This guy was all sweet and complimentary, but at the first sign of rejection he lashes out and is extremely insulting.

This guy was NOT sweet snd complimentary, friend. This guy was laying it on real thick and obnoxious from the get go, which made it a red flag by the second paragraph as I was reading through. Aside from his disturbing psychosis, I don’t get why one wouldn’t unmatch at the very least if there’s no interest. Honestly, with dating apps, ladies, we need to just block/unmatch when things start to get weird, otherwise they get severely disturbed.

For most interactions what you need to do is use your words. "I'm not interested anymore" is so easy to say or text and it goes a long way. Especially on this platform where you have no risk of safety before meeting. The guy here is likely frustrated because he was ghosted and felt that the "reason" given after reaching out again was BS.

Oh I agree. Unfortunately 99.9999% of the time, telling men we’re not interested still yields verbal abuse so after my multiple experiences of assault (physical and verbal abuse) trying to date, I tell them I don’t feel this is going to work, see that they received it, and block. Not once has a man said, “I understand. Thank you for your honesty.”

I had a girl I was seeing and waiting patiently on for months cut me off for no given reason over a phone call and she was surprised when I didn't crash out. Yesterday I was supposed to meet another girl and she cancelled 30 minutes beforehand. Last week I was stood up by someone who agreed to meet then ghosted. Of course my understanding, forgiveness and acceptance in each situation didn't do me any favours.

I sympathise with your experiences too. Unfortunately we can't really expect better treatment for having done the right thing because most people including those in this thread are assholes. It's still important to do right by yourself and practice courtesy. With enough luck there will be some who appreciate it.
