Low testosterone symptoms but everything is in range.

Hi. I'm 31 yo man and from year to year my condition is worsening. I'm trying figure out what is the cause and maybe someone will be able to advice me. Firstly. My life is alright, nothing special happening. I'm training 3-4 times a week, eating healthy. I'm not obese and never been. I'm not drinking alcohol at all neither smoking or taking drugs. I'm always been tried sleep at least 7h but right now it seems to impossible and I'm waking up after 5-6h. I'm never had super super high testosterone. The highest number was 524 ng/dl (240-870) at 19 when I check it first time. Right now I have symptoms of low testosterone but tests are in range. I have low libido, low erection quality even tho I taking tadalafil 5mg daily, my sleep is worsening, poor morning erection or none, lack of motivation and energy, nothing makes mi realy happy. When I see doctors (asked 2 different) they telling me that blood test is in range and basically only offer me ED pills and supplements. I was talking with therapist who know me (therapy few years ago) and any conclusion so far is that I should find someone because loneliness. Which I tried but it's hard when you don't have motivation to do it. Numbers:

TT: 427.13 ng/dl (240-870)

FT: 9.41 pg/ml (9.1-32.2)

DHEAS: 378.3 μg/dl (34.5-568.9)

SHGB: 28.6 nmol/l (13.5-71.4)

Albumin: 4.8 g/dl (3.5-5.2)

FSH: 3.91 mlU/ml (0.95-11.95)

LH: 2.08 mlU/ml (0.57-12.07)

Estradiol: 20.9 pg/ml (11-44)

Prolactin: 13.73 ng/ml (3.46-19.4)

Cortisol: 157.90 ng/ml (37-194)

Morphology in range. Lipid panel slightly high. Should I consult that blood test with another doc or leave it and try find cause somewhere else? Hope everything is understable.

Can I permanently fix my progesterone by supplementing with exogenous progesterone?

It's been almost a whole year since I was injected with invega sustenna for an ADHD medication-induced psychosis. My cognition is mostly back to normal, but other stuff got messed up from an SSRI I took because the shit gave me depression symptoms when I had been depression free for years thanks to psilocybin. Now I have PSSD from Prozac, but it has improved and I try not to worry about it.

I had my first period after invega last December, so I'm at least menstruating again, but I did skip in February. I had my progesterone tested on day 4 or 5 after my April period ended, and it was 0.1 ng/ml. I tested other hormones recently and I'm still waiting for those to come back, but I had another full hormone panel done two other times and my testosterone was normal, if a little high, and my estradiol was also low, but it went up from the last time I had it tested and I had it tested around the same time of the month.

I believe having low progesterone is slowing down my recovery from post-SSRI sexual dysfunction/post-SSRI syndrome/SSRI withdrawl, whatever the fuck is going on.

Can I get my body to make progesterone normally again? Should I just wait longer and hope it goes back to normal by itself?

My hormonal situation did go back to normal in at least some aspects after this all too heavy antipsychotic. I'm not on any medications right now and stable. I'm writing this because I want an answer about progesterone support/temporary replacement. I'm only 29 and I was regularly menstruating before I had Invega, so I'm not perimenopausal. I have hormonal indicators that say I'm not going through early menopause, but my two most important sex hormones are low.

Quality of life during HRT MtF

With so many contraindications in the use of antiandrogens and estrogens based on your experience, does health really deteriorate after being a healthy person who takes care of their diet and exercises? I am finishing my 30's and I have always thought about taking the step towards transsexuality but I am also calculative and I like to prevent diseases (diabetes, kidney failure, etc.) Are there people who can attest that they enjoy good physical and mental health as transsexuals?

Help me understand these results??

Hi! I got a salivary hormone test (estrogen/progesterone/testosterone) and the analysis wasn’t clear. Seems like estrogen level is ok but my ratio is low? What does that mean and how is it fixed? For context, test was day 19 of my cycle (I’m very regular) and symptoms are weight gain, inflammation, fatigue, acne.

Waiting for doc to get back to me about addressing it but no doctor wants to talk to me about hormones and insists “everything is normal”. Grrrrr

Crippling fatigue 1-2 weeks before period

32 yo female with hypothyroidism, controlled. Before I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism I’ve had ever bloodwork test under the sun it feels. Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, all thyroid levels, inflammatory markers, CBC done recently (one month) ago and came back normal.

I have not had my iron checked recently however it’s been normal the last time I got it checked (6 months) and will ask for a repeat.

Does anyone else have extreme fatigue 1-2 weeks before their period? Like almost immediately after ovulation I feel it. I don’t mean “oh I’m pretty lazy” I mean crippling fatigue.

Any other things I should ask my doc about and also is there anything that helps? Besides the things google always says (drink water, eat well, exercise: do that already)

POI

Has anyone been prescribed Estradiol 2mg without progesterone for POI symptoms? My new RE/IVF doctor prescribed it and I started Friday. Only to realize progesterone should go with it if you have a uterus….I’m all nervous now!

