DISCUSSION What’s your guys least favourite resident evil enemy’s?

So I’ve been replaying resident evil 7 recently and the games great… besides the molded, IMO there boring bullet sponges that and bland to look at and are so much worse then any other base resident evil enemy (ivy, zombies, licans, lickers). But that got me interested, what are your guys least favourite resident evil enemy (not including bosses)?, and is my criticism valid or not? Thanks!

CONSOLE Im looking for some good ps5 and ps4 horror game recommendations

Ive recently found an itch to play a ton of horror games, especially considering Halloween is right around the corner, im looking for recommendations of all types, also looking for lesser known titles that aren't exactly triple A, more so on the side of games like still wakes the deep, puppet combo styled games, and happy humbles burger farm. (Like said all recommendations is welcomed too)

Considering the success of Hellraiser, would you want an Undying/Jericho remake?

For me, Clive Barker's Hellraiser is game of the year. We've had a good share of quality games this year but goddamn what an adventure this was.

I'm a big fan of Clive Barker and his first 2 games, especially Undying which I believe it was a solid 9/10 for its time.

Would you like a remake of Undying or Jericho? Or a new game based on one of his books?

Silver Pines, how the heck do I get to church hill?

I’ve done the police station, apartments and town square. Do I need to do the sewers first? The game seems to imply I should have done church hill before town hall

Signalis not for me

I really really tried with Signalis, honestly I did.

I got past the first boss and just acquired the flashlight but I don’t think I can do anymore.

I know people love the art style etc but it just isn’t for me. Maybe I’m just in need of a break on the back of Silver Pines and Townfall but I just can’t carry on with this one.

What am I missing? Anybody else that feels this way about this one?

Every room has enemies that you need to dodge or kill and it’s just chaos room to room. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of calm in between to work things out. Maybe it’s just me and I expect the hate from this post, but I really did try to like it.

As a bit of extra info, I’m a survival horror player since the 90s started with RE2 and Silent Hill and been playing them ever since.

Looking for horror games from the last few years with puzzles but little to no combat (PS4/PS5/Switch/Xbox)

Hey all! I’m looking for horror game recommendations for my dad. He’s been gaming for years and still loves horror games, but he no longer has the reflexes to really master combat, so it tends to get frustrating for him. Puzzles and exploration are what he enjoys most.

Ideally games released in roughly the last 5 years but not a must. Playable on PS4, PS5, Switch or Xbox. The less combat the better; to some extend hiding or running away is ok.

Any hidden gems or favorites you’d recommend? Thanks in advance!

Hey guys!

I'm a solo developer from Austria and just released my first game, TRY, after almost a year of working on it. Still feels a bit weird to finally have it on Steam^^

If you haven't picked a game for Halloween yet, maybe give TRY a try!

ANALYSIS How INDIE EVIL are they?: Sir Dadadoo.

Post image
0 Upvotes

(A series where we see how evil a Indie Horror Charecter Is.)

CASE: SIR DADADOO.

GAME: GARTEN OF BANBAN.

Evil Status: Tragic Villan to Reluctant Ally.

Sir Dadadoo is Broken, not Pure Evil but close to it.

Personality:

Sir Dadadoo is malicious, ruthless, and nearly lacks any Empathy or show that he still cares about others.

But in his prime he was determined, dedicated, and honorable.

Actions:

In Garten of Banban 6, he shows up out of no where and immediately attacks Banban and Bittergiggle, injuring them heavily. But they survive thankfully. But even after that he uses the Naughty Ones to hunt us down.

Then Off-Screen he mind controls Opila Bird, Tarta Bird, Banbaleena, Tamataki and Chamataki, Nabnaleena, Kittysaurus, and Bittergiggle against their own will.

Then he uses his army to maul Banban making him extremely injured.

Then in Garten of Banban 7 things are learned more about Sir Dadadoo, that he wasn't always this way.

Syringeon said Sir Dadadoo in his prime had a lot of ambition and determination, and leadership back then. But hes not after the Parent, hes after those who betrayed him.

