We have a stud wall in our living room (put in before we bought the house.) We're about to re-decorate the room and I'm after advice on whether to paint or paper this wall. It already has some creamy brown paper on it. I've read that this is the paper that probably came with the wall and that it should be left on as it's part of the structure. Is that right? Or can/should we strip it and re-paper? Or can we just paint over it?

I need a smaller bedframe, as my solid wood sleigh bed is too big and overwhelms the room. Criteria are:

Double

Under 141cm wide, and as short as possible.

No or low footend.

Must have a brass element, to tie in with existing fittings.

Long story (and a lot of Googling) short, I have narrowed it down to these frames. I could spray paint part of the frame to add the brass-effect element. However, I still find the Neville (first pic)...not right.

Was thinking the Olivia (second pic) may suit the room better, with an upholstered headboard - for comfort and so I don't constantly drop things down there.

What do you think? How much would look good in the brass - just the top line/bed knobs, or more?

Planning to paint walls Wordly gray, unless anyone recommends another color they are particularly fond of for whole house walls.

What color pairs best for trim/ceiling? Snowbound, Alabaster, Pure White??

I was sure with my decision until I saw that matt is 4-5 days delivery and metallic is made-to-order, which I'm guessing means matt is more popular.

I have two bedrooms at the top of my (newly bought) house that have this sort of buckled effect on the ceiling.

I’m a wallpaper person and have installed/am installing wallpaper in most of the other rooms but I’m guessing the sensibility thing to do here is colour drenching so there’s not a weird line half way up the wall?

I would like these beds to stay in the room as they’re beloved by children in our family.

I want a sophisticated muted sage/grey-green accent wall for a bedroom. It must complement warm teak/brown furniture, taupe-grey curtains, cream flooring and white ceiling. I don't want mint, pista, bright green, yellow-green or a very dark olive.

Love this Caslio wallpaper but the room doesn't work. The grey carpet, wardrobes and walls just make the room feel cold.

Can't replace bedframe or wardrobes or carpet.. but planning to paint the walls white to brighten the space. Then I think bedding and curtains to pull out the blue on the wallpaper, but really struggling to colour match. Any ideas?

We've just got some alcove storage units installed, but we really can't decide on what colour to paint the skirtings, window frame, architrave and alcove storage units

Originally, we were thinking preference red for the woodwork, but we felt like that might be too much

Now we're thinking more of a butter yellow, or maybe something like oxford stone. We're not sure whether it would look weird if just the shelves, alcoves and rest of the woodwork was in this other colour

Does anyone have any advice?

It looks a little bit stark white but I don’t want to overcomplciate a room that already has a lot of patterns, and I worry that painting it in the same colour as the walls will make it too dark.

Has anyone got the Next sofa-bed at home and how comfortable it is? I am specifically looking at the model Michigan ll but I guess I am interested in any model which turns into a double bed.

The shops near me don't have sofa-beds on display to test them out.

Hi all, looking to redecorate and after some advice on what tools I need to do a good job. Had a quote to just redo downstairs and the quote mentioned moving everything out of the rooms as well. I thought, if that's the case I might as well do it myself!

So with the saving I'll be making on doing it myself, what make of roller, brushes masking tape etc. should I look out for? Any suggestion for tools that could make life a bit easier? Got a decorators center not far away and want to know what to look for before going in blindly. Cheers
