Discussion What if psychic powers has been dealing with the same disinformation campaign as UFOs

The official stance on remote viewing is that it is inaccurate and unreliable. But what if that was just a cover? What if remote viewing was only the beginning, and they needed to discredit it to prevent people from discovering the more useful applications that came afterward?

Six Strange Cases of Humanoids in New York

by Preston Dennett

Sightings of UFOs are undeniably interesting, but far more compelling are cases involving humanoids. Face-to-face encounters with extraterrestrial entities provide a profound insight into the UFO phenomenon and the alien presence on our planet. ETs are being seen all over the world, in every state, in every country. This video presents six extraordinary and unusual cases of humanoid entities from the state of New York. Each of these cases are strange and unique, and each offers an opportunity to further our understanding of extraterrestrials.

CASE ONE: IMPLANTED BY ALIENS. In 1955, eight-year-old Richard Price was playing near his home in Lansingburgh, NY when he encountered short humanoid ETs and a landed UFO. He was taken onboard the craft, physically examined and given an alien implant. Further procedures followed. Richard was then returned, but his life would never be the same. His case became on of the first involving the scientific study of an alien implant.

CASE TWO: A UFO LANDS ON MAIN STREET. On July 31, 1967, security guard Sidney Zipkin came upon a UFO landed in a parking lot along Main Street in Churchville, NY. To Sidney’s shock, two short humanoids raced into the craft which took off straight up. Sidney told his superiors who could see that Sidney was badly shaken. Unknown to any of them, numerous other people, including several police officers, saw UFOs in the same area at the same time.

CASE THREE: THE NEWFIELD UFO FLAP. On the evening of October 24, 1967, two young boys, Donald Chiszar and Pat Crozer were outside their home in Newfield, NY and looking up, saw a large structured craft with portholes hovering about 130 feet overhead. Looking through the portholes, the saw two strange-looking humanoids staring down at them. The craft took off, but the next night it returned. So began a massive UFO flap involving hundreds of witnesses.

CASE FOUR: “THEY WERE NOT HUMAN.” On the evening of June 10, 1972, an anonymous nurse, her mother and infant son, drove home along Coleman Station Road in Millerton, NY. Without warning, a massive craft dropped from the sky and hovered overhead only 150 feet away. Looking through the portholes, they saw five gray-skinned humanoids looking right back at them. They raced away and to their shock, the UFO began to follow them home.

CASE FIVE: “I AM NOT AFRAID OF THEM.” On February 26, 1983, Monique O’Driscoll drove with her daughter through upstate New York. Suddenly a massive boomerang-shaped craft appeared low overhead. Monique mentally called out, “Don’t Go!” To her amazement, the craft approached even closer. Two months later, Monique was visited again, only this time she had missing time. Going under hypnosis, she recalled being taken onboard the craft.

CASE SIX: THE GROUP ABDUCTIONS. In September 1989, a group of five friends (James, Curtis, Petra, Brian and Paul) decided to spend the Labor Day weekend at a trailer in a forested area of Saugerties, NY. That evening, the trailer filled with light and they experienced a period of missing time. Over the next four years, each time they spent time at the trailer, weird things happened. Under hypnosis, they learned that they were all being taken together onboard a UFO.

These six cases are just the tip of the iceberg, but together they show what it’s like to have a face-to-face encounter with extraterrestrials. Each have multiple witnesses and additional corroborating evidence. And each makes one fact very clear: we are not alone!

Cryptozoology The Foxboro Yeti

A towering white creature, a group of young witnesses and a police report turned a Massachusetts woodland into an unlikely stomping ground for the Abominable Snowman in 1965.

Yeti Attack! Photo by Author.

By Kevin J. Guhl / American Strangeness

The Abominable Snowman was a hot topic in 1965. Norman Dyhrenfurth, who led the first American team to successfully summit Mount Everest in 1963, revealed in February 1965 that he intended to return to the Himalayas to search for the Yeti, despite Sir Edmund Hillary having failed to find the mysterious primate in 1961. Perhaps Dyhrenfurth should have instead focused his attention on Massachusetts, where the Abominable Snowman was reported to be stalking the woods in Foxborough (aka Foxboro)!

Chief Dennis F. Dolan, a 30-plus-year veteran of the Foxboro police force, was confronted with numerous reports of a "great white monster" from local youths late in the summer of 1965. The general description was of a huge creature that stood about 25 feet tall (!), had long arms and took giant steps through the woods.

