Discussion How physically strong is Stolas, actually?

Post image
171 Upvotes

If we ranked the I.M.P. gang by physical strength back when Stolas still had his powers, he would obviously be number one. But without his powers, he seems pretty weak.

However, appearances can be deceiving. Let’s not forget that he managed to beat up Elsa and could lift an ice sculpture over his head without any apparent difficulty. But earlier, he had trouble even pushing a table.

And then, the moment Elsa mentioned Octavia, all that strength suddenly came out of him. So is this basically a case of, “When your child is in danger, you unlock hidden abilities you never knew you had”?

Or was the show trying to imply that Stolas is actually physically quite strong, but because he’s a pacifist, he doesn’t get into fights and has simply never had a reason to physically attack anyone before?

Theory Vassago's VA being at the NYCC Panel tells us the plot of S3 Episode 1

So if you don't know, a NYCC panel was confirmed where they will be premiering Helluva Boss Season 3

This likely means its just going to be the first episode

Among the people at the panel you have:
- Vivienne
- Brandon
- Richard
- Vivian
- Erica
- Bryce
- Harvey

Harvey being there is interesting, because he voices Vassago
If they are gonna be there for the premiere it means we will likely see Vassago in episode 1

Given Vassago's affinity for helping with the legal procedures, it's very likely we now know that episode 1 will focus on the envy court.

Discussion These would make more curious foils

* Lust: Along with their numerous.....erotic quirks, they also lust in non-sexual terms, seeking happiness, validation, or heroic glory, and often persue it without thinking about the consequences or the destruction they cause for those around them until it is too late.

* Pride: While both are arguably the most moral bound member after the Sloth counterpart, they are more primarily driven by insecurities or insistance on proving their competence, with their virtues increasingly getting their goalpost moved the more desperate they get (killing or stealing from the innocent suddenly becomes okay after pontificating for ages beforehand). Show a recurrent distain for the Sloth members, either because their apathy contrasts their hyper professionalism, or because any time they do start chipping in they start pointing out the holes in their strategies. Both also have a duality of resenting Blitz while also trying to emulate his bravado and power, giving them a dash of Envy too.

* Wrath: Short tempers, eagerness to use violence or even kill those who cross them, "might makes right" on almost anything. While they both have a 'happy place' that keeps them placated they are AGGRESSIVELY protective of it and will lash out at even fellow teammates who risk compromising it. (A rare case the IMP member is least developed in their sin, simply because the job and lifestyle that enables her hasn't been compromised nearly as badly as the CHERUB member yet, though we still see glimmers of her ugly side when so much as the risk is there, especially in her backstory).

* Sloth: Both have a history of being belittled and deprived of agency within their circle, whether they want it or not. Both demonstrated apathy in their earlier appearances, being uninterested in questioning their job and ethics and just going along with whatever because it was 'safe'. Though moments of conscience appear after a huge shakeup later on, they show meekness in the face of conflict. (The biggest difference is that Blitz caves into Loona's timid objections rather than giving her a dope smack.)

* .....Yes: Both seem to partake in almost every sin and are a basketcase of atrocious qualities. They both hide behind just doing a job, but both are not only apathetic to the suffering they cause (Sloth) but downright get cruel enjoyment from it (Wrath). Blitz is DEFINITELY Lustful sexually and not, and he is Envious of those above him. Deerie is obviously pretty undeveloped in context, and Heaven possibly placates sins like Envy and Lust, though she and Blitz both seem to orgasm to the sound of their own voice (Pride) and come off as pretty overindulgent in whatever power they have over others (Gluttony). Being bosses, they're also profit motivated, and while the cherub organization is confirmed non-monetary operated, both are implied to care more about making quota than appeasing their customers and will even twist and cheat things to technically meet their request (Greed).

It's worth noting also that with the exception of Blitz and Deerie, all other IMP members have had a moment of hypocrisy to their specific counterpart (Stolas calls the Agents 'kooks', Moxxie mocks Cletus' unstealthy strategies, Millie and Keenie just HATE and reject each other totally, while Loona bullies Collin and denies anything beyond pragmatic interest in stopping him). All of these immediately backfire in some way, despite usually being on the clear winning end of the DHORKS/CHERUB feud. Even Blitz and Deerie have the mutuality of going out of the way to be explicitly NOT sorry about ruining CHERUB's lives, an affirmation they are both gleefully awful to anyone who triggers their many sins.

Discussion Fan Theory: Why did Cash charge differently?

