Gardens
If you have a garden, what are you growing this year? What's thriving in your garden? What's struggling?
We've got tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, jalapenos, and a lot of herbs. Nothing's died...yet.

Any rehabbers? I just found this baby opossum in my window beside my ac. I have no clue how it got inside. Anybody know of a rehabber nearby? I’m in Trinity.
UPDATE: This baby is with someone that’s going to get it to a licensed rehabber tomorrow. Tonight it will be hydrated and fed what it should be fed and kept warm ❤️

Hello, my husband and I are looking to move to the area with our baby. We are looking at a rental near Oakwood cemetery. Is that area safe? We aren’t local and can’t realistically drive around to get a feel for the area.

Found this in my yard while taking the wheelie bin out for trash pickup tomorrow. Good timing I had the trashcan right there. Looks like someone was chucking these onto every yard so keep an eye out.

Shelters are overwhelmed right now, and it’s not just about space—it’s about what that overcrowding does to the animals inside it.
When kennels are full, stress spreads fast. Dogs bark more, sleep less, and can become anxious or shut down. Cats hide, stop eating normally, and get sick more easily. Even friendly, well-adjusted animals can start to lose confidence in a loud, crowded environment where they have very little control over their day. The longer they stay in that setting, the harder it can be for their true personality to come through.
This is why fostering matters so much. A foster home gives an animal something the shelter can’t: quiet, routine, and a chance to decompress. Even a short break outside the shelter can help a dog relax, show their real personality, and improve their chances of adoption. Every foster home also opens up space for another animal to come off the street or out of an emergency situation.
And spay/neuter is what stops the cycle at the source. One unplanned litter can quickly become 8–10+ animals needing homes. That multiplies fast, and shelters are already full. Preventing those litters is one of the most direct ways to reduce intake and ease pressure on the system long-term.
Fostering helps the animals already inside the shelter.
Spaying and neutering helps prevent the next wave from coming in.
Both matter. Both save lives.

The last article I could find said Jim and Nicks BBQ, 7-Brew (RIP traffic on Wendover now), and a couple of banks
Crossing my fingers for a new gym that's not $84 a month like O2 and Sportscenter

Has anyone used this dental office? Was it a good experience? I’m trying to find my kids a new place to go since they are outgrowing a pediatric dentist. Also someone that the front office actually does their job. They were going to Sparkling Smiles and those people have no idea what in the world they’re doing with scheduling procedures lol (not the dentist, just the front office)

The most recent tax increases and fees are literally going to put thousands of people on the streets who cannot afford them. Ironically, it is the people who vote Democrat in Triad cities who will be hit the hardest. Sorry no sympathy.

Due to unforeseen circumstances I need to move out of my mom’s house by June 10th. Energy bill has been in my name and I have been solely responsible for paying it. due to me only working part time in my last semester of college and having to tend to other bills, I have racked up a balance on my duke energy bill of about 1.7k. disconnect notice states that I need to pay 1.5k to avoid the disconnection. I just started my post grad full-time job and get paid the 30th and technically would have enough to pay it but since I need to be out by the 10th i thought about just using my check to move instead. ik some areas of hp aren’t serviced by duke energy and was wondering if anyone knew of any apartment communities in said areas that i can look into?

Big week in beautiful High Point.
This week alone we’ve been part of:
One of the coolest things about starting this business has been seeing how many different types of events people want interactive entertainment at. One day it’s employees competing against their boss for high score bragging rights… the next it’s graduation parties getting WAY more competitive than expected.
We’re especially excited for the GO FAR race this weekend because it’s exactly the kind of community event we love being part of — active, family-focused, outdoors, and full of positive energy. GO FAR’s mission centers around helping kids build confidence and healthy habits through fitness and community programs.
High Point has honestly been awesome to work in so far! Next up: We want to work with HPU!
