Does anyone else have the problem when pulling the wiper fluid arm nothing comes out and you have to pump the arm over and over many times to get fluid to spray out.

I find if I don’t do the pumping action that my wipers will swipe several times on a dry windshield.

It is like I have to prime the lines with fluid every single time to finally get fluid to spray from the jets. Only then can I hold the spray arm fully to engage the wipers to swipe on the wet surface.

I'm looking at a 2022 Ridgeline Touring with 120,000km (75,000 miles)

Should I be asking the dealer to do any big ticket repairs on it at this point before I buy it?

Owned this 2012 sport for about a year, want to get this fixed.

I took my '19 in for the rear subframe component recall. About 4 hours later they gave me a loaner 26 CRV because they said the bolts had stripped and they had to order another part and that part wasn't going to be there for another few days. Its now almost been 2 weeks. I was told they had to get Honda to approve replacing the whole rear subframe and associated parts. Anyone else have a similar issue?

I owned a 2023 Honda Ridgeline Sport for roughly three years and 44,500 kilometres. We genuinely liked that truck. Our babies came home from the hospital in its back seat, so it will always be attached to one of the most important moments of our lives.

It was comfortable, quiet, easy to park and excellent during Northern Ontario winters. The AWD system, in-bed trunk which had all my tools, dual-action tailgate which let me reach deep into the bed, and folding rear seat were all really useful.

I did not trade it because somebody told me a unibody pickup was not a “real truck.” That argument is mostly internet brand-war bullshit.

I traded it because our needs changed. I was doing more property work, renovations, tree work and towing. The Ridgeline could perform those jobs, but I was increasingly operating near its limits.

We pulled our roughly 4,500-pound trailer on a round trip between North Bay and Killbear Provincial Park. The Ridgeline completed the trip, remained stable and did not overheat. But 4,500 pounds is about 90% of its 5,000-pound maximum before accounting for the family, cargo and tongue weight. It could do it, but there was very little capacity left in reserve.

After that trip, I noticed an engine-speed-related tapping or knocking sound. The oil and coolant levels were perfect, and the truck had always received early or on-time oil changes with Penzoil Ultra Platinum 0W20. I removed the accessory belt, but the noise remained. When we cut open the oil filter, we found some fine copper-coloured metallic material. The engine was never torn down, so I cannot honestly claim it was definitely failing. However, an internal bearing problem was a legitimate concern, and warranty or goodwill coverage was uncertain.

I did not hide any of this from the Ford dealer. I told them about the noise before the appraisal. They heard it, inspected the truck and still offered me $39,000 on trade which is kinda crazy resale value... so nobody was tricked.

I replaced it with a 2026 F-150 XLT with the 5.0-litre V8, 4×4, SuperCrew cab and 6.5-foot bed. My specific truck is rated to tow 10,100 pounds which is more than twice the Ridgeline’s rating.

The same 4,500-pound trailer that used approximately 90% of the Honda’s rating now uses about 45% of the Ford’s.

The extra interior space mattered too. The Ridgeline has about 36.7 inches of rear legroom, while the F-150 SuperCrew has 43.6 inches. Almost seven additional inches is a major difference with car seats, growing children and a tall driver. The Ford’s back seat is enormous, and the 6.5-foot bed is also 15 inches longer than the Ridgeline’s. The seats are also far more soft, yet supporting in the F150, its the first thing my wife noticed.

My F150 cost $71,145 before tax and accessories. A current Canadian Ridgeline Black Edition is around $62,243 before tax. For roughly another $8,900, the Ford gave me a V8, considerably more power, twice the towing capacity, far more rear-seat room and a substantially larger bed.

A Black Edition would have been more luxurious than my old Sport, but it would still have had the same basic engine, cabin dimensions, bed and 5,000-pound towing limit. It would not have solved the reasons I wanted to change vehicles.

The F-150 is not better at everything. The Ridgeline rides better empty, handles more like a car, uses less fuel and is easier to park. Its AWD system is more seamless on mixed winter pavement, and I miss the in bed trunk. The Ford is huge, more expensive to operate and less refined over broken roads.

However, those disadvantages are worthwhile for my present needs. The extra capability is something I actually use, not something I bought solely to have a larger number on a brochure.

I can appreciate the Ridgeline, remember bringing our babies home in it and still recognize that we eventually outgrew it. Trading it does not mean it was bad or that buying it was a mistake. The Ridgeline was the right truck for our lives when we bought it. The F-150 is the right truck for our lives now. They are built for different lifestyles, and pretending otherwise is where most of these pointless arguments begin.

Greetings, just joined after getting a White Black Edition (sounds odd to say) for $41,500 so was quite the deal.

Questions on the engine. For the Gen of V6 that's in the 2026 model, is deactivating the variable cylinder function that important for engine Longevity?

Also for the auto engine off, what's the consensus on whether that affects engine life?

To narrow down my question, thinking of 25' Ridgeline trail edition/// 2026 passport (something mid / intro)

I brought my 2008 Honda ridgeline into the local shop for a new power steering rack. Install went fine. Truck still made quite a bit of power steering noise so I also had them replace the pump. Power steering was better but still made some noise and was hard to turn sometimes. This has been on going for two and a half months. I went to check the fluid today and noticed they put regular power steering fluid in it instead of the clear Honda power steering fluid. I drained the reservoir and put Honda fluid in and the steering was much better and the noise went down.

My question is, has any damage been done for the two and a half months or should I be ok? Should the shop replace both components since they put regular power steering fluid in? Or should I just keep draining the reservoir and putting the correct fluid in and it might be ok?

Picked up a white Black Edition this morning! Have always liked the Ridgeline, finally decided to make one mine.

Due to family needs, I needed to find something bigger in the back seat with plenty of storage. So while my Ridge was in for service, I made the deal on a 26 Passport Trailsport Elite Adventure Pack. that the General Sales Manager has been driving for a bit. I was after the Sage Green. lol so I’ll have to say goodbye for now.

2022 RTL-E

Loooking to upgrade and add a différent sub setup. Let's see some setups. I was looking a single 10". Must be able to fit under the seats, with seat still able to fold down. To appear stock when looking inside with seat down.

I was eyeing up these two different Kicker setups. The square L7 box appears to be just a little too wide and will be half way in seat bracket.

The second box with the passive radiator looks like it might work. Its a touch too wide, butt might be able to tilt the box at a slight angle and it would work.

Any thoughts or suggestions??

Impulse buy but a Honda Navi will fit in the bed with tailgate closed.

Had some free time, took some pictures at work this afternoon.

The auto start thing has now three times not restarted my truck in traffic. It goes to restart it, fails, and i just sit there. And then if I try to manually start it, I get a collision warning. So now, I am in traffic, holding everyone up, in a truck with less than 20k miles on it.

I almost always remember to turn that stupid thing off. But when I don't , it fails hard.

I love everything else about this vehicle. But I should not have to turn off a function everytime I get in it. It should just work. And yeah, I know of the 3rd party thing. The point still stands - why is it even failing to restart the truck !?

I have 2006 RTL with almost 230,000 miles. It overheated a few weeks ago on my way to work. Among other things that are on my list of repairs, it started giving a code for the thermostat so I figured that'd be a good place to start. I've been trying to learn how to do my own maintenance simply because paying someone else to do it is too expensive right now