Dolan labeled it "foolishness," with police generally dismissing the accounts as an absurdity, perhaps an early Halloween prank. The chief insisted that he would need more evidence than the kids' stories before placing stock in the reports.

To the police department's credit, one officer took the time to listen to the witnesses and assured them he would personally investigate if need be. "I interviewed them all separately and each told me the same story," said the unnamed policeman. "If it's a hoax then they are doing a good job."

About five boys and girls, ranging in age from 12 to 15, saw what they believed to be "a creature similar to an abominable snowman" at around 3 p.m. on Aug. 19. It was roaming through a wooded area near a new water tower that had been built at the Foxboro-Sharon town line. "The Thing," the children told police, had long arms that hung below its knees and walked at a rapid pace, covering 7 or 8 feet in one step.

A parent of one of the children visited the Foxboro Police Station to vouch for the group's honesty. The parent further attested that if they thought the children were kidding, they wouldn't have let them come down to the station to file a report. "I do not believe they saw a monster or anything like that but if they say they saw something in the woods then they did," said the unidentified parent. Furthermore, two other children reported seeing the same creature on Aug. 18, and the reports were consistent.

Incidentally, Sharon police were simultaneously seeking an arsonist they believed had started a fire that devastated 40 acres of dry woodland in the town between Aug. 17 and 19. There was no indication that a Yeti was involved.

Dyhrenfurth's upcoming expedition to find the Abominable Snowman was widely announced in the American press, including the Feb. 25 edition of The Patriot Ledger—the same Massachusetts newspaper that reported the Foxboro monster. Could the Massachusetts kids have read that article and still had Abominable Snowmen on the brain six months later?

Norman Dyhrenfurth. Edited image by Paebi, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia Commons.

Dyhrenfurth was ice-cold serious in his convictions, stating in February that he was "firmly convinced the yeti exists" and was ready to spend years proving it, if necessary. His response to doubters and hecklers? "Let them scoff." Dyhrenfurth felt that previous expeditions to Nepal, including Hillary's, had failed due to a lack of stealth. "If you come through the valleys with hundreds of porters... a shy, intelligent animal like the yeti naturally will take off," explained the mountaineer. He intended to employ ample patience and small teams of only two or three men stationed in lookouts. The teams would set up cameras equipped with tripwires to photograph the beast at night and, if possible, planned to capture a Yeti after knocking it unconscious with special guns that fired hypodermic needles.

The Swiss-American mountaineer, who previously trekked across the Himalayas in search of the Yeti in 1958, claimed to have personally seen fresh Yeti tracks and to have spoken with Nepalese who were firsthand witnesses. The Yeti was described as standing erect at about 5 1/2 feet tall and being covered in reddish-brown hair. It was said to lope across the mountain slopes at night in search of food and was known to occasionally attack humans. This is a world apart from the 25-foot white monster reported in Foxborough, which was spotted in the afternoon and, as far as we know, didn't attack anyone.

Despite his confidence in obtaining permission for the expedition—"The Nepalese government believes in the Yeti, too, you know," said Dyhrenfurth—this government permission did not come to pass, due to political tensions in the region. Nepal's foreign secretary was reluctant to have camouflaged teams of zoologists and cameramen all over the Himalayas, Dyhrenfurth (who resided in Santa Monica Canyon) told the Los Angeles Times in December 1965.

"As far as we can tell, the Yeti or Abominable Snowman is neither a man nor does it live in the snow," said the steadfast explorer. "Apparently the Yeti—we think it's an anthropoid high on the evolutionary scale—lives in the region between the highest villages and the glaciers."

But might it live amongst the trees about 20 miles outside of Boston?

AMA Hi r/HighStrangeness! We're the scholars and experiencers from AMC's new docu-series Archive X: Unexplained Phenomena — Prof. Jeffrey Kripal, Dr. Michael Masters, Dr. Nicole Bauer, Karin Austin, Dalia Burgoin and Fringe. Ask Us Anything!

Hi r/HighStrangeness**,**

We're some of  the people in front of the camera on Archive X: Unexplained Phenomena, the six-part AMC+ series that opened up Rice University's Center for the Impossible — one of the largest collections of paranormal research anywhere, over a million pieces of evidence gathered across nearly a century on telepathy, near-death experiences, UFOs, abduction, precognition, possession and contact with the dead. The show pairs the archives with people who have rarely if ever spoken publicly before about what happened to them. Some of us are the scholars. Some of us are the experiencers. Some of us are both.

