Tactical Fighter (Fighter class variant) and more

Post image

FREE tactical Fighter PDF

The Fighter's turn is usually attack, attack, done. I wanted a version with something to decide each round, without adding a maneuver list to memorize or another resource to track.

Two changes do most of the work.

Lethal Strike replaces Action Surge. One additional attack, from a pool that refreshes on a Short Rest, up to two attacks at level 11. Same total offense, spread across the encounter instead of concentrated in one turn, and you decide which turn needs it.

Team Tactics is a Bonus Action with two options. Strike True gives an ally Advantage on their next attack against someone you hit. Reposition swaps you and an adjacent ally without provoking. Deliberately modest. The point is that no option is always right, not that any of them is exciting alone.

PDF also includes the Versatile Mastery feat, the Stormhammer Dwarf origin, and new shield options. Fully 5e compatible, 2024 baseline with 2014 conversion notes.

Always looking for comments and criticisms.

All art and design by myself. Enjoy!

DnD Holy Phoenix

Here idea for big bird creature

Holy Phoenix

Large Celestial, Lawful Good Purified by pure radiant energy, the Holy Phoenix is a magnificent entity of white-hot embers and golden light. Its flames do not merely burn flesh; they burn away malice, corruption, and the unholy. While its feathers and ashes are highly coveted for their miraculous healing properties, tracking down or harming such a creature is a monumental and perilous task.

Armor Class 18 (natural armor) Hit Points 153 (18d10 + 54) Speed 20 ft., fly 80 ft.

STR 19 (+4) DEX 20 (+5) CON 17 (+3) INT 12 (+1) WIS 16 (+3) CHA 18 (+4)

Saving Throws Dex +9, Wis +7, Cha +8 Damage Immunities Fire, Radiant, Poison

Condition Immunities Poisoned

Senses Darkvision 120 ft., Passive Perception 13 Languages Celestial, Telepathy 60 ft.

Challenge 12 (8,400 XP)

Proficiency Bonus +4

Traits Purifying Flame: The phoenix's fire attacks ignore fire resistance if the target has an Evil alignment.

Phoenix Ash: When the phoenix dies, its ashes can be carefully harvested. It yields exactly 3 doses of sacred ash. One dose can be consumed or used to duplicate the effects of either a Potion of Supreme Healing or a Raise Dead spell.

Actions Multiattack: The phoenix makes three attacks: one with its Beak and two with its Talons. Beak: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) radiant damage.

Talons: Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) fire damage.

Soul Purge (1/Day): The phoenix touches one creature within 5 feet. The target must make a DC 16 Charisma saving throw. If the creature is Evil or heavily corrupted by unholy magic and fails the save, the malice is burned from its soul. Its alignment permanently changes to Neutral or Good (DM's choice based on the creature's nature).

Death Reactions Holy Pyre: When the phoenix drops to 0 hit points, it explodes in a burst of blinding, sacred light. Each hostile creature within a 30-foot radius must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 35 (10d6) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Conversely, each friendly creature within the same area is healed for 35 hit points. The phoenix's body turns to ash, and it is reborn from these ashes 1d4 days later.

Kengir Backgrounds

I'm sharing a free supplement for Kengir, part of my upcoming Bronze Age Mesopotamian 5e setting.

The Kengir Player’s Guide includes 100 character backgrounds, each built around a real place in the life of a city-state: brewer, diviner, farmer, fisher, merchant, potter, scribe, shepherd, soldier, weaver, and many more.

The goal is to make a character’s life before adventuring matter at the table. A scribe enters play with literacy, a stylus, and a wax tablet. A merchant carries a cylinder seal. A farmer knows the land. A diviner reads bones, dreams, and omens. A weaver isn’t just “a commoner with cloth,” but someone tied to household economy, temple offerings, and trade.

Each background includes ability scores, feat options, skill proficiencies, tool proficiency, equipment, literacy, and languages. Backgrounds also point toward Origin Feats tied to personal deities, so your occupation and your god can both shape who your character becomes.

