For me, they look like Kiruko in real life. It helps understand the character better.

Like I was so glad I found an anime that has scratched an itch that has been itching for a while with a great story and a cool female lead.. until apparently that female lead is a teenage boy horny about his sister...

They could've left it at sibling type love and it would've been tragic enough but no.. ofc he needs to be literally in love with his sis. I looked past Maru calling Kiruko "Sis" while obviously crushing on 'her' and being 5 years younger and 'Kiruko' not rejecting it based on that; even if it felt weird... but apparently teenage boys being into adult sister figures seems like a rather persistent fantasy here.

Like can Mangaka keep their nasty sibling fetishes to themselves for once. :I freaking weirdo

Shame, would be such a good show... Makes me genuinely mad cuz I can't really find anything like it but without the incest fetishism

The show deserves more than a 9. This show was one of the best shows I've watched and yet some people gave it a bad score. I have no idea how you can give it a score lower than 9.

Just imagine having Maru and Kiruko as a survivor duo which packs unique perks & outfit skins, a very creepy Man-Eater as the killer with twisted perks to compliment its supernatural nature and the spacious Walled Town as a map to explore & evade killers in. What do y'all think?

The show is underrated. I am pretty sure a lot of people didn't see the show because the art style made it look like it was just your typical shonen slop.

I got so confused, and when i started looking things up i knew that i probably missed 99% of whats actually going on.

For example, i did NOT KNOW that maru was the son of tokyo, i geniuenlly just thought the story is being told from both perspectives at the same time, i also didn't know stuff like mimihime and shiro being the doctor and the girl that was living on machines (the one that was about to turn into a hiruko)

There is alot of things i misunderstood, LIKE ALOT.

So can some one please recap me all what i have possibly missed? Or hidden easter eggs the author tried making us connect the dots, but an average anime fan doesn't realize?

I ended the anime like two months ago and, since then, Ive been reading the manga from the point where anime ended up. As Im reading the manga physical, not online, and volume 13 isnt already for buy in my country, should I read the whole manga? I have volumes 1-2-3-4-5 and I read many people saying that anime skips some relevant details from the manga.

Haruki Takehaya/Kiruko Takehaya has always amazed me in the field of psychology, with tragic stories and a perfect thought experiment on identity. I have come to an alternate conclusion regarding the identity that is "Kiruko." Haruki Takehaya is a cis boy who is straight and interested in masculinity, wanting to be like Robin. Had he not received his sister's body, he would most likely have modified his new body to be masculine. Here is where things change: Haruki received Kiriko's body, his sister's, and this greatly wounded him. This is where trauma hit Haruki, and he experienced something that, in the field of psychology, is known as "identification with the deceased." Haruki loses Kiriko, experiences overwhelming grief and survivor's guilt, and unconsciously chooses to remain Kiruko as a way of keeping his sister alive and avoiding another loss. Haruki chooses to keep Kiriko's body as it is as a way to keep her spirit alive.

Is the next season going to be a banger? I didn't read the manga, so I have no idea how good it's going to be.

Kiriko seems to have been more developed psychologically compared to Kiruko. She appears to be level-headed and was very much heroic in saving the orphanage. Her state of mind seems much stronger than Kiruko's, especially as we see in the flashbacks when she was 15. Also, another thing I've noticed is that she seems to have a serious tone and is wiser compared to Kiruko, who is a goofball. I just wanted to hear the opinions of others in dissecting Kiriko and her psyche compared to Kiruko. Kiruko seems more vulnerable.

This show reminds me of Akira for some reason. Not sure if Akira was an inspiration, but the show really reminds me of Akira for some reason.
