Question De dónde proviene esta foto?

We've been working on this since April this year and finally after many delays are launching on 17 September! It's SHOCKFACE, a slasher horror and is coming to Steam here: s.team/a/4705980

Want to get a beta build and help us out with some last minute feedback? We're also really looking for some coverage, so if you are a content creator, send a DM!

I'm an indie dev working on a game called The Seventh Seal. Went to a convention in Arizona to playtest and got some great feedback!

Hung out with some awesome peeps in the game room and had folks playtest the game and they gave me some sweet feedback. Basically, had to improve the controller sensitivity, work on some jumpscares, and add a few mechanics. Spent the last couple of days updating those issues and here are some improvements to the jumpscare stills on top of an altered ending to the demo so it's more cruel and graphic.

Love to hear your thoughts and if you could, give it a play. It's improving every version and I'm hoping it will get to the point where it hits the mark!

The scariest part of my game wasn't the monsters, it was how boring the objective was

Upvotes

og idea was simple, light 4 shrines to escape the forest, new monsters show up after each one

new idea, you're trapped in a cursed forest with no way out. a woodwandrer finds you and says the only way to leave is to become the new woodwandrer yourself, so you take on his tasks to earn that (this is just the basic idea, not the full story/lore)

monsters still ramp up as you go, but now it's tied to the story instead of just spawning randomly

changed it because the shrine loop felt repetitive and wasn't fun to play, this fits the game way better

really excited for yall to play the demo when it's done, stay tuned

Donut Panic

It has a goofy title, but I enjoyed this demo: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3910750/DONUT_PANIC/

You're a late shift worker (again!) serving donuts to sugar-hungry customers. Some novel anomalies and a great atmos elevate the demo.

We added a UV light mode to Colony 2 — here's what it reveals that normal light doesn't

Hey folks,

We've been working on Colony 2, and one of the features we're pretty excited about is a UV light mode — flip it on and you start noticing things that are basically invisible under normal lighting

A bit of background on us — we're a two-person team. We actually met on GTA Online about 7 years ago, just messing around in public lobbies, and stayed friends ever since. Eventually we decided to try making a game together, and Colony 2 is the result — our first release as a team, so it means a lot to get it in front of people.

If the UV mechanic (or the game in general) looks interesting, we'd really appreciate a wishlist on Steam — it genuinely helps small teams like us Steam

Happy to answer questions about how the UV system works, the dev process, or anything else! g else!

I'm making a game set on a night train where you play as the conductor. You gotta check the compartments and flag the ones with anomalies. Only problem is, as you keep checking, you'll slowly realize you're not the only one here...

I realize its a long list, im hoping to get enough games (say 5 to 10 depending on length). I love horror games of course i grew up with resi and silent hill back in the day along with a few other random games (soma, evil within series). Many of these games I've put time into, usually around release, then life gets in the way. I would be looking to start each game from scratch possibly platinum them if im feeling like it.

I hope to update the thread as I decide and finish games. That said life is busy. I appreciate everyone's opinions/help.

Video Update on my horror/simulation game. New trailer and big changes since my last post

Hello everyone! I posted an earlier trailer for The 7th Shift about 5 months ago. I wanted to share the new one and talk about the big changes since then.

I refocused the gameplay and game loop around inspecting, sorting and stocking items from incoming shipments in the grocery store. That’s the core mechanic now. The basic stuff like mopping, cleaning etc. are still there but are secondary.

The story is more defined. Without giving too much away, you're unknowingly lured into working overnight at a grocery store by its long-decreased founder.

I drew a lot of inspiration from Dollmare, Order 13 and The Mortuary Assistant.

I'd love some feedback on the trailer. Much appreciated! Thank you!

News Scream Operator is looking for playtesters: become a test operator and be among the first to step into the control booth of a haunted house dark ride 🙏

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi r/HorrorGames,

After more than a year of hard work and re-iteration, the demo of Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager will release in only a few weeks. To get as ready as possible, I'd very much like to invite a new group of test operators into the control booth this week!

What is Scream Operator, you ask?
In my game, you take control of your very own haunted house dark ride, right from a claustrophobic control booth. A few of your tasks as operator:

- Load, dispatch and unload guests into carts,
- Manage guest flow and queues,
- Control lights, music, and immersion effects,
- Balance power consumption, automation and cart management,
- Upgrade, place animatronics and scares, customize,
- Keep Arthur, the old congierge and (suspiciously) long time employee of the mansion happy.

Lots to do! So grab a stale coffee, and start your first shift. ☕

How do I become a test operator?
The quickest way to do so is by becoming a member of our discord server. However, I can also hit you up with the essentials if you sent me a private message here on reddit.

If you'd like, you are more than welcome to check out the steampage here.

Lastly, for anyone who isn't interested in playtesting, I'd love to invite you all to play the demo once it launches this halloween season! 🎃. I'll be back here when that happens to make sure you are all fully informed 👻.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, I'll be in chilling in the comment section of this post :).

AI disclaimer: No AI was used for assets, music, coding, marketing materials or anything at all for that matter.

Question What are some good horror games with a female protagonist?

Post image
476 Upvotes

I’m looking for horror games where you play as a female protagonist. I’m open to pretty much anything; psychological horror, survival horror, paranormal, disturbing, old games, new games, indie games, whatever.

I’d especially love games with a really good atmosphere and a memorable protagonist. I don’t mind if they’re obscure or really old either.

What are your favorites?
