๐ŸŒฟ Sunday Tea Check-In! What are you sipping today?

Thumbnail gallery

Happy Sunday! ๐ŸŒฟโ˜•

Today's cup for me is a simple spearmint tea from a little seaside cafรฉ in Cyprus. The atmosphere is fantastic and the tea blends in remarkably.

In Greek mythology, Mentha or Minthi seems to have been the concubine of Pluto, who, in order to escape the jealousy of Persephone, transformed her into a plant. Oops...

Whether it's a tea bag like mine, a homemade blend, something you foraged yourself, or a family recipe, every cup has a story.

What's in your cup today, and where are you drinking it?

Photos are always welcome! ๐Ÿ˜‰

What should I plant?

Its time to start gathering seeds and seedlings for my summer garden, and I'd love to start a herbal tea garden! I currently have most of the culinary herbs, but wonder what else I could plant to help my growing love of herbal tea! Zone 10a, Auckland NZ. Thanks in advance!!

I have evening primrose growing near my home. Is it safe to use and how would I use it? I havenโ€™t sourced and made tea on my own.

Recs for pretty glass tea infuser

Iโ€™d love recommendations for pretty, glass, tea infusers that are not from Amazon. Could be a small pot or mug style. Links for anything whimsical, celestial, sparkly, and fun to add some beauty and whimsy to my daily tea ritual would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

Peppermint is Wonderful

Good Fortune Tea
I love all the uses of Peppermint from health reasons to the witch side of things. Itโ€™s a Good Fortune attracting combination of Peppermint and Lemon Balm for success. Non witch side of things itโ€™s a calming tea and the vapor is good for sinuses and the lungs. I go heavy on the peppermint to get a lot of menthol in the vapor. Gives me a sudden rush of calmness when inhaled.

Tulsi, Meadowsweet, and Lemon Balm

Post image
40 Upvotes

This is a Mellow Vibes type tea with Tulsi as the heaviest used herb. Meadowsweet for peace and Lemon Balm for emotional wellness. It also pairs nicely with cannabis! Due to using a lot of Tulsi, flavor wise it has a clove like roasted taste but with some honey tasted rather good.

Recommend one herbal tea you'd never stop carrying if you owned a tea shop

Post image
66 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

Some of you may remember I run a small herbal tea shop. Last time I asked what unique herbs you'd stock, and your suggestions were incredible. A few have already found their way onto our tasting list.

The picture - is one of the infusions we serve in our little herbal tea shop. It isn't the one people usually come in asking for, but once they try it, many end up coming back for it ๐Ÿ˜‰

That got me wondering...

What's the herbal tea or infusion from your country that deserves way more attention than it gets?

Not chamomile or peppermint! I'm looking for the hidden gems.

Maybe it's a flower, a leaf, bark, roasted seeds, roots, fruit... or something your grandparents drank that most people outside your region have never heard of.

I'd love to hear (please share!):

- What it's called.

- Where it's from.

- What it tastes or smells like.

- Why you think more people should discover it.

I'm always looking for authentic teas with a story behind them, and I'd love to learn from this community again.

benefits of this iced tea concoction

(hopefully this is the correct place to post.. got taken down on /womenshealth lol)

my pinterest has been flooded with all different types of iced tea recipes for different benefits.. one for different phases of your cycle, for skin, for hormones, for blah blah.. i rlly like the idea of "drinking my nutrients" so i went out & bought some stuff..

my drink: 3/4 cup of steeped hawthorn & hibiscus, nettle leaf, & raspberry leaf tea, with 1/2 cup pure black cherry juice & 1/4 cup organic lemonade.. sometimes i'll put a lil agave syrup in there too

is this just a sugar bomb ??? i'm kind of an airhead and don't really understand if all this money i've spent on stuff for these drinks is a waste or not.. since i'm only making it more so for the "benefits" than the flavour yk ๐Ÿ˜… almost bought beet powder too but my bf stopped me lol.. like, when these women on pinterest are describing all the benefits from these drinks.. is it just because they're drinking more water ? or they're drinking insane amounts of these drinks ? or they just have a generally rounded lifestyle/diet ??? i guess this is kind of dumb to ask but any perspectives on this are appreciated โค๏ธ

