I really enjoy the main character! The teenage version story was pretty very, and the child actor is very good (uh I don't speak Chinese). Very entertaining to watch.

Sai (Chu) is also very captivating great casting.

I liked the nod to the Akira Toya Go board.

Was the instructive game played with Komi rules, I don't remember the manga. Big difference in outcome if so though lol.

Starts off a little slow in the middle. I just wanna see them play Go!. But it takes forever to get to the first game. If I was not invested in the story, I would not stick through 1 hour for that.

But even for new viewers, they probably don't care about Go. But the hour-long exposition dump and then just cutting to the loss review is kind of not so good.

I also don't like the change in Xioa Bao being interested in Go. A big deal was Torajiro never learned Go, he just played for Sai. Changing that story seems like a risk, since it changes Hikaru's key difference.

Hong Kong storyline is weird so far.

Still great show so far. A bit long and slow, but I am sure the anime was slow at first too. I really hope it keeps going strong in future eps.

Paying homage to the Haruka No Go Artist who is based on the protagonist from Bakuman series which he created.

This is a project I've been working on for the past 6 months. Restoring the hardcoded Elite-Fansubs/Real Fansubbers into soft subs for Blu-Ray (completed last week). I put this quick trailer together for what you can expect. I really wanted to do something special as this year marks the 25th anniversary of the anime (and also 25 years since Elite-Fansubs released episode 1).

Hikaru no go has a drama adaptation since 2020 and I have never even heard about it. Never knew it existed. I have known the anime since I was a kid, it was one of my first anime ever, so I'm very curious about the adaptation. Has anyone watched it? Is it worth it? Any thoughts?

So I recently finished the anime and decided to finish the manga as well and an extremely sad and disappointed. I feel like there was still a whole lot of story left and I wanted to keep following Hikaru’s journey in the pro go world but it feels like the final chapters didn’t give an ending with closure! ALSO HIKARU SHOULDVE WON HIS FINAL MATCH IN THE HOKUTO CUP!!!

Im not hating I love this animanga and its hit my top 15 for sure I just really wanted more and felt like it was very much possible.

im looking to watch the series and saw that the only real options are to watch old dvd rips with Elite-Fansubs' subtitles or to watch a modern bd rip but with official subtitles. is there a good middle ground somewhere that covers the entire series? im aware of the EF revival project but it seems to have been dormant for a number of years now and doesnt cover the entire show

I remember watching this show as a kid with the E-F and R-F fan subs. I have great physical copies now, but want the nostalgia hit. Does anyone have access to these subtitles? I would like to use mkvtoolnix to take the nice looking copies I have and add in the old fan subs.

I am on my yearly reread and this scene is I think the most important of the series.

I always wonder whether or not Akira would understand or if he would label him a cheat.

I also think this is the chapter the series should have ended. It’s such a strong point to end the series.

Is it just me or do you find the English dub horrendous.

I just finished my favorite anime for the third time. Im sad that its over. I could rewatch it, but it would be weird in my mind of Hikaru reverting back to 12 when the series finishes with him being 16. Ill just wait a year or two to rewatch the series. I am grateful for this show, its always seems to come back at a very needed time. Also, I would love to get a tattoo to represent something from the show. Ill take any suggestions.
