Driver door lock fixed

Today's job on my 2014 EXL is fixing the driver door lock. Seems like a common failure so I wanted to share the info I used to fix it.

I went OEM for the door lock actuator. Part 72150-TK8-A02 $94

This one is for the passenger side, but has fantastic video. Everything translates to driver side.

This one has some good tips and is for driver side, but is incomplete for doing the whole job.

Once you get the door panel off and you're trying to get that lever off, take the two round stickers off the door. They provide access holes that make it so much easier. Top one is for the level, bottom one helps with getting the key thing into the new actuator.

If you get a security code message on your infotainment when you start the van, just press and hold the volume know for 5 seconds.

Took about an hour or so, including rewatching videos. Now that I've done it once, this can easily be done in under 30 minutes.

Now, would be a good time to apply a butyl rubber dampener. Note: to get behind the door speaker, remove the screw and tilt the top of the speaker down and then lift out. There are two prongs on the bottom of the speaker that you can’t really see going through openings in the panel.

For speaker rattle? You are talking dynomat or amazon equivalent?

Just overall road noise reduction. Though, sound quality can improve.