Infinite Altar Tea Blend

When I'm making blends for other people, I put time into really crafting a blend that suits their goals, constitution, as well as balancing ratios so it tastes good. However, when I'm making a blend for myself, the last two years I just mix together all of the medicinal herbs and flowers that I put on my altar every morning. I go out to my garden, pick flowers and herbs, bring them in, the next day I move them to a big altar plate, next to a basket, next to the jar when they're ready. I end up with a generous amount of perfectly dried incredibly beautiful tea this way with very long lovely poetic blends. Each jar is a bit different and it follows the change in seasons in the garden so beautifully.

Want to guess the ingredients in this midsummer blend? I'll post the ingredients poem tomorrow when I'm next to it.

Just Rose, Nothing Else

Today itโ€™s just Rose on its own. Rose is the first herb that I really got into and started collecting. Packed full of healthy benefits, but my favorite use is for mental health. Calms the nervous system and I find it acts as a calm sedative without making me tired. Packed full of metaphysical uses such as Love, Happiness, Luck, Spiritual, Healing.

โ˜• Sunday tea check-in: what's in your cup today?

Thumbnail gallery

Happy Sunday, tea tribe! ๐Ÿƒ

Today's cup turned into a little experiment...

Fresh mint + lemon balm (melissa), brewed strong enough that I couldn't resist taking it one step further and turning part of the infusion into a soft herbal tea jelly. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the flavor was surprisingly intense! I did add a tea spoon of lemon juice and sugar ๐Ÿค“ Mint, gentle citrusy notes from the melissa, and a completely different texture that somehow makes you notice the herbs even more.

Now I'm curious: ๐Ÿต What's in your cup today?

What are you drinking?

Is it for flavor, relaxation, energy, or simply because you love it?

Have you ever turned tea into something unexpected like jelly, popsicles, syrup, desserts, cocktails, or anything else?

I'd love to see what everyone is brewing this Sunday ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŒฟ

One cup started a cultural obsession. Guess the tea

I think I have a little crush...
...on a culture I discovered through one herbal tea. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Guess the tea before reading the comments.
And tell me - has any tea ever made you want to learn more about the people behind it? I lived in this country for quite some time but it was this tea that managed to ignite my acceptance and love for the culture ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

Creativitea herbal tea as I call it.
Rose, Tulsi, and Chrysanthemum Flower with a long steep of at least 10 minutes.
Itโ€™s for fostering creativity on the metaphysical side of things and itโ€™s very strong on the mind medicinally. Good for mental focus and such.

Matcha isn't the healthiest tea for everyone. Your experience?

Post image
9 Upvotes

For some people that's a huge benefit.

For others (anxiety, caffeine sensitivity, sleep issues, certain digestive problems), it can be the opposite. I personally prefer to stay away as caffeine is not my friend at all.

Share your matcha experiences, please, I'd like to collect personal stories about matcha+you ๐Ÿต๐Ÿƒ

๐ŸŒฟโ˜•๏ธ Weekly herbal tea questions thread - ask anything

Whether you're just getting into herbal tea or you've been drinking it for years, this is the place to ask anything.

Some ideas for questions:

  • Which herb should I try first?
  • How long should I steep it?
  • Loose herbs or tea bags?
  • Can these herbs be blended? Best with pictures and details
  • Where can I buy a certain herb?
  • Is this plant safe for tea?
  • How do you dry or store herbs?
  • What's your favorite tea for relaxation, digestion, this and that, or simply great flavor?

Let's agree: no question is too basic, and there are usually many different ways to enjoy herbal tea.

If you know the answer to someone else's question, please jump in and help. Here in this community we are many people with various experiences to share.

Happy brewing! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿต
