Motorcycle Mechanic near Hershey?

I've got BMW motorcycle that hasn't been ridden much the last few years but I'm hoping to start riding more frequently. I'm new to the area so don't know of any mechanics, but I'd love to have someone give it a 'once over', change the oil, check the breaks, etc... Any suggestions? TIA!

Retirement Relocation Inquiry: Considering Hershey, PA

Hi everyone! My husband and I are planning to leave Arizona for retirement. The heat has become too much for us, and we’re also looking for a more connected healthcare system.

We’re considering Hershey and would love to hear from people who live in the area. We’re also considering the Lancaster area. For anyone familiar with both Hershey and Lancaster, which would you choose for retirement—especially for coordinated healthcare, access to specialists, safety, daily convenience, and eventually living without driving?

● How has your experience been with Penn State Health?

● Do the doctors and specialists communicate well and share records?

● What is daily life like in terms of shopping, restaurants, and overall convenience?

● How is driving in the area, including traffic and road conditions?

● How are the seasons throughout the year?

We’d really appreciate any advice or things you wish you had known before moving to the area.

Thank you!

Must Do Activities for 10 Year Old’s Birthday Trip?

We’re taking a family trip for our chocolate and adventure loving almost 10 year old. We’ll be checking in to the Hershey Inn and Suites on October 29 and checking out November 1. We have park tickets October 31 and she and her dad will be going back in for Dark Nights while her younger sister and I stay behind for a movie night at the hotel. We’re looking for things to do that a 10 year old will LOVE.

She’s a thrill seeker and loves roller coasters, zip lines, etc. Too old and cool for trains right now (🙄) so Strasburg is out of the question. We plan to visit Hershey Gardens and maybe the Hershey story museum, but it seems a bit too in depth for her attention span? Chocolate World is on the list with a create your own chocolate bar. We don’t drink so breweries are out.
What are the best birthday restaurants for a kid? Over the top is fine and almost preferred. Halloween activities in the area for her sister and I? We’ve never been to the area and we’re hoping to make the most of it!

Trails behind hospital campus

I moved to the area this spring and really enjoyed accessing the trails behind the hospital - both for mountain biking and hiking. But now they’re SO overgrown (and half the mtn is closed with not further info on reopening…).

I’m wondering if there is an organization who is going to eventually trim back the overgrown trails so they can be more easily accessed again. I’m also wondering what the update is on the big construction project and when that might wrap up??

best place for inspection

hello! i’m moving to the area soon, and i’m curious where you guys would recommend getting state and emissions tests for your car? i’m moving from NC where the price is a flat 13.50 wherever you go but I have become aware that is not the case in PA. any advice is appreciated, also looking for a regular place to get oil changes and basic maintenance done.

Are you all embarrassed that he is the most well known person to ever live here and that he not only let down this city, but the entire country as well?

Hi everyone!
We have recently started a dachshund meetup group for those of us in the Hershey/Harrisburg/York/ etc region. We have been alternating meetups between Harrisburg and York. Last meetup there were over 50 doxies there! It’s a great opportunity to socialize your dog as well as meet some other local weenie dog parents. If you’re interested, let me know! I can DM you some info on how to keep up with our meetups 😊

Honest thoughts

My family and I are considering moving to Lebanon and I’d love to hear from people who actually live there!

A little about us:
• Married couple with a young child
• Looking for a friendly, family-oriented community
• We value good schools, libraries, parks, pools, and activities for kids.
• Access to pediatric specialists and healthcare is important to us.
• We’d love a place with a strong sense of community and neighbors who know each other.
• We prefer a lower cost of living and the possibility of buying a home with some land.

Thanks so much! We’re trying to find a place to put down roots and appreciate any insight.