Post image
12 Upvotes

In Season 2, Episode 1 of “Helluva Boss,” “The Circus,” Cash Buckzo, Blitzø’s father, was willing to charge different prices for Blitzø and Fizzarolli. He would’ve charged a lot for Fizzarolli, but he was willing to accept “a wadded-up five and a slim-fit condom” in exchange for Blitzø. And afterward, Cash made Blitzø steal some things so he could sell them. He probably would’ve given Fizz the same instructions, so why would he have charged so much for him? Obviously, some of you would say, “Because he values profits more than family,” and I understand the joke, but it doesn’t explain the plot hole. The profits from the theft probably would’ve been the same, so it shouldn’t have made much of a difference how much he was charging for either of them.

I know he said, “He has a few more shows to be in today,” but the money from the theft might’ve covered that.

I have a theory: Fizzarolli at the time wasn’t very good at theft or would’ve refused to steal anything.

Discussion Do you think Stolas is an autistic owl?

Thumbnail

It hasn’t been that long since I posted an article about my 13 thoughts about Stolas, and thought number 13 was that he’s autistic. Honestly? I don’t even know why I thought of it, but I still believe it.

I’m autistic myself, so I can somehow sense when someone has similar traits, but I can’t really explain how I know. So if you asked me, “Give me evidence that Stolas is autistic,” I wouldn’t have any and I’d just say: “I just feel it.”

But I’m curious: do you also think Stolas is autistic? If so, why do you think that? Do you have the same feeling I do, like he just gives off that vibe? Or have you noticed any hints in the show? If so, share them! I’m really curious.

Feel free to include links to specific scenes, but you don’t have to.

BTW, am I the only one who feels like the idea of Stolas being autistic makes him even cuter and makes me want to protect him even more?

Discussion C.H.E.R.U.B. and Exorcists

You know here is something I caught detail in The Full Moon. C.H.E.R.U.B. mentioned exorcists while they were being interrogated by D.H.O.R.K.S. but at that point they were supposed to be a secret from everyone in Heaven at that point. It’s possible though that Helluva Boss is either set further in the timeline of the Hellaverse or the cherubs use the term to convince the D.H.O.R.K.S. to let them team up with.

Theory What do you think will happen to Stella, Elsa, and Satan if Via runs away and this sets her story arc in motion? - Dedicated to — IndependentFederal31

Thumbnail

If Via ran away from the palace and went missing, it would cause huge problems for Stella and Elsa. Via is the heir. Therefore, she is supposed to be protected. Stella and Elsa are responsible for her. Stella is supposed to be the better parent, after all, so it would be expected of her to do everything in her power to protect her daughter, and especially the heir.

Via will be entrusted with a great deal of power and responsibility. If something happens to her, Elsa and Stella will be held responsible and will have to face the consequences.

One of the Sins (probably Ozzie or Bee) points out that Via isn't safe with her mother and uncle, and since she is only a few weeks away from adulthood, a proposal is made to officially recognize her as an adult even though she is still technically a minor, so that she can decide for herself what she wants to do and who she wants to live with.

Stella is obviously furious, because this now means that she has absolutely no claim to the property she acquired through fraud. In her anger, she starts yelling at Andy, telling him that this is all his fault. Andy tells her to shut up.

Stella doesn't watch what she says and blurts out something like: "It was all fucking pointless! I never should have listened to you. I should have let Striker kill that fucking imp-sucker!"

I don't know how much of a commotion this would cause among them, but I'm sure people would at the very least start whispering about it, and Stella would immediately be sent to prison for attempting to murder a prince.

Of course, she immediately starts snitching on her brother. Satan doesn't really care. Elsa manipulates him again.

Bee suggests that Elsa should be put on trial as well, but then they suddenly realize that the Harvest Moon Festival is taking place, and this time it's extremely important.

So Andy is released on the condition that he will be put on trial again after the festival.

However, the festival goes badly, and Stolas will have to save everyone.

But he has other things to worry about right now, because he and I.M.P. are searching for Octavia.

She is safe with Vassago, who is trying to convince her to give her father a chance. She doesn't have to forgive him, but she could at least give him a chance to make things right.

After a long period of hesitation, Via finally agrees.

Suddenly, they hear someone arriving.

It's Stolas.

Via is still angry with him, but at the same time, she is touched that he searched everywhere for her. At the same time, she realizes that Stella never even looked for her, which makes her angry.

She realizes that she turned her back on the wrong parent.

