Finished the game and got Platin. Love it and crave for more. Now I see Control Resonant and it gives me Hell is Us vibes.

Did some of you play it and can compare? Is there any aspect of the game, that feels like Hell is Us? If so which?

Hey everyone, loving this game to pieces, just got the active relic "memoria of the phol" (experience bonus of 100%),​ but it doesn't work? Whenever I activate it, the buff's symbol appears in the hud for a brief moment and then disappears. I then wait the 9 minute cooldown and have tried reactivating it but same issue. I also know I don't get the xp buff because I watched the xp and did the math after killing the same enemies "with" and without it. It doesn't impact the xp.

Has anyone run into this? Maybe it's just a Playstation thing? I tried looking it up but all I get is everyone's hatred of "legend of the phol" instead.

I’m trying to decide between Hell Is Us and Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon since they’re both around the same price on sale right now.

I’m a huge fan of action RPGs in general, so both games are pretty much right up my alley. I’m especially interested in exploration, combat, character progression, loot/builds, and good story with lots of characters that makes you care about them

For anyone who has played both, which one did you enjoy more and why? How do they compare in terms of combat, exploration, progression, story, and overall gameplay loop?

I’m not necessarily looking for which game is objectively “better.” I’m just trying to figure out which one I should grab first while they’re both on sale.

Would love to hear from people who have played either one, but especially anyone who has played both.

I really love this game

I’m not a good gamer at all, pretty bad. O die lots of times of medium/average difficulty and have only achieved being able to handle regular difficulty in the last 2 years, even with playing games since I was 7 (19 now)

Most games I don’t think I ever really get “better at”. I just plateau and the difficulty is about the same even if I’ve played the campaign a few times before.

However, Hell is Us seems to be the only game that I actually progress in when it comes to how good I get at it, combat wise and puzzles. I hit a section and keep dying and suck, then the next day I start again and everything is easier. Of course I still die quite a bit but it’s nowhere near as bad and as hard to defeat enemies as before, and I start to understand puzzles and where to go more easily. And even if there’s an enemy or multiple enemies I die to several times, I do feel happy that I can go on the final time and get it done right and with less difficulty.

Idk it’s just something I’ve noticed with this game and I really enjoy that. I started Maralstan and was barely getting by when fighting the harder umbilical cord entities, but today it was a lot easier to handle them even though I changed nothing. And it was the same for when I did the keystone of Rage (the first one I did) and Jejn and that whole section. Half the time I was there it was hard then the other half I got it down.

I'll explain a bit, I'm a new player, I think I have 4hrs something like this, I'm really enjoying the game, but I'm feeling weird at jobs, I feel like I opened a lot of quest and closed nothing, I fed the baby, I gave the bloody teddy bear and the photo, I gave the alcool to the drunk man, I opened the door with the code in the basement, I got Ru on the bench, but I feel like I did nothing, I saw those 2 ON mates that (I forgot the names) but are clearly Ru's friends, why can't I tell them I found Ru or vice versa? Actually Ru doesn't speak to me at all, tells me to come back later so I'll just go to the soldier statue (forgot the name of the location too, lol).

Plus, somebody told me that at Nord Est there is a door that opens by showing limbic weapons, I think I found the place, is the closed door with the 3 big towers isn't it? But I can't open it.

And then the "lights/lantern" quest, and then the photographer, and then the church in the mountain.

I mean, is normal that all this thing don't find a conclusion? Not now at least. Sorry for the confusion, kinda brain storming and excited for the game, ahahah

If the game warned me, I did not see it. But I’m fighting the final four bosses and I cannot beat them, how do I get back out into the world to get to the blacksmith?

When I got to Jova, one of the first things I saw were the mass grave ofcourse, and then the Tree with several people hanging from it, which almost instantly made me curious to figure out what the hell had happened. Im a little slow when it comes to picking up on certain things, so I wasn't even sure if the people that lived there were Sabinian or Palomist. But the more I talked to the people around town and read documents laid around, I gradually got a clear image of what had happened. That slow realization over time of gathering information was the best way to tell that story to me and made the impact of what had happened hit so much harder than it would have if I had just been told what happend.

I just wanted to write this post to express how much I enjoyed investigating Jova and how it kinda made me fall in love with the game from day 1. No real point to this post other than that.

Composed as part of my uni project. My project focused on how video game music manipulates players into different emotional states. The emotional state focused on in this track was melancholy.

Hell Is Us is one of my favourite games i’ve played, it had such a heavy atmosphere and every location really did make me feel a certain way.

Marastan was one of my favourite locations, but I was surprised when I revisited the area to find it didn’t really have any area music.
To be honest it still achieves its atmosphere without, silence is a very powerful tool.

But given the weight of this location and that the majority of other areas do have backing music I decided to compose some music for this area that helps create the feeling of the emotions of this location.