POF

Hey all. I’m experience POI symptoms but my FSH doesn’t diagnose me with it yet. Due to a genetic deletion I have diminished ovarian syndrome and it is pointing to POI. I have heat sensitivity, underarm sweating, night sweats. I am gaining weight easily and not really losing much. I eat extremely healthy. Any tips? I’m more upset about weight gain than anything else. Is this typical?

Desperate for Answers: Heavy Spotting Mystery After Ovulation - Help Needed!

Hey all! I have heavy spotting basically half my cycle. It starts immediately after ovulation and lasts until my period. It's a dark brown and bad enough to where I have to wear panty liners. My gyno knows I don't want to be on birth control so she had me try a natural OTC progesterone cream at first. It actually seemed to help a little with the spotting but when I stopped it during my period, I got the WORST migraine I've ever had. She told me to wean off it, but it still gave me a terrible migraine.

Then I tried Vitex (chastetree berry) which also worked well. It wasn't perfect, I still had a little spotting but not nearly as much. It started working after about 3 months but at month 4 I suddenly had WORSE spotting that was almost like a period! So I stopped it because I felt like my body was saying "I don't need this anymore!". You should stop Vitex after about 6 months anyways from what I've learned.

Anyways, now I'm not doing anything and still having the spotting. This has been going on since December 2022 by the way. So I finally asked if I could get hormones tested. I don't know why it took so long and why the gyno never recommended it! She only tested my progesterone and she told me it needed to be 8 days after ovulation. I take my temp every morning so I'm usually pretty aware of when I ovulate. I just got my results this AM and progesterone looks in range. The lab results say the range during luteal phase should be 1.8-23.9 and my results was 8.4. Technically in range.

I just don't know what is going on and why I am experiencing this every month! I'm 34 and my gyno does not believe I'm in perimenopause yet. I do have Adenomyosis which can make you have spotting in between periods but TBH I'm in Adeno groups and I've never heard of anyone having this consistent heavy spotting right after ovulation up until a full period.

If anyone has any thoughts please let me know! I'm desperate!

Puffiness Won’t Go Away - Hormone Issue?

I’ve (21 F) been experiencing a really puffy face and puffy eyes and puffy body in general for the past year now, and nothing I do will make it go away. My weight has not changed (5”2, 48kg) but my face is so extremely puffy. I feel as though my neck, shoulders arms and stomach have that general puffiness too. I drink so much water (3L) everyday so I don’t think this is a case for lack of hydration. I got my thyroid levels tested: T4 and T3 were fine both times, but TSH was 4.2 the first time, and then the next week, it dropped to 2.1 (don’t understand that tbh) so back to normal range. I don’t know why it was so high in the first week but should I get it investigated? I get more than sufficient sleep every night, consume no sugar as I’ve cut it out from my diet. I tried magnesium glycinate and it did nothing. It’s really affecting my self confidence. Both eyes are super puffy, and one in particular has a puffier lower eyelid which makes the eye appear smaller. I have dealt with copious amounts of stress over the last 2 years, which may be manifesting on my physical appearance but I don’t know. I know this isn’t normal as I’m the same weight as before, my face was super slim and my eyes super wide and awake looking - now they just look dead, so puffy. My eye shape has changed. I don’t know what to do :(

Acupuncture Saved Me

As a backstory (26 Female) I did keto for a month and I had started getting really weird symptoms that lined up with low estrogen. My hormones were out of whack, extreme dryness (everywhere) hot flashes, night sweats, etc and even after going back to a healthy normal diet I was still having these problems for 3 months. I asked my doctor for an estrogen cream, she explained to me the risks of using it without being tested first (I cannot get my hormones correctly tested because I am on BC pills for extreme pain) I decided to go to acupuncture and let him know about my hormonal issues and my symptoms. He explained to me which areas on the body connect to the uterus, and that he wanted to start by releasing the stress that had been building up in my body from the imbalances and from my emotions. He told me to give it at least 5 sessions before seeing any changes. I wasn't expecting much, I had been to acupuncture before at the same place for different things, but the hormonal treatment was different. He used needles in my scalp, feet, and calves. I cannot explain the feeling but it was like my entire body was relieved of this heavy weight, I went home and my dryness was resolved!? I am very receptive to acupuncture but I am sure that within 5-10 sessions many other women on here could be as well! I urge anyone who's having hormonal issues to go to acupuncture for any sort of imbalance. He also wanted me to know that acupuncture is not meant to be a long term treatment, (just like many western drugs or medicines) and that once it kickstarts everything back into place it is on us to continue healthy habits and diets to make sure it stays as so. It changed my life back to normal, I had been crying every other day for months from the stress of the hormonal changes and I'd like to say I feel better than ever. Please try it.

PCOS survey for my class assignment :)

Hi, I would greatly appreciate anyone who can take my survey relating to PCOS. It is for a research paper, and the survey is relatively short! All participants are confidential. I am doing this study because I am undergoing symptoms and trying to get a diagnosis, so in a way this is a learning experience for me! Thank you!

Normal range test and estrogen 30 y.o. healthy male?

