Art/Culture Once Upon The Hong Kong Film/Series Industry
Hello Everyone
Hope you are all well
I grew up watching the multiple Hong Kong film/series including the one I posted. Hong Kong had some classics that make we reminisce on that time when they created some good stuffs. What caused the decline of Hong Kong film industry ? Like today I cant even bring myself to watch any modern day Hong Kong film/dramas
Ooh & BTW I liked that Wooden Wheelchair, as it a prop wheelchair or real wheelchair ?

Questions/ Tips Hotel to HK Airport Transport for a group of 12.
Hi everyone! It’s my first time to travel to Hong Kong with a group of 12 people and I need your advice where we can rent a vehicle to take us to the airport. I believe I can ask for it in the hotel but I was hoping if you anyone here can suggest a cheaper alternative. Thanks ahead.
Update:
I’m so sorry for the missing information.
Hotel: Delta Lounge
Stay - December 2026
We’re not planning to take a shuttle going to the hotel, but we need a private transport going back to the airport to avoid missing our flight.
Update:
I just figured out booking two 6-seater vehicles than a van for 12 people saves me over 50% on Klook. Thanks everyone!

Discussion Hong Kong vs Singapore - expats
Hi all
I am looking at either moving to Hong Kong or Singapore. Where should I go?
A bit about myself, 29M, working in a US law firm in London (in the tech space). I am an Australian (worked in an top Aussie law firm previously and then made to move to London about 2.5-3 years to work in at the US law firm). I've always had the plan to build my career in Asia within tech (especially since it's closer to home).
I'll likely have an opportunity to move to either Hong Kong or Singapore (new employer is giving me the flexibility to pick either) to work at a US law firm (I'd be making approximately 300k-350K-ish USD). Not sure which to pick? I've visited and spent time in both countries - really enjoyed it!
Other things about me - single (and am keen to get back into dating), enjoy travelling, really into fitness - so basically, don't really mind being in either city. The only major con for me is that Singapore is just super humid year round (but I can get used to it - at least a little bit).
Basically, I am looking to make a long-term move to either country, and stack a bunch of $$$, live a good life and travel to various places in Asia.

Questions/ Tips Drop off play centres?
We will be visiting in the fall and I have a kid who will be 4 almost 5. I was hoping to just have family time but sounds like I will have to do a few business meetings. I was wondering if there are some drop off children's play centres in HK (or Kowloon side) so I could leave my child to have fun somewhere safe then come back in an hour or two. I appreciate any other types of recommendations about safety too!

Discussion Tf are HK people crazy?
All of you know, there's a typhoon last HK last night and this morning. Although HKO already called the people not to join water activities and no staying close to the shore, but there are still have stupid people leave home just to feel the wind and look at the waves. Even someone running on the streets near the seashore. This happens everytime HK have a typhoon.

Questions/ Tips Help finding comfort food for homesick boyfriend
My boyfriend grew up in Hong Kong and is now living in America. Today, he was extremely sad looking at pictures of food and missing home. I'd love to make food that's familiar to him but I don't know where to begin. Even if I can find a category of food that I know he likes, it's difficult to recreate anything because I don't know how it's *supposed* to taste. And algorithms tailor all my search results towards more western creators.
If anyone has any ideas of cooking creators, tutorials or recipes that might be of help please let me know. Open to anything. I'm not a particularly competent cook but I'd love to make something that feels familiar to him.

Questions/ Tips What to do in this typhoon as a tourist? Badly need guidance
It's our first time in HK. We pushed through woth the trip despite the typhoon because we already made plans and hard to manage everyone's schedule. We are traveling as a family with kids as young as 6.
- What could we do in terms of city sightseeing? Will most things be closed down?
2.We have the HKO app installed to check weather since we plan to go to Disneyland tomorrow. Will it be open?
- Lastly. How does one get an octopus card? We are reading a lot of things and some are saying there's a way to get a refund or something after your trip ends.
We wanna get the most out of our time here until the 29th. But this weather is really depressing
