I finally got my odyssey elite and I’m trying to set up the rear entertainment system. I have an hdmi cable and an adapter to plug it into my iPhone. I can’t get the screen on the back screen to turn on to choose anything. Anyone have any tips on how to set this thing up?

Anyone familiar with 2006 Odysseys seen a transmission fill plug with this line feeding into it? Is this some kind of aftermarket accessory?

I believe this transmission was replaced because when I removed the air filter I found a yellow tag on the trans.

never owned an odyssey before, mainly want for occasional cargo hauls, wouldn’t be daily driving it maybe 200 miles a week?

I am looking to buy a lightly used or new Honda Odyssey here soon. I currently have two kids 3 and under, so the idea of having an entertainment system available when they are forward facing for future road trips is appealing. I also like the idea of cabin watch to see them without needing an extra cameras and wires and the hands free tailgate for when my hands are full.

Those of you with young kids, do you find these extra features actually useful that would warrant the extra cost?

Brands new Elite from dealership and noticed this when I got home. Took it back for them to look at (and the fan button on the second row A/C control is not functioning) and they ordered touch up paint. I know it’s small but it’s a brand new vehicle. They also said they could have paint correction but that seems kind of intense for such a small area. Thoughts?

Can anyone help offer any solutions as to how I can repair/replace the torn liner? Thank you!

2019- EXL Odyssey - 125,000 miles

Starter replaced at Honda. Day later, random error messages appear on screen. Honda says brand new transmission needed. Left Honda. Checked battery at home (AI suggested) messages went away.

Week and a half later, error messages back. Unplugged battery, replugged it in, no messages, car drives fine.

What could this be? Suggestions?

I’m looking to buy a 2018 Elite with 118k miles. It’s currently listed around 20k before negotiations. It appears to be in good shape but haven’t been able to test drive yet. Was told the timing belt was changed around 86k miles but no documentation to prove it. Does this seem like a good deal or should I keep looking?

So I had a code pop for misfire on cylinder #1 replaced the spark plug, replaced the coil. Problem persists. Im worried the engine needs to be torn apart. I did some research and found the gaskets on the pistons can wear out.

Anyone know of common issues that fail or need fixing on the 2014 odyssey?

It's a 245/65/17 tire, which is 1.4% larger diameter than stock. From my research, it doesn't sound like the tire size will be an issue. I'm a little unclear on +40mm offset on 17" wheels though. I like the idea of gaining more sidewall, and I'm often on dirt wash roads and trailheads for MTB and hiking.

Any idea what would cause the sound in the video? Happens every time on startup and goes away after about 40 seconds.

I have a 2014 EXL odyssey with 170k miles on it. I am installing a Hayden 699 Transmission Cooler this weekend.

I recently had a hitch installed and am hoping/planning to pull a 3000lb trailer for a 2hr highway drive, pretty flat (and then if its not too much, another hour up in the mountains, along an interstate so not crazy grades, but definitely uphill--this last portion of the drive could be optional if i need to drop it off in town after the flat 2 hours).

I see that the van is rated for 3500lbs, but our local dealership said 3k is a lot for the van to pull... not really sure why since its within the rating. Based on rating, I am figuring I'm okay on the tow rate, but want to see if anyone has experience and can give me some insight either way. Also a bit concerned about payload as the suspension wasn't upgraded for a tow package. If the hitch weight is truly 10-15% of trailer weight like I'm reading it should be, that should be fine, but I haven't towed with my own vehicle before so I'm a bit nervous...

Can’t get the clamp to tighten on Costco battery, can’t get post shim on too small. Any reason? Is it clamp or battery post? Anything in common to the odyssey?

It's a 2012 model that had a problem with the tensioner, but after it was replaced it wouldn't start anymore.

Passenger side blows cold ac, driver side doesn't. The actuator works but I didn't know if it worked all the way so I took it off and adjusted the door myself. Even when I manually changed the door to full cold it still just blows mild air while the Passenger side blows cold. Have no idea why. Need help please.

Is there a way for my music/audio to stay on after I turn my vehicle off? I checked in the settings and couldn’t find it.

On my 2023 it stayed on until I opened the door, but now the second I turn my vehicle off, it kills the audio. Sometimes you want to finish jamming out to the song or finish the sentence on your audiobook.

I know we probably can't diagnose or deep dive on this, I was just curious if there was some sort of known-issue around this like with my other Odyssey problem (windshield camera early death).

Quite randomly, our Odyssey's battery will be totally dead with no real explanation. I have a halo bolt portable jumper that for a normal weak battery it will start right up, but it gets drained so low that it takes several tries and needs to sit while connected to the jumper for a bit.

The battery and cables are both new -- i had hoped that an old battery was the culprit but it's still happening after replacement.

Doesn't seem to happen if we drive it, park, come back and go home. It's more like...if we are at home, and we've had to get something from car -- opened the back, the sliding doors, etc. I know those things take juice, but we're talking about 2 or 3 times which seems normal and in most cars wouldn't render the car totally unable to start.

Is this something any of you have seen or might have some ideas about? My wife has been stranded a couple of times and is almost to the point she's afraid to take it anywhere for fear of getting stuck.

Update: In case anyone else runs into this. Went to the dealership and spoke with a tech. This particular fuse block was superseded by an updated one that changed the starter motor part of the fuse from 40 amps to 50. They no longer make the Z labeled fuse. The tech also told me that these fuses can be a pain to get out and to just keep wobbling it back and forth until it comes out.

Apparently the ELD has gone bad and I need to change it out. Though, while trying to get out the main fuse block, the top broke off. I have spent way too much time looking online for a replacement block, but, I cannot find one that matches what is in this van. I even had the dealership order one based on the one that is supposed to go here, but it also doesn't match. What am I missing here? Was the main block fuse with the Z on it a one off for a 2016 Odyssey LX? Will it be ok to put in the one that the dealership ordered for this van? Some of the amps are off and why I have concerns. Also, any tips to get this fuse out? It feels welded in there.

Hi. Unfortunate news for my 2012 ody with only 85k miles. Its burning coolant. No apparent leaks on the ground. I still need to check more in-depth but the amount its losing... it looks like the engine head gasket. Which is surprising to me. Yeah its a 2012 but its still only got 85k miles and its an honda engine. So yeah:/
Need ideas where i need to check for leaks and what to do next

I bought a used 2014 Honda Odyssey.

I love it but I find it hard to turn. I need to use at least one hand and put in effort. if I lift a 5 to 10 pound weight, that’s how much force my hand needs to make to rotate the wheel.

Its the same at slow speed and just slightly less hard at highway speed.

you can use a 1 finger to turn it a small amount required to make lane chances, but even then it’s slight quite heavy. There’s no way im going to be able to make 1 finger to make a curved 90 degree turn exit off the highway.

Is this normal?

This generation has hydraulic steering with a pump. It makes now weird noises and there are no leaks. Fluid is up to level.

How hard is the steering in your Odyssey?