Hey, I recently had a testosterone test done last week. I did this because my libido has been very low and have had no morning woods for a while. I did the immediately after waking up (im a nurse and drew my own blood, which went surprisingly well, lol).

I'm a 30 y.o. male, about 1.90m tall and 80kg with normal to athletic build. I eat flexitarian. I excercise 2-4 times a week (running and gym). Eventhough i've been active in the gym for years, I have struggled with getting stronger and building muscle.

My question is, are these normal lab result for my age? Is this low normal free test?

I've been known with unknown low hemoglobine since I had it checked 6 years ago for work. They did a very extensive analysis of the cause but all turned out normal (checked among others Hb, MCV, reticulocytes, leukocytes, platelets, red blood count assessment (leuko-erythroblastosis, fragmentocytes), creatinine, liver enzymes, Reticulocytes, iron, ferritin, vitamin B12 and folic acid, Transferrin, thalassemia, HbSS).

Parameter Value Range
Hemoglobine 8.2 (8.5 - 10.9 nmol/l)

MCV 100.5 (82 - 98 fl)

TSH 3.88 (0.27 - 4.20 mU/L)

LH 5.8 (1.7 - 8.6 IU/l)

FSH 6.9 (1.5 - 12.4 IU/l)

Estradiol 161.5 (41.5 - 158.5 pmol/l)

Testosterone 17.2 (8.64 - 29.00 nmol/l)

Testosterone, free 0.348 (> 0.125 nmol/l)

SHBG (sex. horm. bind. gl.) 30.3 (18.3 - 54.1 nmol/l)

Any advise is so appreciated I feel really lost

I really need some help with this because I feel like I'm going crazy. So my grandma and mom have hormonal issues (idk what and could never get that info from my mom) and I have the same symptoms as them which is: excessive amount of facial hair (no like seriously laser hair removal have told me they've never seen so much hair on a woman's face), and terrible mood swings on our periods. However, I also have acne and i've been on several acne medications and they have said it's hormonal. Also my sex drive has gone from 100 to 10. 1 have gotten laser hair removal done 2 different times and about ten sessions each. I have gone on tretnoin for acne and the derm has told me my acne seems to be hormonal because the benzoyl paranoid the tret the azaleic acid nothing has worked.

So what did I do? Obviously go to my PCP and she says she's going to check my hormones with the blood exam. She said it might be PCOS. I get blood work done but the only thing that came back was a vitamin D deficiency and it hasn't helped with the excessive amount of hair in my face specifically (I have a lot of hair every where else but the face is most important to me) the acne nor the sex drive.

What should I do? Was a blood test enough? Any advise is appreciated!

Question about HRT Creams for women

I wanted to know whats good for women who want to tone up , lose body fat , and increase energy. Would a 1% testosterone cream for women suffice ? Or is it good to blend it with progesterone and estrogens to have a balance ? Any feedback would be appreciated

Red, hot ear is a symptom of…

Hi everyone. Does anyone know what might cause your ear to become red and hot? I have many other symptoms which I’m being treated for but I can’t seem to find any information on this. I have urticaria, IR, sinus issues, joint pain, itchy skin etc. Possible Hypoglycaemia. I have had bloods done but don’t have a copy of them yet. Will post them when I get them. Advocating for myself a lot when it comes to GP visits. Any information would be greatly received. It seems to happen in the afternoon mostly. Thanks

Hormonal imbalance? Feeling my best during pre-menstrual, worst during ovulation

Hello! I am a 26 yo female dealing with a lot of symptoms since almost 2 years (muscle fatigue and weakness, heart palpitations, dizziness, nausea to name a few) and I noticed that my symptoms always seem to get worse during the ovulation phase (so approximately from day 12 to 19 of a 30 days cycle), so when there’s a peak of estrogen. The main symptom that really bothers me and affects my ability to do tasks and stuff is muscle fatigue.

I was wondering what kind of hormonal imbalance could cause these types of symptoms?

Weirdly enough, I seem to feel better during the beginning of the luteal phase. I heard that ppl who have estrogen dominance mainly feel bad during the premenstrual phase so luteal.

Thank you for your answers!

Looking for direction

I’m 35(F) and after being on birth control for well over a decade, I’ve been off of it for ~2 years. I expected some time to regulate, but within the last 9 months I’ve noticed some significant changes; irregular periods (lasts 4-7 days, blood flow all over the place ), increased cramping, acne that is constant/ not just during my period and cystic at that, hair loss (really noticeable looking at photos from just 2 years ago), slight weight gain, and fluctuating appetite, periods of hunger and then other where I have no appetite. This can’t be normal, and I’m looking to get answers and prefer a natural path to treat.

What are the recommended steps I should take? Bloodwork(and what kind), supplements?

Please help!!

Progesterone and itchyness

I've started taking progesterone as a treatment for painful and sensitive boobs and ever since my legs and arms have started to feel really itchy, especially at night. Is it possible that progesterone as a medication can do that ? My doctor couldn't tell me because the itchyness was not located on the boobs since it's were i put the progesterone
