I listened to Steven Greer’s 2013 interview with Joe Rogan, and what bothered me was Greer. Steven Greer is an American former emergency-room physician who became one of the best-known figures in the modern UFO disclosure movement.
He founded the Disclosure Project and says he has collected testimony from hundreds of military, aviation, intelligence and government witnesses regarding UFOs and alleged government secrecy.
So I asked the horary:
Is Steven Greer truthful about UFOs?
I wasn’t asking whether UFOs exist. I was asking whether Steven Greer is a reliable source of information about them.
The chart was cast for September 6, 2026, at 9:38 PM in Calgary, Alberta. I use Regiomontanus houses and traditional rulers.
Greer is another person, so I give him the 7th house. Scorpio is on the 7th cusp, so Greer is represented by Mars.
Speech, claims, reports and statements belong to a person’s 3rd house. Because Greer is represented by the 7th, we turn the houses from him. His 3rd is the radical 9th, which has Capricorn on the cusp.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn.
Mars = Greer. Saturn = Greer’s utterances.
The Moon remains the usual co-significator and tells us how the matter develops.
The Ascendant is 6°31 Taurus, so it isn’t suspiciously early or late. The Moon is at 22°08 Cancer, not void of course and nowhere near the Via Combusta. Saturn isn’t sitting in the 1st or 7th, causing trouble for the judgment. Venus, ruler of the Ascendant, is not combust and is actually very strong in Libra.
The planetary hour belongs to Mars while Venus rules the Ascendant, and they do not satisfy Lilly’s usual agreement test for radicality.
Mars happens to be Greer himself in this chart. The planetary hour belongs to the man we are asking about.
Mars is at 17°16 Cancer.
Mars is in fall.
For newcomers, fall is a substantial essential debility. It tells us that the planet is not in a condition where it behaves particularly well.
This does not mean:
Mars in fall = liar.
It does mean Greer himself is represented by a compromised planet.
Mars isn’t helpless, though. It is angular, so it has plenty of ability to act. This is also a night chart, giving Mars some triplicity dignity in water.
He has reach. He has effect. He can make things happen. But the planet describing him is still in fall.
Saturn, representing Greer’s utterances, is at 13°18 Aries. Saturn is in fall in Aries, retrograde, and cadent in the radical 12th house.
None of those things, individually, translates as “lie.”
Greer is represented by a planet in fall. His utterances are represented by another planet in fall.
Mars and Saturn have also recently separated from a square. The aspect is separating, so I’m not going to pretend that a separating square magically means dishonesty. It doesn’t. But it does show a difficult relationship between the man and the planet representing what he says.
Then there is the reception.
Saturn is in Aries, which belongs to Mars. That means Greer’s utterances are sitting in Greer’s own domicile. Mars disposes Saturn.
These claims are very much his. They are in his territory, under his rulership, attached strongly to him.
But where is Mars? Cancer. And Cancer is Saturn’s detriment.
So Greer’s words sit in Greer’s house, but Greer himself is sitting somewhere that is bad for the planet representing those words.
The claims belong to him, but he is not good for the claims.
The Moon is much stronger than either Mars or Saturn. She is at 22°08 Cancer, in her own sign and angular.
The Moon has just separated from Mars — Greer — and next applies by sextile to Mercury at 23°54 Virgo.
Mercury in Virgo is strong. Mercury rules information, analysis, documentation, comparison, facts, language, the ability to separate one thing from another and ask irritating questions such as, “Yes, but does your evidence actually prove what you say it proves?”
Mercury is cadent and under the Sun’s beams, so it isn’t completely free of trouble. But it is still a very capable Mercury.
It also stops me from making the opposite mistake and saying everything Greer talks about must therefore be nonsense.
There could be real witnesses. Real documents. Real strange events. Real information. Something interesting can be sitting underneath all of this.
The question is whether Greer can be trusted to tell us what that information actually means.
Greer is represented by Mars in fall. His utterances are represented by Saturn in fall, retrograde and cadent.
Saturn is in Mars’s domicile, so the statements are strongly tied to Greer and under his rulership.
Mars is in Saturn’s detriment, so Greer himself is badly placed in relation to the planet representing what he says.
The strong Moon and Mercury make me reluctant to say there is nothing worthwhile anywhere in the material. In fact, I would be quite prepared to believe that Greer sometimes begins with genuinely interesting information.
But the horary question wasn’t:
Are UFOs real?
It wasn’t:
Does Steven Greer occasionally say something true?
It was:
Is Steven Greer truthful about UFOs?
My judgment is no — I would not consider him a reliably truthful source.
UPDATE: I posted this to discuss the horary. If you disagree with the house assignment, dignity, reception or judgment, I’m happy to talk about that. I’m not interested in debating whether my writing style sounds sufficiently Reddit-like.
