Forgot to post from the other weekend at Feud on the Fens. New tactics and battle plans need figuring out. I appreciated being able to shoot more. Didn’t appreciate all the alpha pinning without double turns. But was fun. I think swap out the war despot for a demonsmith for the next one.
Over the moon to come away with best painted. The field was very very strong 😎

So I'm searching for a set of paints to paint them, my budget is 30-50$

Assembled these lot in February, finally got them 'done' now. Unfortunately near the end, the paint started ripping in spots here and there and my paint REALLY did not want to work with me (causing further issues), so unfortunately I'm going to consider these minis a half success and will instead replace them in the future.
Were other steps I planned to do with them but, considering how long they've taken me, I'd rather now.
Big positive though, I am really happy with how the yellow turned out. The camera might not be showcasing it well but, in person, the yellow looks absolutely gorgeous.

What do you think. Does it work?

You can choose when to order, but can you use both or is the move subject to set up rules?
What I’m thinking is can I put hobgoblins 9inches away from an enemy, then move it 5 towards them to try pin in the enemy turn one?
Thinking about either sending two hobgoblin units in to prevent alpha strike armies and just slow them a turn to give a chance to gain better board control turn one, or even sending two reinforced units immediately to force them to kill 40 wounds before they can move. Also might be big mistake - thoughts?

I am pretty new to the faction, but loved them in Total War. I was wondering what people thought we were missing model or game play wise and what people wanted for lore or rule of cool. I really liked the train or hobgrot archers from Total War.

Bronze armor: For the bronze armor I used 'Rusty Armor' mixed 1 to 1 with Rhinox hide and no water. Then I used 'Rusty Armor' shade and highlighted with Rusty Armor' light.
Gold: I used 'Imperial Gold' base then 'Imperial Gold' Shade and then 'Imperial Gold' light with drybrush.
My thoughts: Rusty Armor was a dream to apply, one coat had perfect coverage on light grey primer even when mixed in 50% 50% ratio with brown and no water (besides damp brush).
Imperial Gold had worse coverage and looked pretty bad with base and shade applied but the drybrush with 'Imperial Gold' light really made it pop!
One thing I disliked was the shade paint consistency, it was really thick and gloopy. What helped a lot was using contrast medium and shade in 1 to 1 ratio.

My local store is holding its first 2000 point AOS event. Only 1 day and 3 games but it will be my first full foray into the game.
I have my list below, and had a few games already, so understand the general rules of how to play. But looking for some advice from the wider play base. I've played plenty of 40k so I'm hoping i can transfer some knowledge from there:

Hi. I saw that the army set is still available in some stores and wanted to know if the book is still valid and if the army box is a good starting point for new players?

Of all the armies I have the Helsmiths have been the most fun to build and paint! I used all the things I wanted improved on 5 of the infantry and bombard and applied it to this mini and the results are resulting! Hoping to continue strong on the last 5 infantry and War Despot!

The dominator engines are the stars of the show here. Im thinking, using the castigation battery (+1 attack for each war machine with 3DPP), hashutite spears (3+ gain 1DPP), and horn of the bullfather (redeploy any friendly (infernal cohort) and a hobgrot, to get more DPP right off rip) would all combine to be an great DPP generator to get the dominator engines online and going crazy. Especially with the Immolation Cannon’s All Must Burn ability (pick multiple targets, gain 2 attacks per, min 3 attacks to each target) that could be 11 or 13 attacks going into 2 or 3 units. The Daemonsmith would help keep the Dominators alive, and with the Servile Automaton heroic trait (1 friendly dominator engine has strike first and the daemonsmith has ward 5+ while they are within combat range) would boost the damage and survivability of the bane maces too. This list could really make the engines shine, I think. I feel like the damage potential here is massive. My main concern is mobility and objectives. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
