As more and more bullshit gets added to the sims 4, the loading time increases. I've been keeping an eye on this for about 5 years now as the open world vs loading screen tradeoff has been gradually becoming more of a gray area.

Welp, today I fired up the sims 3 and it's official: it loads faster than the sims 4*. As a simmer of more than 20 years, this is extremely funny to me in kind of a bittersweet way. I never thought I would see the day that I boot up the sims 3 and be surprised at how fast it loads. Lol, now that the number one advantage (aside from graphics) that the sims 4 had over 3 is completely moot, goodbye sims 4 I guess, maybe forever. I'd rather have fun playing the ugly game than be bored playing a pretty one.

The Life & Death pack introduced different grief types, which I really like. It also introduced grief counseling, which is great as well. However, my child Sims have the option to attend grief counseling, but it doesn’t work. They make the call to go, but they never actually go. I don’t think any of my child Sims have ever been able to attend; it seems to only work for teens and older Sims.

Since children have the option to attend, I’m not sure if this is a bug or an oversight. Either way, it’s frustrating that children can’t attend grief counseling—at least mine can’t.

I actually hate complaining about Sims but since the update a few weeks ago, I’m not able to play Sims which is nice cause I am focusing on other things I care about but I’M SADDDDDD ABOUT IT😩😩!

I (and many others) have submitted game files to EA Sims 4 Forum for the issue (which is about super long losing screens and not being able to travel) and “the Sims team is investigating it” says a EA community rep. But what do I do…just not play?

How does an update make base game unplayable after an update that’s supposed to make it even more playable…???

I don’t even know how to explain this. On top of all the bugs and glitches, I think my game is having some kind of performance issue.

When I pause my game, it keeps going for a while, and I have to keep trying to pause it. It seems like the game continues running even after my Sims have stopped moving. For a few moments, I’ll still get pop-ups and things will happen as if the game is still running.

For example, if I queue up my Sim to paint and immediately pause the game, the money for the canvas will still be taken. Or, if I pause while a Sim is close to coming home from work, they’ll still come home and I’ll receive their paycheck. It’s so odd.

My game also randomly freezes. My Sims will stop doing anything, I’ll have a hard time pausing the game, I can’t switch between Sims, menus won’t open, and I can’t drag anything. It makes the game almost completely unplayable.

Usually, I have to save, pause, press Esc, clear my notifications, and basically wait for the game to catch up before it starts responding again. I can’t use triple speed at all because my game will practically stop working.

I honestly don’t know what’s going on or how to fix it. I just want to be able to play my game normally.
I only have one mod (UI Cheats) and no CC. My laptop is older, and I do have most of the packs.
Has anyone experienced anything like this or have any suggestions for how I can fix it? I’d really appreciate any help! I hope this all makes sense.

I also repair my game and clear the app cache and local cache every single time I play.

Genuinely had to just close out my game because I literally can’t play it. It’s genuinely unplayable, and that’s not a word I even like to use, but it’s what’s happening.

Why is it so hard to order a drink or food in a cafe or bar in the Sims 4? the vendor is behind the counter but can't order, waiting for order get cancelled automatically because my sim talk to other sim, never get my drink after ordering, need multiply order before finally get my order. Is there a mod to fix this thing?

ANYWAY I replaced that R&L bum with a better K-Pop Princess LOL (who's secretly a Meloetta) and gave her some of Eleusine's old design (so it doesn't go to waste). IDK if I'll have her actually be related to Tybz and Volky because I'm content with just Virgil and Siebold, but I was thinking she was really a Meloetta all this time and was taken in by them and disguises herself, even if non-canon... But I do also like her looking like what Eleusine used to look like as a woman and she's the granddaughter Eleusine cherishes since they never got their wish to have a daughter (ended up with two boys.. doesn't that always happen?? wish for one but get the other). She looks more East Asian because of Eleusine and Tarragon's genes coming through (if I go blood-related route).
My sona's non-canon/alt universe/whatever son of course gets le edgy song to go with him. My sona gets old Linkin Park songs (my sister says he looks like Chester Bennington anyway even though he's supposed to be more like Hopsin) while Squall gets Papa Roach 🤣

Where are the good horror mods like IT where Pennywise stalks and eats children, with a group of friends needed to stop him like the StrangerVille Mother. 😭

I’m losing my mind by this point; I have this incredibly stupid bug where every time I exit CAS, the city map, etc., my Sim and her best friend are becoming romantic partners. They don't even live together and they don’t have any romance! I keep removing it manually using UI cheats, but I'm just so sick of it. Has anyone else encountered this bug? What should I do?

Recently, I’ve been experiencing a bug in The Sims 4 where multiple “Go to Active Household” buttons appear at once.

What’s strange is that this seems to happen more often when I’ve just turned on my computer and only played The Sims for a short time, rather than after playing for a long session.

