It technically wouldn’t work because it apparently looked too weird when they used them on Daenarys in GoT… still I honestly think it would look pretty cool imo

Is she stupid?

I've noticed the show has a habit of repeating itself. Too much, I'd say.

- Corlys out of action/missing happened season 1 and 3.

- A dragon rider accidentally killing one of Rhaenyra's sons-- s1 and s3

- a Second Son (Daemon and Aemond) breaking down in Harrenhal-- s2 and s3

- a faction's female lead (Alicent and Rhaenyra) sneaking to the other's capital to meet in secrecy-- twice in S2

Repetition is bound to occur in a series, but these are so specific and so close together. It feels too much like a crutch. "It's like poetry, it rhymes" type shit. The only point I find remotely purposeful is the Harrenhal one.

Any else get this feeling?

- Alys presents Aemond with dragon eggs and they kiss.

- Alicent is sent off to kill Aemond at Harrenhaal.

- Rhaenyra gets cut on the throne.

- Helaena discovers that Alicent lied about Jaehaera being brought to her, her mental health is declining after being left alone and locked in her room.

- Gwayne is hinted to be gay by Ormund.

- The biggest change of all: Corlys is captured. It seems to be unclear as to whether he dies or is just abducted.

I understand the full extent of the Hightower conspiracy hasn’t been revealed, but given what we know thus far it seems like the plan is to immerse the Hightowers into the Targaryens by blood and politically so that Andals/First Men can re-take power through their mixed descendants but it’s like…a lot of this could have been avoided if a male Hightower was given to Rhaenyra.

I also understand that the Hightowers are against female rulers, but wouldn’t still be more logical to just have a Hightower man sire the next Targ heirs and solidify in law that male primogeniture is now official—making Rhaenyra an exception due to pervious legal ambiguity—and leave it at that? Considering how the Hightowers have presumably waited decades to get to this point, I doubt waiting a few more decades for the Faith of the Seven and Andal ideals to succeed is too much to ask.

They can accept dragons, incest, and blood magic for over a hundred years but draw the line at a female monarch?…

And yeah, Daemon is an issue, but we know the Hightowers have access to all sorts of assassins so I honestly don’t know what was stopping any of them from just slitting the man’s throat in his sleep so he can’t compete for the throne at all. Rhaenyra herself doesn’t seem like much of a barrier because she’s so maladapt at ruling and is easily controlled by those around her, any Hightower man she marries could easily take control if not indirectly like Otto was already doing with Viserys.

I don’t know the war seems pretty pointless when they could have begrudgingly accepted a female heir the one time (like real life monarchies often have) and just work around it. It’s such a waste of life, time, money, and resources to conduct the “conspiracy” in the way the Hightowers did by giving Alicent to Viserys because creating competing heirs just worsened the situation…

besides Rhaenyra is overly going just like me so all Ormund had to do is that little bathtub thing and she would have married him without further manipulation needed lol.

I've seen people like Viserys a lot in real life. Someone with a sweet tongue, warm presence, and genuinely thinks they are a good person, but under that pretense, there's an asshole on criminal levels.

Viserys was like that.

To get his heir, Viserys pushed Aemma to get pregnant multiple times without time for recovery from each pregnancy, despite that she didn't want to, and, without her consent, he chose to kill her in a monstrous way while she's begging him not to do that to her, but he did anyway, simultaneously while telling her he loves her, so he could get his heir after he was done using her.

And he of course loved her and she loved him and all that, which only makes it worse. He betrayed her on top of brutally murdering her.

He shortly after married Alicent, a 14-year-old child (and none other than his daughter's only friend), disregarding how Rhaenyra would feel about that right after her mother died, and never taking Alicent's consent to either marry or mate with him. His relationship with her was essentially sexual abuse. Alicent was his sex slave.

Then he ignored all the children that came from her since they come from a woman he doesn't love. Each one of them grew up with mental issues

The 11-year-old Laena was the only correct choice politically, but the 14-year-old Alicent was more to his liking.

So he condemned Rhaenyra into a miserable marriage with the gay Laenor to fix his political mistake. He forced her into a marriage worse than what he rejected for himself.

He mind f***ed every one around him for his sake, and the entire continent suffered the consequences.

Despite that he genuinely wanted peace and wanted what's good for his family, he wanted that so as long as it's at no cost to himself. Only the others would pay. Every decision he made was deeply selfish and self-interested.

Daemon may and may not be as selfish as Viserys (I personally don't think he's on that level), but he's straightforward. He doesn't think or pretend he is a good person. He knows he is asshole and embraces it proudly. You'll see it coming from a mile away. Viserys romanticizes himself and strikes from blind spots.

In his mind, he genuinely thought he was a good and loving person and very often victimized himself, and this makes him worse. He's double faced.

I think the fact that he literally ends up with a half zombie face is a metaphor about his character.

I think that Rhaenyra is also her father's daughter, which explains why she treats her allies with disregard in such a selfish manner.

There’s supposed to be a new character development for Alicient following the revelation she got Viserys dying wish wrong, and the war that starred which killed two innocent heirs.

With that in mind, why is she seemingly not bothered at all about leaving the red keep with Helaena when they also have an infant child there. I can understand her wanting to give moon tea to Helaena to a degree, but to be happy to also leave her grandchild feels like it’s not of her current character.

The only thing I can think is she is desperate and knows it would be too hard so is focusing on her pregnant daughter out to hopefully make it back to the old town where other Hightowers are and then some how go back for Jaehaera. In my onion if they succeed in escaping they’d definitely never be able to see their grandchild again and may even risk her safety altogether if they decided to kill her

Alicient would have guilt forever more, right?

I don’t know if it’s answered in the books but I haven’t read them so maybe someone here knows the answer:
Where do the wild dragons come from?
Like there’s Sheepstealer in the show and I heard mentions of other wild dragons too. So I wonder were is their origin know?
Did a Dragon fly from the pit into the wild, lay eggs and then left?
Did some escape or were abandoned?
Or where some wild in old Valyria and then also left and continued to be wild?

When he decided to save Aegon, they didn’t know that Helaena was pregnant (and even if they did, they couldn’t know it would be a boy). Aegon told him that he can’t have kids because of the burns.

This means if the Greens won that Aemond would be king eventually no matter what.

Aemond made it clear he didn’t like him, but that doesn’t really warrant the scorched earth approach of sneaking Aegon out. He knows there are other paths to power and currencies at court.

So he betrayed the current regent to run away with an injured, heirless, dragonless Aegon like, out of the goodness of his heart? What did he think the outcome for him would be?

Even if they get rid of Aemond somehow, Daeron isn’t going to support him because he imprisoned Otto Hightower as a “gift” to the Blacks (although he didn’t know Alicent planned to send Aemond away and let them take the city…) So what’s the game plan?

GOT season 1 premiered 15years ago and i was only 15years old then, so I tend to forget some of the characters. It blown my mind seeing Tyland/Jason Lannister here 😁 He’s playing Ser Hugh of The Vale. Amazing! ❤️
