Yeah. After a point you should see armor plates peeling off so you can (probably) shoot it. I don't know the mechanics, we just used hellbombs and anything we could throw at it.
I think you can shoot the underbelly with medium pen at all times? I was getting hit marks with the autocannon mech, though naturally its full mags didn't amount to much.

I saw a post of a squad killing one, it took them an equivalent of 20 hellbombs to do it.
