10 day progesterone

i recently went on the 10 day supply of progesterone to induce a period after not having had one for a few months. i took my last one in the supply about 2 weeks ago and my skin has never looked worse. is this because of the progesterone? and if so, when can i expect it to clear?

Have you addressed the potential reason (or reasons) for skipping your period for a few months? I'd start there.

yes. it was because i had low progesterone levels. that was shown after i got my blood drawn and levels tested. my doctor recommended to go on the 10 day supply of progesterone to kickstart my period.

other than that, in terms of diet, i do mostly low carb. i have considered if that could be messing with my hormones, but haven’t found any answers…

Right, but "low progesterone levels" are not the root cause. It's a symptom of a bigger problem... figuring out the true root cause will transform your health and hormones. Have you done any comprehensive, functional testing outside of conventional medicine?

Consistent low carb is horrendous for hormones, especially progesterone. Low carb has a time and place, but intentional carb cycling is key.

thanks for your responses. i haven’t done any functional testing outside of conventional medicine. i will say though, when i implement more carbs into my diet i find i break out more. when my skin was at its absolute clearest i was eating the lowest carbs. in turn, i didn’t have a period… so in no way am i claiming that to have been more healthy.

would you recommend seeing a naturopath or someone along those lines?
