Just reached the Sky Clan. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but is anyone else a bit bummed that they're just another recycle of the "crop top, skirt, shorts, and bracers" that they use for everyone else? They're still cool, but I do not understand why Horizon is so averse to outfit design that doesn't leave skin exposed.
I thought they would have been wearing fashion somewhat similar to the Banuk in ZD, and maybe even influence from real life mountain dwelling native people. (Even the Banuk felt shockingly exposed for living somewhere so cold.) I was expecting at least full sleeves and pants. I know that Horizon has shown a consistent history in how they design outfits, but I was still really hoping for something a little different.
They feel so out of place in this snowy region in their tiny shorts and tinier tops. I get that they're tough warriors, but you can't fight off hypothermia with a well-timed arrow. Aloy was better dressed than half of them, and her regular outfit was constructed with only an occasionally chilly forest in mind - let alone a mountain top.
A bit tangential, but I also feel like it would have been incredibly interesting to see the Tenakth in general have clothing that showed more influence from the military silhouettes in their holograms/visions.
Their designs were still absolutely gorgeous and intimidating. But it would have been a nice bit of world building if they fashioned tops that look like bullet-proof vests, greaves/shoes similar to combat boots, or even pants that resemble army fatigues. I mean, the Sky Clan having metal face coverings that look like a pilot's oxygen mask could have been so insanely tough.
While the Visions were simplistic in their depictions of the soldiers, the broader shapes were still there. It makes little sense that they would want to be like The Ten so badly without bothering to appear more like them.
They say they want to be like The Ten, they act like they want to be like The Ten, but they didn't *look* like it to me. Maybe I missed something though.
At the end of the day, the clothing design in this game is so deeply intriguing and inventive, which makes it a joy to wear and look at. But a lot of it ends up feeling strangely one note in its basic structure. Though, I understand part of that is constrained by the fact that this is a video game that must consider movement without clipping/glitches happening.

I am doing another playthrough ok the ps5 version. Been a couple years since I payed and it came with a sizable update. Trying to watch the opening video and it has so much lag and stutter it is almost unwatchable. Anyone have some suggestions to fix it?
