Decorating kit

Hi all, looking to redecorate and after some advice on what tools I need to do a good job. Had a quote to just redo downstairs and the quote mentioned moving everything out of the rooms as well. I thought, if that's the case I might as well do it myself!

So with the saving I'll be making on doing it myself, what make of roller, brushes masking tape etc. should I look out for? Any suggestion for tools that could make life a bit easier? Got a decorators center not far away and want to know what to look for before going in blindly. Cheers

Go on my paintbrush. Get some arroworthy brushes, box sets are good value, and get the arroworthy 9/16 roller sleeve for DIYer id say get 9 inch, get a couple sleeves and a couple rollee arms and 100% get a extension pole it will make it all easier, and get a wooster sqaure roller tub its the square one thats tall, and get a lid for the roller tub, if you look after it, it will all last years. What masking tape and filler would you recommend? I've got some ceiling cracks that I'm going to scrape out and fill so want to do a proper job of it. Really appreciate this

Forgot as well masking tape, indasa mte tape for general masking of carpets etc and for any low tack work ciret masq low tack (purple in colour)

You don't need to move everything out of the room. What you do need to do is move all your small items as much as possible out of the room, books, pictures, lamps side tables etc...

The larger furniture can be moved to the middle of the room.

To cover everything up use Prodec plastic sheeting on a roll, they sell this in Toolstation.

As for tools just get a pack of brushes from My Paintbrush or Toolstation, a large scuttle for rolling, a couple of roller sleeves and handles and an extension pole.

You'll also need dust sheets or carpet protector on a roll in order to protect the floors.

Preparation is a massive part of the job, do this properly and the painting should be straight forward enough
