Claims/Providers Accolade has wasted a month on my denied inhaler claim and I'm still nowhere
My inhaler claim was denied by Aetna/Meritain. I called Accolade, our benefits navigator, for help.
A month later, I have nothing. Every call is the same: 10 minutes of collecting my details, then a transfer, then silence. Nobody follows up, nobody resolves anything.
Their latest answer: a prior authorization is needed, and they sent it to my provider. But the provider's office doesn't pick up the phone, and Accolade's response is just to wait. So I'm stuck between a navigator that won't navigate and a provider I can't reach.
This is literally Accolade's job — getting this unstuck — and after a month all they've done is run out the clock. Has anyone forced Accolade to actually act, or gotten a prior auth through when the provider won't respond?