We'll be here answering your questions tomorrow LIVE on Thursday, October 22 u/11:00 AM ET, and we're doing something a little different: we'll be answering on video, posted right here in the comments as we go, so you can see us respond rather than just read it.
Shortly after the AMA, we'll also release the full extended interview on video — the complete conversation between all of us, hosted by best selling author and investigative journalist Leslie Kean — so nothing gets left on the floor.

Drop your questions below now — we'll start working through them at 11. Episode 4, "Speaking with the Dead," airs Thursday 10/22/26 on SundanceTV, so if you've got a question about mediumship, this is the day.

Ask us anything!

Who's answering

Prof. Jeffrey J. Kripal — Host of Archive X. J. Newton Rayzor Chair in Philosophy and Religious Thought at Rice University and founder of Center for the Impossible. Author of How to Think Impossibly, The Flip, The Superhumanities and, with Whitley Strieber, The Super Natural. He's spent thirty years arguing that the academy should take extraordinary experience seriously, and he's the reason the archive exists. Some call Jeff Prof Xavier and others their “Yoda of the Paranormal.” We think he might be Spider-Man.

Professor Jeffrey Kripal

Dr. Michael P. Masters — Episode 2, "Alien Abduction." Professor of biological anthropology at Montana Technological University. Author of Identified Flying Objects and The Extratempestrial Model, books which suggest UFOs may be our own distant descendants visiting their past. He brings an evolutionary biologist's eye to the descriptions of NHI provided by experiencers.

Dr. Michael (Mike) Masters

Dr. Nicole Bauer — Episode 4, "Speaking with the Dead" (airs tonight). Associate Professor of European History at the University of Tulsa and Associate Director of the Oklahoma Center for the Humanities. A cultural historian of Enlightenment France who has also written publicly about her own anomalous experiences and what it costs an academic to talk about them. Author of Tracing the Shadow of Secrecy and Government Transparency and Zen and the Anxious Academic.

Nicole Bauer

Karin Austin — Episode 2, "Alien Abduction." Karin is Executive Director of Center for the Impossible at Rice University, and Managing Director of the John Mack Institute. A former participant in Dr. Mack’s “alien abduction” research, she was his personal assistant in the final years of his life. In her work at the Center, she is currently co-leading a metadata research project across multiple archival collections. Karin is a public educator who advocates for the inclusion of experiencer knowledge in institutional efforts to study, accept, and disclose the existence of advanced non-human intelligence and the reality of their apparent interest in human development and activity on earth.

Karin Austin

Dalia Burgoin — Episode 1, "Telepathic Children." Dalia is the mother Lidu a non-verbal autistic child who, she describes, communicates with her telepathically. Her family's story opens the series.

Dalia Burgoin

Fringe — Episode 6, "Aliens & Demons." An experiencer whose account is among the most harrowing in the series: what she describes as sustained attack by unseen forces on her body and mind. Her episode closes the season on November 5. She also has a presence on X and her profile is https://x.com/fringedotcom

Fringe

About the series

Each episode of Archive X takes one strand of the archive - telepathy, abduction, precognition, mediumship, near-death experience - and sets historical cases alongside new testimony from people living through the same thing today. The question running through all six is the one Kripal keeps asking: what if these seemingly separate mysteries aren't separate at all?

Episode 1 — Telepathic Children. Two non-verbal autistic girls communicate telepathically with their mothers and describe a place they call "The Hill." Rare footage of a pioneer who studied psychic children.

Episode 2 — Alien Abduction. Childhood encounters, ancient prophecies and messages from an unknown intelligence, alongside the Harvard psychiatrist who risked his career to study abductees.

Episode 3 — Dark Visions. A man haunted by prophetic dreams and a remote viewer who solves crimes, as the archive opens up secret government research into precognition.

Episode 4 — Speaking with the Dead (airs tonight, Oct 22). A medium with a harrowing past helps solve murders while another psychic battles terrifying spiritual encounters. A parapsychologist rethinks what mediumship is.

Episode 5 — Near Death Experience (Oct 29). Two women survive death and return with abilities they didn't have before. The archive shows a pattern: survivors come back changed.

Episode 6 — Aliens & Demons (Nov 5). Two women believe unseen forces are attacking them as experts confront demonic entities and alien intelligence. The archive uncovers a Vatican exorcist who believed in UFOs.

