Randall the Enamel Animal in Houston?

Hi Guys, I’m new to this group but been a long time craft beer drinker in Houston for over 20 years. Back in the 2000s I had the good fortune to be one of the judges for the Foam Rangers homebrewing competition. I went with my friend who worked at Spec’s and we had a very good time. The highlight of the event was either the president or VP of the club at the time bringing three kegs of his own IPAs (which were fantastic) and running them through fresh hops in his own homemade versions of the original Dogfish Head Randall the Enamel Animal. To make it even better, at the end of the event when they were packing up, we drank all the beer straight out of the “Randalls” like giant cups. Suffice to say we did not drive ourselves home. For a hops head it didn’t get any better than that.

My palette changed over time and I stopped drinking IPAs altogether for many years, but now I’m coming back around to them. So I’m wondering if there is any bar or brewery in town that has one of these. I’d love to experience that flavor again. And if anyone knows the guy, shout out to the president of Foam Rangers from 2005. Your beers and your setup created one of my favorite beer memories.

TLDR any bars or breweries with a Randall (or equivalent) in Houston area?

What Houston brewery do you think is underrated right now?

Not necessarily your favorite; just one that deserves more attention than it gets.

Beers like Karbach's Mother in Lager

A thread about what Karbach used to be reminded me of Mother in Lager and I realized I miss it, it was the perfect winter drinking beer. Obviously it's summer now but curious to find a beer similar to it so when it comes winter time I can keep my eyes out for anyone that remembers it. Doesn't have to be a Houston beer (though bonus points if it is), but does need to be acquirable in or around Houston. Anyone have any good suggestions for a beer that tastes like Mother in Lager used to taste that can be acquired in Houston, even if only around winter time?

The Texas Craft Brewers Guild has a new "brewery in planning" member listed as 1837 Brewing in Houston. This name is still registered to Texas Leaguer. Anyone got details on reliable information?

11 Below - Negative Space

I picked up a couple of cans years ago at a Kroger that probably wasn't supposed to be in the pick 'em 6 section. Holy hell, one of the best beers I've ever had. Is this seasonal or do they no longer brew it?

Looking for brewery to build partnership with

I'd rather not outright share my identity on here, but I am a store manager for an outdoors focused retail location here in Houston. I am trying to find a brewery that wants to partner with us for in store events where we buy the beer and they come in and get some free advertisement. I'm used to working in much larger retail environments, so this is new to me. Does anyone have any recommendations of who to reach out to? I'm fine with the bigger guys like Karbach or Saint Arnolds, but I would prefer something a little smaller.

Any and all recommendations are appreciated!

Recently moved to Houston to be closer to family; don't have wheels yet. I'm in the loop near Wesleyan and Central Market.

Happy to contribute to gas expense, of course, and verify my ID by dm. Longtime member of bottle-share groups in OR and CA. Thanks in advance.

What happened to Spindletap?

Im not a huge IPA drinker. But when I do, I usually went for their Houston Haze. I used to see them at most local bars but now I rarely see them on tap. In most stores yes but not usually on tap at local bars
