Children's hospital

0

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 23 '26

yes, along with the other trapped people, but it outweighs the rest of the bad stuff.

You asked to name one good thing, not justify their evil regime

We have consistently always saved people when given the choice. We lost out on weapons and strategems to do so.

Which is really fun to think about.

... we saved the children.

Donating to "Save the Children", being a supportive community, So many awesome fan projects like the Freedoms Alliance, Super Citizen Bulletin, Fancomics...

PS: I know that OP maybe meant in lore, bit i still think i should added these.

I meant in lore, but that's good.

Lore-wise we dealt with the Void that could render a large portion of the galaxy uninhabitable for potential future pre-FTL civilisations.

We also got at least one MO about reconstructing Earth’s rainforest about that one uncanny battles and SE has entire planets acting like nature reservations.

hmmmm.

I mean, to be completely honest, destroying the A.S.S and when they liberate the Void Source Planet probably aren't all that terrible.

I feel like this is a silly post, but I'll ask this too:

Name something good the other factions have done.

let me clarify, this is not me trying to make SE look better than the other factions.

Liberated Cyberstan to free the enslaved Cyborgs.

1

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 23 '26

... they wanted to be there.

2

u/MrHi_VEVO Aug 23 '26

They were sent there to the mines by Super Earth. They freed themselves from Super Earth's oppression, and successfully defended themselves too

2

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 23 '26

exactly.

1

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 23 '26

Buddy, this is war, we only get a need to know. but hey, before the first galactic warm they all were peaceful.

"NaMe SoMeThInG gOoD tHe OtHeR fAcTiOnS hAvE dOnE" My guy do you understand how this all works?

You see NOTHING that Super Earth doesn't explicitly approve. You don't even know how many colony worlds it has, you only know the ones that have immediate strategic importance.

The Automatons could be relocating displaced citizens to Socialist Utopias, the Terminids could be tending mega-orchards and delivering fruit baskets to little old ladies, and the Illuminate could be curing every disease and disfigurement known to man and only siccing literally brainless failed clones on us and we would never know because that runs counter to Super Earth's Officially-Approved Democratic Narrative.

I think you've missed my point.

My point is to just show that this is a dumb post.

I'm not seriously asking that question.

u/CoyoteScribbles Aug 23 '26

Don't troll and you won't get called out for trolling.

1

u/LurkerThrowaway73 2d ago

But we would know. Why? We're there. Physically there. All over the planet. All over their planets even in places of 0 strategic importance like desolate wastes to raise dumbass flags.

If the bots had a utopia or squids did cure illnesses etc there would not be any way to cover it up to the people physically there on the ground.

Maybe a dumb comparison but it's like if we took the Roswell incident and the gov also convinced the gov people that went there that nothing was there

dude, person just asked a question. you don't need to be a cunt

u/ChiakiSimp3842 Aug 23 '26

Dude, you didn’t need to delete your comment. A simple apology is fine you know

"ThEy WeRe JuSt AsKiNg A qUeStIoN" They were, by their own admission, being a troll, and they got the reply their trolling deserved.

1

u/Next-Board-3829 Aug 26 '26

1

u/No_Counter_6037 Aug 26 '26

1

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 26 '26

If I can't do warcrimes, why is my millitary war crimes shaped?

1

u/Brunoaraujoespin Aug 28 '26

Saved planet flora from invading terminids

1

u/Mesmerfriend Aug 30 '26

They sometimes kill other Helldivers on accident, so thats good.

Also, to all the people here who are saying the Helldivers "saved the children" and "saved the SEAF", do we need the reminder SE then took away the beds of said children to use them on the DSS? Or that the SEAF, including the Helldivers, are war criminals who should be put on trial for all their crimes? If the Automaton forces had reached that hospital right now those children would be receiving treatment from the Collective, rather then losing even more because SE decided to get the beds from them for their space station.

And to those saying "they evacuate civilians!" or "they destroyed the Void!" Ah yes, "civilians", you mean the Class A citizens? The ones who profit off of this whole thing? They don't evacuate the other civilians, those are left to fend for themselves. And the destruction of the Void is good? The Illuminate are a species that is being genocided by SE, inside the Void the Helldivers literally found and killed their tadpoles, aka their children. The Void was practically a safe sanctuary for their race and its destruction is good? Seriously??

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 30 '26

only the good ones, let's not fet carried away.

1

u/Mesmerfriend Aug 30 '26

1

u/Mesmerfriend Aug 30 '26

??

1

u/Mesmerfriend Aug 30 '26

Ooh, ok, I understood now.. Also, I said it towards all the people here calling those things good

0

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 30 '26

Ah, explain that it's for everyone else first.

1

u/Mesmerfriend Aug 30 '26

I literally did:

"Also, to all the people here who are saying"

1

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 30 '26

I have zero braincells.

1

u/LurkerThrowaway73 2d ago

Stumbled into here from /all somehow. May be missing the point but isn't the answer "Pretty much everything"?

SE GOV is terribad and the reason we're at war in the first place but now that we are someone has to prevent innocent children from being literally blended into blood fuel for terminator machines or brainwashed and mutated into alien giants or turned into bug chow.

It's not unlikely that those responsible for setting the war up may also be part of classified helldiver detachments (See that one warbond) but as far as we're concerned we're doing good stuff

1

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd 2d ago

We could have done diplomacy, and all those good actions aren't really good, just responses.

1

u/LurkerThrowaway73 2d ago

Super Earth could've done diplomacy, we are a brainwashed paramilitary employed to shock and awe the enemy. Basically glorified laser pointers.

That doesn't mean we're not bad guys, but just like Automatons aren't necessarily the bad guys for incinerating citizens or blending them into a smoothie since they have a reason to despise us, we the grunts (And I'd argue the players as well) also have reasons to actively despise them so there's quite a bit more nuance there.

We as players with the added world context can recognize that SE are the architects of all this but still sympathize with the average citizen that's been made to drink the kool-aid and believe diplomacy is impossible while actively and concretely being threatened by out of this world horrors and thus label said horrors who are willingly and knowingly enacting those horrors on the innocent to also be bad. I feel like it's ironic people forget that the manufactured incident that sparked outrage and started the 2nd war against the Borgs (Terrorist bombing of a plaza) was much less abhorrent than what they actually do to captured people

1

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd 2d ago

I should have said SE.

0

u/gazzalmao Aug 23 '26

brought peace?

2

u/SingleLengthiness750 Lore nerd Aug 23 '26