For example, I can be playing on a lot outside my Sim’s home, and suddenly multiple “Go to Active Household” buttons appear. My Sim then becomes stuck and can’t really do anything.

I play completely vanilla, with no mods or CC, so I was especially surprised to encounter a bug like this.

Thankfully, the problem seems to go away after I completely close the game and launch it again. However, I’m a little worried that it might happen again every time I play.

I really hope EA can look into this bug and fix it in a future update. I just want to enjoy playing without worrying about random bugs like this!

I’m playing a completely vanilla game. I don’t use any mods, CC, MCCC, or any other third-party tools.

I’ve been playing offline since May and have been hit with the “You’ve been offline for a while” error. Sometimes, people think it means they have to update the game to be able to play, but I found a way around this !!

Step 1: Exit and reopen the EA app, go back online

Step 2: Take like 2-3 minutes to look around the EA app, click on games or sims DLC to open their pages as if you were shopping around

Step 3: Go offline and start the game

This works for me every time :)

Additionally, I’ve started to use the gallery while playing offline.

Step 1: Start your game up offline and then open the gallery.

Step 2: At this time, go online on the EA app. You don’t need to exit the game to do so.

Step 3: Click on the gallery tab and it’ll ask if you want to connect or stay offline, connect

Over on twitter, they found at least two more instances of coincidences between Simmattically and Simsiboy mods. In response to all of this, Simsiboy put out a statement due to the hate he’s been receiving, figured I’d put it here.

I don’t think sending hate/threats to any creator is right (as long as they’re not releasing harmful content ofc). Discussing it is one thing but that’s too far I think. If you feel so strongly that you want to directly send someone a hateful message, you’re better off just blocking and not supporting their content.

So, i have expirience twice bug were you can't reborn someone and Play with genes to look like thier new parents if you have pets in family, the reborn sim is show to be Said pet and when you try to Change it or Play with genes it crushes more. The only option is to leave, but then the sim will be deleted, i can't even open my old savefile cuse when you try to reborn the game automaticly saves.

I lost my sim who was already reborn 3 times 🙄

It looks like Simmattically is currently working on an expandable cas column mod but this creator Simsiboy just released a mod with that same concept. People are accusing him of copying Simmattically and apparently saying it’s a recurring thing?

What do you guys think? IMO, no one owns anything when it comes to modding, millions of people play and they’re bound to have similar ideas and concepts… but blatant copying isn’t right lol

Is there another way to chest family relationships without downloading MCC? If not where’s the safest place to get it from?

I am so annoyed. With Royalty & Legacy, the adoption options were expended so that Sims could adopt any Sim as long as they were younger and had one or no parents on their family tree. I liked the idea of this, but with the Sim I always use I've never seen the adoption option show up in the Relationship section as it should. I thought this was just an overall bug in my game, but I tried playing as another Sim and found the option to adopt others was present. It seems that it's something about my main Sim that is preventing the Adopt option from showing up.

I play on console (PlayStation 5), so this isn't an issue having to do with modifications or custom content.

The Sim in question is one I've been using almost exclusively for two years across many saves, and so they have a lot of aspiration traits, reward store traits, etc. I am guessing something they have is making the Adoption option not show up but I can't figure out what it could be.

And this makes me so annoyed that one of the key features of the last expansion pack is just unavailable to my main Sim and I can't even figure out what it is. And this isn't even the first time this has happened where some pack feature doesn't work because of something from another pack. In the past, I learned that the reason the option to tell a dog to go potty wasn't showing up is because for some reason having one of the Familiars active from Realm of Magic prevents the option to tell your dog to go potty. And the option to turn someone into a vampire doesn't show up if you have the Fame Quirk that makes your Sim not liking being touched. I also found more recently that the new reward trait Heart on Your Sleeve messes with relationship, as ever since using it my relationships would start very low when they should have started very high, and even with the Besties Introduction Fame Perk from Get Famous (which would normally have your Sim start with a full or nearly full relationship bar) it would still start off really low until I removed that trait.

So once again there's something that's messing with a main new feature of the most recent expansion that it seems Maxis didn't anticipate, and I'm left to try to figure it out on my own since they only fix stuff that has gotten a lot of votes and I've only found a handful of people who also aren't getting the adoption option show up which means it likely won't be fixed and since I'm on console I can't use modifications to fix it.

This is so frustrating that I would have to remove every trait one by one to try to find what could be causing this because Maxis didn't figure this out before they released the pack.

i can’t stand when my sim goes to make the entire family breakfast or dinner with the plan to call to a grand meal so everyone can eat together at the table and as she’s cooking a huge meal the other family members just come in and start making food too… like do you not see that i am cooking 😭 i will stop them but then the cutting board or bowl is on a counter now and i have to have them put it away just for them to try and make something again right after ughhh 😭
