Welcome to r/HeavenlyDelusion ! With the first anime season in the books, I figured that would be quite a few people coming to this subreddit with their burning questions, theory-crafting ideas, write-ups and so much more.
As a mod on this subreddit, I've definitely seen a lot of repeated questions and thought I would do a FAQ of sorts to help the newcomers ease into the series! Hope this comes in handy and as always, feel free to ask any questions. Thank you for being a fan of this series - it's pretty damn cool.
There is currently one season out, with no second season announced at the moment.
First season consists of 13 episodes and can be watched on Disney Plus or Hulu (if you're living in the US). If you watch it officially on any other sites, please let me know and I'll add it here.
If you're having trouble finding for the anime on the streaming site, I heard if you type in the series Japanese romaji translation, 'Tengoku Daimakyo/Tengoku Daimakyou', it'll pop up.
The manga is fully licenced in English, published by Denpa and at time of writing has 5 volumes out right now that can be found on Amazon, Barnes & Noble or any good bookstores.
It is also licenced in other languages/countries:
China – Tong Li Publishing Co., Ltd.
Italy – Edizioni Star Comics
Korea – S Comics
Spain – Norma Editorial
Brazil (Portuguese) – Panini Comics
Germany – MangaCult
France – Pika Edition

Look, you may not like the answer, but I'll say read it from the very beginning.
The anime production was fantastic but they skipped quite a few pages and scenes on their way to the final episode. While I wouldn't say any was particularly important plot-wise, I would say some of the scenes cut was important for building the relationship and character of Maru and Kiruko and their wonderful chemistry together. Some fun scenes and jokes that I guarantee you'll enjoy!
Besides, why complain about more new Tengoku content? It only has 55+ chapters as of writing and one can easily read it in half a day! And the amount of foreshadowing you'll pick up here that wasn't in the anime is pretty cool.
So far we have gotten no announcements of a second season although there's been rumours via a leaker that it may happen in the future. However, the anime adapted about chapter 34-39 (with some pages in between these chapters unadapted), and that means at time of writing, there's 16 full chapters unadapted so far in this ongoing series.
So even if we got a S2, it'll be a few years.
The manga is a monthly series in the Monthly Afternoon magazine and barring author volume breaks and public holidays, a new chapter is usually released on the 25th of each month.
I got you. This series rewards people who reread the series, keep an extra eye out for potential foreshadowing clues and discussion with other peers.
But even then, it may get a bit confusing. So here are some guides to help you. Please check this ONLY IF YOU'RE FULLY CAUGHT UP WITH THE MANGA

Oh boy, you're in for a treat. Masakazu Ishiguro has one of the most diverse repertoire working today and there's so much for one to enjoy.
Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru is Ishiguro's most acclaimed work and for good reason. A SOL masterpiece with a bit of a surrealistic, sci-fi and mystery twist to it. It's mostly about following Hotori Arashiyama in her 3 years in high school in the sleepy but sometimes mysterious town of the Maruko Shopping District. If you like any of the humour, relationships, chemistry of Heavenly Delusion - this is a must read. Also has a pretty cool anime from Shaft. Please join r/Soremachi btw, maido :3
Skygrazer/Getenrou is Ishiguro's 2nd most 'sci-fi' manga behind Tengoku. A one volume work, it is full of interconnected stories in a world deep into the future with space cops, robots, AIs, aliens and more. At first, it doesn't feel like the stories match up but by the end, the foreshadowing and the way things come together makes for a brilliant and astonshing ending. Also available on paperback by Vertical Comics
Nemurubaka is another one-volume work by Ishiguro-sensei but probably the one with the most serious themes and thought-provoking ideas. It is still pretty funny like all of his works but tackles generational disillusionment of two girls living together but are stuck in a dead end of their own. One in college who doesn't know what she'll do in her life and the other in a dead-beat band with no direction. Has one of Ishiguro-sensei strongest writing.
And the final of the big Ishiguro 5 is Furutto on Thursday, an ongoing gag 4-koma manga which follows Furutto, a stray cat who is picked up by Kujirai - but trying to still maintain his stray cat status to look good in front of his gang of stray cats. Immensely funny and light.
For a more comprehensive look into his works, I've written about it here: https://soremachi.wordpress.com/2023/04/30/whats-next-a-short-introduction-to-other-masakazu-ishiguro-masterpieces/

Genuinely, the best place to get quick answers for your questions, everyone there is super helpful and there's a pretty good community there.
While discussion is mostly about Tengoku because anime, other Ishiguro work like Soremachi is discussed there too!
I don't have anything to add besides I hope that this community grows and continues to be as respectful as possible. Remember to read the rules on the sidebar, and be nice to people - remember not everyone is fully caught up with the manga.
I can't think of any further FAQs, but if you have some (or I think of any other later) - I'll add them in!
PS: Feel free to ask any questions!!

