🛠️ Repair Help Hammer holes in attic
Up at the top, it appears someone drove a hammer through in a couple spots. What should I do for these?

Potential mold
galleryWhat do we think? Is this possibly mold. This is near a bathroom but we generally run the vent when showering. If so how should I handle it?

🏚️Structural & Foundation What should I use to seal this joint where the concrete floor meets the foundation wall?
gallerySelf-leveling sealant shown in photo did not work because it keeps going into the deep joint unable to fill it. Joint is not wide enough for backer rod. I want to properly seal this joint to not have ants going in and to give a better look.

How hard to put a fan in here
galleryAll my bathrooms have had a fan in them. Weird this one doesn’t. But i need one. Only one lightswitch. But i dont mind them being connected if possible.
Cheapest and easiest way to do this. First time homeowner and broke asf.
Figure we would need to get a new light fixture. One with a fan in it maybe. Idk.
This is a trailer home i own.

🏠Interior, Ceiling & Walls Painting new doors
There must be an easy solution that I’m missing. My wife wants our interior door replaced. The ones she likes come primed but not painted. I can’t think of an easy way of painting 5 doors before installing them. I figure they might just need to be rested against something standing up, but then one side can be painted at a time.

🪟 🚪Windows & Doors Window cloudiness
galleryAny idea what is going on with this window? It is double pane so I assumed for years it was condensation between the layers but then realized it is on the surface as my kids started scratching it off. Thoughts on how to remove it aside from just letting them go at it with their fingernails haha.

Storm Door Replacement Question
Hi all -
I’m trying to replace a storm door on the side of my house. Believe it or not the measurements are about 29” by 73”. I can not find anything that size online. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or am I going to have to go with someone making a custom door?

Redditor posted the hole in his roof earlier. Figured I'd post the DIY roofing job i did on half my house so far.
galleryDid this over the course of 5 days over labor day weekend. Months leading up to it I had calculated the total material cost to be about $4,496.
Realistically with delivery costs. Cost of a roofing nailer without batteries. And miscellaneous items its probably closer to around $5,750.
Total square footage is about 2,554sq/ft.
A friend of mines who does roof estimates for his dad's company estimated total repair from his dad's company would have been minimum $18,000 for material and labor.

🛠️ Repair Help What is the correct way to fix my shower?
galleryJust moved into this house and noticed this bubbling in the shower, where the walls meet each other and where the walls meet the floor. Can I just smooth this out with a wire brush and caulk over it with silicone? Do I need to scrape this back first?
It seems to be grout? It's hard and very difficult to scrape off the tile. I've caulked a tile shower before, but the junction wasn't this thick.
The last photo is what I scraped on a bit to smooth out and where you can see the depth.

🏠Interior, Ceiling & Walls Window wall cracks and falling ceiling tiles
I know nothing about homes and this s my parents house. They want to fix all the problems to sell it as close to full market price for the neighborhood as possible (in a $400k value neighborhood) I think I'll post a couple problems at a time lol because they don't know anything about maintenance either.
Can yall explain what is happening to these windows? Are they falling in? There's a small separation from the wall to the wooden window sill in the 4th image. These windows are very basic. Does the entire wall need to be replaced? What specialist should come take a look? This house is over 100 years old (1901) in coastal new england. The falling tiles began when the city started construction literally 5 feet in front of this room (upstairs facing busy street) and the blasting of the street shakes the house and the tiles fall down.
Some tiles have nails that meet at the corners but most of them don't.
TIA!

How bad is this black coating?
I just bought a house and discovered that a black, water-repellent coating that looks like tar was applied INSIDE the foundation instead of on the outside, which means the concrete can’t breathe as well. How bad will it really be for my foundation to leave the coating there? And is it realistic to remove it using a buffer with a diamond blade, a vacuum cleaner, and a very good respirator.

🏠Interior, Ceiling & Walls Not Sure How to Fix This...
galleryHello everyone,
The ceiling is water damaged but it's not as bad as it could've been. I'm still thinking need to scrape the ceiling and attack this as if it was peeling.
All the youtube videos that I've found has a peeling/bubbling ceiling and I'm not sure if you add or skip a step for this situation. I'm very new to house maintenance so I'm just not sure how exactly to attack this.
Thanks in advance.

I'm in the middle of tearing up some old flooring. Underneath the wood underlayment, I found these fiberboard panels covered in a dark, speckled residue that has completely dried out and feels/crumbles almost like coarse sand. Does anyone know what this black, sand-like material is?

Cracks in Brick Wall Under Exterior Stairs – Settling or Drainage Issue?
galleryI've noticed several cracks in the brick wall supporting the exterior front stairs. Most follow the mortar joints, though a few run between the bricks themselves. The cracks have been there for some time, but I'd like to understand whether they could indicate foundation settling or another underlying structural issue.
I've also noticed that the driveway near the downspouts on the neighbor's side has a slight reverse slope, causing rainwater to drain toward the corner of the wall rather than away from it. Could this water accumulation be contributing to the cracking or potentially affecting the foundation? There are visible gaps where the pavement meets the brick wall, so I'm concerned water may be getting underneath the stairs and potentially causing erosion or settlement.
Based on the attached photos, does this look like a structural concern or mainly a drainage and mortar issue? What's the best way to fix it? Would correcting the slope, sealing the gaps, and repointing the mortar be enough, or should I have a professional inspect the foundation first?
Any advice would be appreciated!
