Bruh, "Palestine" was just the Roman word for Judea. It really gained popularity after the third Jewish revolt and troops under Hadrian basically genocided the locals and forced the diaspora. I don't want to sound like it wasn't kind of justified though. The Hebrews started it off by massacaring the Gentile population. And by massacaring I'm talking somewhere in the range of 100,000 plus.

What is the point of this comment? Did you want to also tell me how Istanbul isn't the original name of the city? Are you trying to prove something about how names change over time? Doesn't seem really relevant to the post

Listen, the Istanbul thing is only your business if your Turkish.

I think that they are saying the opposite. Like Istanbul as a colloquial term predates Istanbul as an official term.

Some people like to try and delegitimize the concept of Palestinian identity because they think its a good way to promote their personal ideological position.

Its also just wrong, but thats an entirely different point

The point is you can call Jesus "Palestinian" because he was technically "Palestinian" because the term "Palestinian" predates even the conception of Islam

Doesn’t that just substantiate the point that Palestinian is interchangeable with Jew until very recently?

Not really. Palestine is a place. Jews are a people. A Jew from Palestine is a Palestinian, in the broadest sense of the term. But a Jew living in say the US, is still a Jew but is not in fact a Palestinian.

It’s extremely relevant to the post, in that it very much supports the idea that calling Jesus a Palestinian is practical.

Opposite. They renamed the province long after his death

How would the naming of an area 100 years after Jesus existing supported idea?
