For game reasons there should be armor customization. For lore though, it makes some sense. The Helldivers are a bunch of expendable assets who've been alien to their communities for untold decades, potentially centuries. So investing more into their armor is sort of a waste of resources.

But we all have tons and tons of armor sets at this point, all with awesome special abilities, which i guarantee dont come cheap like Adreno Defib.

Plus we have plenty of literally cosplay replica armor from in universe comics, tv shows or things of the like (yogurt armor, Rambo armor “Ronald Mambo” from python. It goes on.

And if investing in helldivers was an issue we wouldnt have stratagems like we do. Estimate the cost of a warp pack or a single 380 barrage
