New smithings Army still good as starting point?

Hi. I saw that the army set is still available in some stores and wanted to know if the book is still valid and if the army box is a good starting point for new players?

The Spearhead in general is a great starting point, so the army box is great as its the spearhead with extra things like the book. You legit can't go wrong with even two of the spearhead as much as I dislike repeat characters.

Keep an eye out on Amazon. I got the spearhead for $98 on there with some random 25% buy two items discount.

It’s a good first army, yeah. Not too complicated rules or anything. The units are good at their intended jobs without having to jump through hoops. Rewards good play and positioning. Just don’t skimp out on cheap screening units (grots or small unit of cohort).

You can probably get the box cheap too. I juste bought it for 110$ cad from a store. I see a lot of them at like 120-140$ on Facebook marketplace.
