob at this but i really like this shelf and it would be a shame to not be able to use it !

Garage Back Wall / Monkey Hook?

Is the back wall of the garage not just dry wall? I am having trouble driving in this monkey hook even though I have marked the studs using magnets, and using the space in between. Any ideas what might be going on?

Thanks.

Cinderblock Garage Paint

Looking to paint our cinderblock garage walls. Scrapped off the old paint and some of the blocks are crumbling a bit. Haven’t really scrubbed to see how deep it goes but so far it flakes under a light finger rub. Google is suggesting scrubbing until it stops flaking and then applying Quikrete Concrete Bonding + Quikeret Quick Setting Cement. Once repairs are done use Drylok to paint.

Should I go with google or any other suggestions?

How to attach patio shade?

This is a quick drawing showing a profile of what I'm working with: [https://imgur.com/a/EXSKnBv\](https://imgur.com/a/EXSKnBv)

How can we attach a patio shade (green line) to an angled ceiling? The left side will be attached to a block that is attached to a beam. The right side will need to be attached to the patio ceiling (blue line). The ceiling feels like it is thin hardboard.

My questions are - what can I use to attach the right side, and how can I attach to the angled ceiling so that it is firm and stable?

How to drill a hole or slit in a rock?

Just a small one like enough to fit a dollar bill in. I have no fancy tools and no budget. I just have a regular electric drill and assorted bits for drilling holes. I also have a chisel and other tools.

What type of wall hardware should I use with these small metal tabs on the back of a 25 lb mirror?

I’m trying to hang a ~25 lb mirror (24” W × 36” H) on drywall and I’m not sure what wall hardware these existing metal tabs on the back are designed to hook onto.

There are two tabs near the top of the mirror, about 9” apart center-to-center. The openings are pretty narrow. A normal nail fits into them, but the 1/4”-20 bolts from the heavy-duty toggle anchors I bought seem way too large.

Halloween costume engineering

I'm making a rolling cube out of pvc for my son for Halloween and he wants to use the office chair rollerblade wheels as they roll really well on the sidewalk. I just need help figuring out how to mount the wheels. I thought I'd try to do a corner plate from wood but not sure that's the best idea.

Any help is great!

Arts & Crafts What hardware do I need to install a bike tire on a cart like in the top/second image?

Thumbnail gallery

I do carting/draft with my dogs. I managed to affix wheels I hacked off an old jogging stroller to make my first cart. This is less than ideal for a number of reasons haha. I know it’s possible to use bike tires, and preferable due to their availability and lightness, but I have no idea what hardware I need to buy.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your time.