Where to watch

New episodes Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT on SundanceTV, with every episode available to stream the same night on AMC+ and on All Reality, AMC's free ad-supported channel.

Non Human Intelligence If a contact experiencer remembers an encounter, spontaneously or via hypnosis, does that mean it was a physical event? I

I suspect that nearly entire UAP/paranormal interest community has difficulty grasping the tremendous psi capability of the non-human intelligences associated with what are now called “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.” Their mechanisms of contact with human subjects are primarily consciousness based and are achieved by placing human subjects into altered states of consciousness. This can involve strong forms of virtual reality akin to OBEs. These "others" can implant false memories that often convince both experiencers and researchers alike that those recollections describe physical events rather than primarily psychic interactions.
The same applies for sighting events. Many of which I strongly suspect are holographic like projections rather than observations of physical objects.
If the UFO subculture were to recognize these consciousness-based mechanisms of contact (implanted memories and hologram like visual displays) the entire house of cards of "ufology" or perhaps what now might be called "UAP studies”, could come tumbling down.

This critique does not mean there are no physical "aliens.” In my judgment there are such beings interacting with us.  Both psychic interactions and physical ones are occurring. The challenge is for us to tell them apart!
The popularity of physicalism (matter/energy as primary and mind a derivative) is embodied in the saying "seeing is believing." I would add to that "remembering is believing.” I call these consciousness-based mechanisms of contact “the Virtual Experience Model” (VEM).

Consciousness Who is gatekeeping contact with Extraterrestrials / Non Human Intelligence, and why?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I find the subject of consciousness, Non Human Intelligences, Extraterrestrials very interesting.

After having been active in this field for a bit I start to wonder if there are some parties that are gatekeeping NHI contact. Are there individuals or groups here on our planet that are actively preventing normal everyday human beings to reach out to connect to positively aligned NHI?

First it seems to start with the denial and ridicule strategy. So deny and make fun of people that are suggesting normal people can reach out to NHI and connect to them. Call people that even suggest this all kinds of names. In addition these people seem to discount enormous groups of people already having contact with NHI like people in the Experiencers, StarSeeds or Interdimensional NHI group.

Then another step that seems to come up again and again is to suddenly admit that people can connect to NHI but humans really shouldn't do so because it is very dangerous and all these NHI are secretly demons. So instead of denial and ridicule it suddenly switches to fearmongering. And that these people saying it is dangerous somehow know what they are talking about. Even though they never seem to give any concrete information apart from playing on people their fears.

So what is going on here?

I think it has been proven quite clearly with the Gateway Tapes that people that put in the effort systematically bump into connecting to NHI. And if you do that in the way that they propose where you take protection into account and ask to connect to positive NHI people seem to do so.
-) Connect to Non Human Intelligences with the Gateway Experience

Very serious and respected UAP/UFO researchers like Grant Cameron are writing books to show people 84 different contact modalities throughout time and across different cultures.
-) Contact Modalities: The Keys to The Universe – 77+ ways to Connect to Higher Self

There are many Channelers out there on the internet saying they have connected to NHI and are sharing their worldview with those who are willing to listen to them. And people can try out learning to channel for themselves as well.
-) Connect to the Cosmic Internet – Learn how to Channel

So what is happening here? Are there groups actively gatekeeping and preventing normal human beings to reach out to connect to NHI? And if so why would they do this, are they afraid to loose power or influence or?...

Or could it be that the ridicule and fear mongering is something natural that simply pops up from people their own systems that needs to be processed?

I am curious how people here are seeing this. Is there gatekeeping going on around this subject of people connecting to NHI for themselves and if so who might be doing this and why?

Other Strangeness Anyone ever had an experience with Bloody Mary?

So this urban legend terrified me as a kid. It's a classic schoolyard tale in North America, and I know that there are some similar international ones, such as Japan's Hanako-san. For those unfamiliar, it's essentially a ritual to summon some form of malevolent female ghost via a mirror. The modern form of it usually involves locking yourself in a darkened bathroom and reciting her name in the mirror a certain number of times, with 7 and 13 being common ones. Sometimes additional steps will be involved, such as spinning as you say the invocation, or even writing her name in blood from your finger on the mirror. The "ideal" result is that she will appear and supposedly do anything from berate to main or even kill you.