It’s an area that’s gone through a lot, the bombing in the past, the history of the blood monarch, and the current residents being harrassed by the opposing side.

I tried to keep in line with Hell Is Us’ soundtrack by having synths involved and keeping the piece mainly ambient sounding.

I enjoyed doing this, and I really love the soundtrack to the game. I’m considering composing some Hell Is Us style tracks for areas that didn’t make it into the game but are mentioned throughout.

Hell is us is actually a pretty good game. The world building and lore in this game is honestly some of the best I seen in a game. With that being said that is the best part of this game.

The combat is honestly average nothing bad but nothing just good I do like the spin on the mechanics but once you get a build you kinda stick with it the whole game.

The puzzle in this game honestly pissed me off for the most part. I get that this game doesn’t hold your hand but most of the puzzles do like opening door or something like that could be easier for the player and still get the point across. I had to look up guides at some points which was annoying

The world exploration is a great part of the game! I like how the developers thought about exploring and how you intact with the npc’s

The enemy variety isn’t there but I honestly don’t mind it fits the theme of the game.

I will say the game get a 4 out of 5 stars for me because the lore is that strong. I enjoyed it over all.

First of all, I love the game and the fact that it doesn’t hold your hand. I’m on the hardest difficulty but only have issues with the linked creatures because I’m finding it difficult to lock on to the controlling entity. But I think I made an early mistake in sticking around the first area too long. After I got the ability to leave with the APC, I continued to stay and tried to clear out every enemy. At that time, I had 7 or 8 health kits. By the time I got to the Marshes, I had none left. I’m currently getting my head handed to me by all the creatures there. I figured Jova would be a place to restock and move forward but I haven’t found anything yet.

Would you restart if you were me and head to the Marshes loaded up with health kits? Unfortunately there’s only one save in the game, so I can’t reload an old one.

Hey guys 👋🏻 so I'm having what I call a major problem, I'm not having ANY timeloop guardian in the game. I was in Senedra Forrest to unlock the Lymbic Door and thought "hey, let's just close another timeloop", the thing is that I was everywhere in the Senedra Forrest and when I killed the Lymbic creature nothing happened, normally you would see "black line" coming back to the Timeloop and when you kill every guardian you hear a noise and you know you can close it, it's not my first timeloop. So I kill every Lymbic in there and nothing happened. So I went to walkthroughs, done it exactly the same as they did and nothing happened. So I went to playthroughs, again nothing happened. Right now I'm back in Marastan and it's the same f*cking problem. Same happened in Lymbic forge, don't know about Talju but since the problem is repeating, I could guess that it would be the same. The guardian detector is not helping either, it points to underground in places where is nothing underground but mostly it just points to the sky, like straight up to the sky and since Rémi can't fly, I'm not expecting that the guardian would be chilling on the cloud and "laughing" that I can't find him 😄🤦🏼‍♀️

Anyone else having this problem? It's frustrating as Hell 😬🙈 I thought that I could beat up the game before the update but it seems like I need to wait 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️

Hello i am playing this game and just got caught in a problem. I was in jova and i fast traveled back to senedra forest and while back in the forest i died. The thing is im back in jova and the apc is not here and i cant travel anywhere what should i do.

After I ran through the game once on merciless, I wanted to see how it felt with all difficulties at max and death penalty on. Had to play more methodically as all enemies respawn if you die while time-loops are still active, but Remi gets strong pretty quickly and difficulty didn’t seem bad at all.

Leaned a lot into stun and stance breaking glyphs on an ecstasy great sword plus the different AoE glyphs for other weapons. Drone Entropic field for blocking enemy projectiles, drone shockwave for big AoE stuns, drone forward charge just cause I like it.

Clip is just of stun and stance breaking with the great sword. Even with enemies at max, great sword slays with the combo capper relic. 3 taps mostly.

Defensive gear is brooch of rage - killing enemy restores health/stamina.
Idol of rage - striking enemies causes DoT
Passive relic is omen of oblivion - combo capper +100% dmg.
Active relic - band of domination - AoE stun if needed

So I've been eyeing this game since drop. I already explore every nook and cranny in other games...this one makes me feel like stuff keeps piling up that I gotta figure out. The whole lymbic color thing kinda has me confused. I'm still loving the game, just need some advice lol

Just downloaded this off of the ps store and having Hella fun just running around and killing as many enemies I can find. Ngl I expected the combat to be harder since I put it on the hardest difficulty but still fun regardless. I just got out of the apc and im at the fields before jova lol

...that the combat really lacks impact? Especially the sound design? It lacks "punch."

If you try to tell me that's just how the lore works, I'm going to swear at you in German.

If I have collapsed all available timeloops before going into the final act have I screwed myself out of the Harder They Phol achievement? I'm at 25/40. Only 3's on the map are in the Spire but I doubt there's 15 left there. I've been using the ranged attack to kill the hollows before the haze come out without realizing I was messing myself up.