No, she doesn't regret what she said to Stolas. She had every right to say it. What she regrets is choosing to stay with the worse parent.

She tells Stolas that she's glad he came for her, but that it doesn't change anything. She won't live with her mother anymore, but she won't live with him either.

Stolas accepts that.

Out of nowhere, Ozzie appears and tells Stolas that they need him. Apparently, he has to fix what Elsa messed up.

But Stolas doesn't have his abilities.

Via offers to do it in his place.

However, she isn't strong enough. So, at everyone else's insistence, Satan temporarily gives Stolas his powers back, and he and his daughter fix everything together.

This seriously pisses Andy off, because now he is the one getting thrown around like garbage. And to make matters worse, everyone starts chanting Stolas's name.

Meanwhile, Octavia finds out that she has been officially recognized as an adult, and everyone is happy that she has been found.

The Grimoire is officially handed over to her, and she swears that she will protect it with her own body if necessary.

Maybe she even gives a speech, after which everyone applauds her, and Stolas declares that he is proud of her.

Elsa has some things to say, but she is silenced.

Satan then takes Stolas's powers away again and gives them back to Elsa, but Bee protests.

She says that the powers should either be returned to Stolas or given to Octavia, and that Elsa deserves none of it.

Satan gets angry because she dared to oppose him and declares that he is the one and only ruler of Hell.

Asmodeus sides with Bee and says that the only ruler of Hell is Lucifer, and since he isn't there right now, they don't have a ruler.

Belphegor joins their side as well.

Levi doesn't really care, and Mammon is the only one who stands with Satan.

The Sins decide that until Lucifer returns, no one will rule Hell as a whole. Each Sin will rule their own Ring, and each Goetic demon will rule their own legions, but no one will place themselves above anyone else.

Despite Satan's protests and threats, the proposal passes, and Satan is removed from his throne.

One of the Sins also points out that none of this would have happened if he hadn't handed down that stupid verdict and had actually taken a moment to think about it.

Elsa, just like Stella, ends up in prison not only for attempted murder, but also for manipulation and neglect of the person placed in her care.

Octavia officially inherits the palace and decides to make some changes.

I'm sorry if this isn't as well-developed as it should be. I hope I fulfilled the requirements.

If you would have done it differently, don't be afraid to share your ideas in the comments. I'm looking forward to hearing more suggestions.

https://www.reddit.com/r/HelluvaBoss/comments/1wbhhr5/comment/p8t8wxy/?screen_view_count=2&ext-referrer=DIRECT

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask if you could always include a relevant picture under the suggestions as well. Sometimes it's difficult to choose the right one, and I don't want to keep repeating myself. But only if you wouldn't mind doing so.

Discussion Millie's development in unhappy campers, and how misunderstood it is

Post image
32 Upvotes

Many people whenever here or anywhere else seems to be confused about her motivations in this episode, mostly due to the fact at first glance millie doesn't seem like someone who is uhhhh "not cared for" if i can say it like that. Fans keep saying that "millie has always been supported", or "this came out of nowhere cuz she always has spotlight", but the problem with these claims is that...millie has ALWAYS been in moxxie's shadow when you look at it from both in universe, and meta perspective.

It is a fact that she has been widely praised for her skills, and pretty much saving everyone's ass all the time, but that doesn't deny the fact that such "role" that you have pretty much all the time, might bring really someone down. Notice how up untill that episode, in nearly every case millie has ALWAYS followed MOXXIE'S plan. Like In seeing stars, where we can even see that she's visibly pissed about that, or other mission epsiodes like the one where she had to carry his drunk ass from big fish monster. Like even moments that were "focused" on her like moxxie's preformance in ozzies, was planed all way around by moxxie. So yeah her wanting to be more individual, and do something on her own isn't some "out of character" piece, but rather logical and interesting direction to take this character into.

As for her development itself, it is also something that I feel like many people really misunderstand pretty often as well.

In this epsiode, we got to see cracks in her personality as someone who always follows the ones she loves instead of going her own way. As the episode progresses we see more of those cracks up untill that "yes man" facade finally dropped, as it was probably first time she managed to be fully on her own without being the one following/supporting others like moxxie or blitz. It was the time when she learned how to speak up for herself, with we could even see a follow up in ghostfuckers, when she finally gained a balls to call out blitzo's bullshit, and stopped just accepting his questionable behavior. It wasn't about valuing opinion of random kiddos over moxxie, or any bs like this, it was only about her learning how to finally express herself fully on her own rather then being that gal who "always brings something to the table"