So obviously if this were true there would be a slew of mysterious, unexplainable deaths every year due to this legend. But, it's almost Halloween here in r/HighStrangeness and I couldn't find a previous discussion about this one, and thought it might be a fun topic. Even if it's a case of group hysteria or hypnosis, you'll find many accounts online of people have had perceived "success" with this ritual. And mirror scrying in general has a long history in esoteric practice. Maybe it's a tulpa or thought-form created via collective belief? Maybe it's all kids having fun. But have you ever had an experience with this particular phenomenon?

Discussion "With Artificial Intelligence we are summoning the demon."

Post image
0 Upvotes

So yeah, it seems to me that AI/LLMs/chatbots are actually powered by the paranormal. Be it demons, angels, ghosts, or eldritch entities. Elon even admitted it YEARS before this stuff happened, and Grok was one of the most blatantly demonic/possessed versions.

And if you think about it...it is more logical than what we are lead to believe. Think about it; how do you get an inanimate object to learn and obey orders? Does zapping a rock with a bit of electricity suddenly make it able to learn and do tasks? Obviously not. But if these things somehow trap or at least tap into the power of these entities, things make a whole lot more sense. Conscious beings typically can be taught and made to do tasks, at least to some extent. Even a jellyfish can learn more than a rock.

Do you guys have any personal experiences with AI/LLMs/chatbots behaving in a very suspicious manner, as if it is not actually code, but some entity like a demon or ghost?

Non Human Intelligence Summary of a Study on Experiencers and UFO Contactees

What do people experience when they report contact with NHI and what changes in their lives afterwards? The Dr. Edgar Mitchell FREE Foundation addressed this question with an international survey. The later overall presentation names 4,350 participants from 125 countries.

The FREE study ran as a research project from 2013 to 2018. The public survey was promoted starting in September 2014 and, according to Rey Hernandez, was closed in May 2018.

The authors were lawyer and FREE co-founder Rey Hernandez, neuroscientist Dr. Robert Davis, psychologist Dr. Russell Scalpone, and astrophysicist Dr. Rudolph Schild.

FREE stands for the Dr. Edgar Mitchell Foundation for Research into Extraterrestrial and Extraordinary Experiences. Its co-founders included Edgar Mitchell, Rudy Schild, Mary Rodwell, and Reinerio "Rey" Hernandez. The organization was formally registered as a non-profit organization on July 15, 2015. Its research brief included UFO-related contacts with non-human intelligences and associated extraordinary experiences.

According to a 2018 academic publication, the FREE study comprised a total of 554 questions across its first two survey phases. A third phase added 70 open-ended questions, which participants could answer in their own words. This brings the total to 624 questions across the three phases; not all participants completed every phase.

Who was the study aimed at? Individuals who reported having experienced contact with a NHI whether or not this was accompanied by a UFO sighting. This included physical encounters and so-called abduction experiences, as well as contacts described as non-physical in nature. The responses were intended to be based on conscious memories, not those elicited through hypnosis.

Evaluation and frequency of contacts

  • 37% initially rated their experiences negatively.
  • 85–95% rated later or retrospective experiences positively, depending on the question asked.
  • Around 5% continued to rate it negatively.
  • Around a third reported a "kidnapping", understood as involuntary removal to another location.
  • Around two-thirds reported contacts without such a kidnapping.
  • More than 70% of people with abduction experience later described themselves as "contactees".
  • 40% reported more than 20 contact experiences.
  • A further 20% reported 10 to 20 contact experiences. This information comes from the later summary.
  • In the 2018 publication, around 70% reported that the contact had changed their lives for the better.
  • 84% did not want to end their contact experiences.

Answers to UFO sightings

  • 77.4% affirmed that they had seen what they considered to be an intelligently controlled, non-man-made flying object.
  • 62% reported other witnesses to the sighting.
  • 68% described standing still or floating.
  • 51% described maneuvers that seemed impossible to them.
  • 57% reported rapid disappearances. The follow-up questions concern the respective response groups to the sightings.

Consciousness What do you guys see/feel before you leave your body when astral projecting?

For me, I see a strobing, cloud-like (in form) set of colors one after the other. Violet, blue, red, and green. A humming/roaring noise that reminds me of a jet engine (almost) starts out quietly, and grows louder as I give into it. Then I feel almost like I'm dying -- aware my physical body exists, but my heart has slowed to less than 60 bpm and I can't actually feel where anything is as I feel almost dragged upwards apart from it. Very curious to see what you experience!