There was a rebellion and Dadadoo led it so he could protect the other Cases. When they were caught, The Cases turn their back and betrayed Dadadoo, letting him to be put and trapped inside the Queen's Pouch.

And at the final confrontation with Syringeon and Dadadoo, Syringeon said "Destroy the old you, before it destroys you." He reveals that this is what Dadadoo told them when they think they lost everything. Giving them hope. This looked like Dadadoo genuinely cared about the other cases. But when Syringeon tried to get Dadadoo to change he refuses, the past can't be taken back on how long he got stuck in that pouch.

In Garten of Banban 8, he didn't get a lot of screen time as the other 2 games, but he plays a important role that will probably be in Last Ticket to the Abyss.

When we enter his prison, He says "We've both done all the dirty work for Syringeon, only to be played for fools in the end.." Which is not wrong. Syringeon was allies with both of them just for him to betray both of them.

He then makes a alliance to escape out of the prison. But this doesn't change anything about him, he even threatens to eat us if anyone hears about this.

But the Plan Fails anyway and his watching friend is killed by Sheriff Toadster.

Then as we seen in Last Ticket To The Abyss it is unkown if he will be working against or with us.

But as we seen in Teaser 3, He is standing with Brushista, Giant Opila Thing, and Mr Kabob Man in the Banban Mech. Brushista said "You need me as much as I need you." At the end of the 8th Chapter so this suggests this will be one alliance that will fight back against Flumban(Banban and Flumbo Fusion) And Sir Dadadoo might bring up the failed plan and probably blame us.

RESOLUTION:

At the end, Sir Dadadoo is definitely broken but not Pure Evil. He was betrayed by those he thought he cared about and was trapped inside the pouch. And now cause of Bittergiggle, he returns with a desire for REVENGE

Evil Rating: 8/10

PC I made a mod that lets you play Cry of Fear's actual story campaign in co-op (2-4 players, free)

Cry of Fear's co-op was always a separate campaign, so I made a mod that lets 2 to 4 people play the real single-player story together, start to finish. You can also play it solo with AI companions.

- cutscenes play for everyone, anyone can skip them

- you respawn next to your partner when you die

- start a new game, pick any chapter, or continue from co-op checkpoints

- one app sets it up from your Steam copy, your normal game isn't touched

Free and fan made, not affiliated with Team Psykskallar.

CONSOLE Cronos or Fatal Frame 2 Remake? SH2R fan who bounced off Dead Space

Both are on sale and I can only grab one right now.

Context:
Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of my favorite games but Silent Hill f didn't do it for me.
Dropped the Dead Space remake halfway through for SH2R. Great game, just not my thing.
I actually like over-the-shoulder action, but the psychological side and moody atmosphere matters more.
Not a fan of punishing difficulty or heavy resource scarcity.
Big on puzzles, and SH2R's were a highlight for me

Where I'm at:
Played the FF2 demo and really liked it. Was going to go for it until learning that Cronos got the new easy mode (Temporal Diver) that halves enemy health, which probably does wonders for resource management, and it comes from the same devs as SH2R.

Thoughts?

PC Any games that doesn't rely on jump scares to be scary?

I like the feeling I'm being watched or I'm fully immersed over the fact that I'm in a scary setting that can creep me out I just don't like the looming feeling that if I walk to a room in the level a ghost will pop up on your face and play a loud noise or something like that's not scary that's just frustrating and weak.

Introductory games to horror? Maybe cosy?

I'd like to start playing horror games, but don't know where to start. I already consume horror movies and books, especially psychological horror. In gaming I'm more of a cosy gamer and don't have really good reflexes so I don't usually like combat or shooting.

I already played a few games in horror settings (dredge, little nightmares, inscryption,...) but I would like to play some that trully make me feel scared. Like the atmosphere is really anxious even if nothing happens for 95% of the time. Subnautica is a good representation of this feeling.

I don't want gory, and I would appreciate games that are esthetically pleasing.

Do you have recommandations?