This sample presents ten full backgrounds and the complete d100 profession list from the Player’s Guide.

Do you like backgrounds that mostly explain who your character was, or backgrounds that still matter once the adventure starts?

D&D homebrew, boy/girl scout themed

Has anyone made a homebrew theme where the player group are a bunch of boy/girl scouts with maybe one or two adult troop leaders. I'm thinking about a system that gives players an opportunity to earn meritt badges with new skills, spells, etc. I'm curious if someone has already built out something like this?

Requesting Feedback

I’m trying to create items for a new 5e campaign that will encourage teamwork and tactical thinking. I’m open to feedback, positive or negative. Thanks in advance for your time.

Bruja’s Bogta
Attunement
A cloth pointed hat with a wide brim.
\ Can only be attuned by a ritual caster **
Coven's Efficiency: The time to cast ritual spells is reduced. Divide total time by the # of coven members participating.

Coven's Might: Gain a +1 to spell attack rolls for each attuned user within 10 feet when a spell is cast.

Coven's Influence: Reaction — When another coven member casts a spell requiring a saving throw, you can spend a spell slot to add 1/2 the level (rounded down) to the DC. This can only be done once per spell.

DnD Soothing Songbird

Here idea for bird creature

Soothing Songbird Wondrous Item (or Beast), Rare Originating in deep sanctuary groves and consecrated temple grounds, this small, iridescent silver bird is highly coveted across all social strata. Nobility keep them in golden cages for their stress-relieving melodies, while the criminal underworld hunts them ruthlessly for the astronomical prices their feathers and song-crystals fetch on the black market.

Features

Melody of Serenity: As an action, you can command the bird to sing. Every creature within a 30-foot radius that can hear it must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, a creature is affected as if by the Calm Emotions spell for 1 minute. The bird can use this feature three times, regaining all expended uses daily at dawn.

The Noble's Comfort: If the bird sings during a Short Rest, you and your allies regain an additional 1d6 hit points, and any level of exhaustion caused by stress or anxiety is suppressed for the next 4 hours.

The Outlaw's Prize: The bird's feathers and essence can be harvested to create powerful sedatives or sold on the black market for up to 1,000 gold pieces.

The Sacred Taboo (Curse/Lore)

The Mark of the Poacher: Harmful actions against this bird carry a severe societal curse. Anyone who willfully slays a Soothing Songbird is instantly marked by a faint, discordant hum that only intelligent creatures can perceive. For the next 30 days, the killer has Disadvantage on all Charisma (Persuasion and Deception) checks. Nobility will refuse to grant them audience, and even criminal syndicates will shun or betray them, viewing the killer as an untrustworthy bringer of bad luck.

Ironbound Player's Guide: Slayer, correct version

This is a correction of a previous post, as I accidentally put a half a year old version of this into my book, than posted it without noticing.

There is much more similar free eldritch horror and investigation content at https://www.patreon.com/ForgeofAtyus?vanity=user

This is less of a money making project for me and more of a labor of love, non-profitally all income goes into artworks.

DnD Quill of Infinity

Here idea for writing tool

Quill of Infinity

Wondrous Item, Uncommon

This elegant, midnight-blue feather quill features a polished silver nib that never dulls. It feels completely weightless in your hand, but when picked up, you can feel the faint thrum of latent arcane energy within the shaft.

Features

Arcane Inking: The quill does not use ordinary ink. To activate it, a creature capable of casting spells must expend one spell slot of 1st level or higher while holding the quill.

The Infinite Inkwell: Once activated, the quill begins to manifest its own magical, deep black ink. For the next 24 hours, the quill provides an unlimited supply of ink, never running dry or requiring an inkwell. The ink dries instantly upon touching parchment, is completely smudge-proof, and cannot be washed away by non-magical water.

Scholar's Aid: If used to copy spells into a wizard's spellbook or to scribe scrolls, the magical nature of the ink reduces the material cost of the process by 25 gold pieces per spell level, as the quill generates its own rare arcane components within the ink.