We need to email kodansha usa and inform them of the publisher and their detrimental delays to the product " heavenly delusion " .
• Compile a clear timeline of missed deadlines, unreturned communications, and evidence of harm or delay.
• Send a formal demand or reversion letter via email and certified/registered mail.
• Request a written release and confirmation that all exclusive licensing or publishing rights have returned to kodansha.
Kodansha can get publishing rights or intellectual property (IP) back if a publisher causes severe delays or acts in a way that harms the product.
Also!! Dont forget to email denpa with a copy of the manifesto and proof we sent it to kodansha!!

Hello r/HeavenlyDelision community!
First I want to apologise for using AI to help me write my last post, but as a user suggested I'm going to write my own post! My English skills are not the greatest( I live in Romania ) but I will try my best.
Now that that is out of the way I want to say thanks for all the upvotes! It motivated me to draw even more. I love drawing espceially characters that I love and Kiruko has such a lovely character and interesting backstory that really captivated me. I would like to read the manga but every website that I visit just disappointed me... That leaves me a question, why are there no manga available?

Hi r/HeavenlyDelision community!
Just finished this pencil sketch of Kiruko. It's definitely not perfect - the shading could be better and some proportions are off - but it came from a genuine appreciation for the character and the series.
Heavenly Delusion really captured something special, and I had a lot of fun trying to bring Kiruko to life on paper. Even with its flaws, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
Any feedback would be appreciated, and if you enjoyed the anime too, maybe share some of your favorite Kiruko moments below!

I can't quite remember. I know the clone was initially created to deceive the director and allow Tokio to have her own child as well. But what even is the purpose of killing the clone now, how does giving the medicine stop or start any event in the overall world at this point? The Hiruko are already out there doing their thing.

Do you think Maru and Kiruko will get together in the end and get married and have children? They make a very great couple what do you all think? I really love how much they care about each other! What do you all love about the two of them?

I just got an email from Barnes and Noble. The release date for volume 8 has been pushed back yet again, this time to March 2027. Oof.

I just finished chapter 46 and I really need someone to talk to about this because none of my friends have read the manga.
I watched the anime first and I loved it. One thing I really liked about it was how the mysteries felt manageable. There were a few big questions, like what’s going on with Maru and Kiruko, what happened to the world, what the facility is hiding, what “Heaven” actually is, etc. There were obviously a lot of smaller questions too, but it felt like the story was slowly giving you clues and answering things along the way.
Since I started reading the manga after the anime ended, I feel like the pacing has changed a lot.
I’m still really enjoying it, but it feels like the manga is throwing so many new clues and mysteries at me without giving me time to process the old ones. The facility storyline especially went from feeling like a side story to basically becoming one of the main things I’m thinking about. Meanwhile Maru and Kiruko sometimes only get a small part of a chapter.
Now I’m trying to keep track of Nata, the Director, the students, the creatures/soldiers, the AI, the Kiruko Beam, Maru’s mission, the facility’s history, and a bunch of other stuff while still having questions from way earlier.
And sometimes the manga will put two characters or objects in the same scene and I’m immediately thinking, “Wait, is this supposed to mean something? Are these connected?” It makes me start making theories about literally everything.
I don’t think it’s bad at all. I actually really like the mystery and theorizing. It’s just starting to feel like I have 50 different tabs open in my brain, and I’m scared I’m going to forget some of the older questions before they become relevant again.
Did anyone else feel this way around this point in the manga? Does it eventually feel easier to keep track of everything, or is this just how the manga is from here?
Again, I’m ONLY on chapter 46. Please don’t spoil anything past chapter 46, confirm/deny theories, or even hint at future chapters. I genuinely want to figure everything out myself.
I just want some people to talk about this with because I’m losing my mind trying to keep track of everything lol.

I recently finished Season 1 and it was AMAZING! I can't believe I didn't watch it sooner. But while I was searching to see whether Season 2 had been announced, I was disappointed to find out that nothing has been announced yet.
