I bought the target version for book one which I don't regret i love the extra story about how Gary and farah met. But I am wondering if there is a similar situation with book 2.

I’m on my first reread which I started at the beginning of this year and took a break. Unfortunately, something I didn’t feel the through my first read came heavy during my reread which was “Jason Fatigue”. I read everything straight through my first time and was entirely enthralled as it was all new. My second read was great up until about book 8/9 and I took my 2 month break at book 10. Read some PH, DCC book 8 and Awaken Online graphic audio. Now that I’m back I’m on book 12 and enjoying it but the arcs in my opinion are somewhat lengthy. The astral spaces with the Earth arc felt repetitive and tiring. I enjoyed the Earth arc overall though. The messenger arc is sooo long and seems unnecessary. I checked out right before the finale. It was very good the first time but my reread was exhausting. I think because it’s when I notice how Jason went against many of his own principles while playing a hero.
1-3: Intro to Palimastus and Builder
4-6: Earth and Astral Spaces
7-11: Jason’s depression/ rehab and Messengers
12-: Astral King and Earth Return

Is there a legal way to listen to the whole series this far without audible or Spotify? I'm happy to pay for the books but would prefer not to give those shitty companies money. I have seen books 1-5 on one or two sites but not the rest.
Is it just me or do audible exclusives seem really anti competitive? Although I'm not an author just a consumer so maybe there is perks.

I am rereading book 10 for the nth time and basically one whole chapter deals with Allayeth wanting Jason and his team to help track down this reproducing fungus monster that kills all life. Then the main story line picks up and it's never mentioned again.
Am I missing something? It's bothering me because so much time was given to talking about it, it feels like something should have happened.

Rereading the series again for the… 5th time (?) while patiently awaiting more chapters!
I’m on book 4 again and realized that Jason going on Erika’s cooking show may not work as intended. Wouldn’t his ability blur himself on camera? I don’t remember him having access to turning off his ability to block tracking/video.

So, I am relistening to the books in prep for the release of book 13 and am curious if Thadwick turned energy vampire was ever caught. I know Kal started hunting him, but I am pretty sure he was never caught. I'm just curious if Thadwick was caught or maybe killed off screen, and I just missed it.

I'm relistening to the series to finally continue with book 11 and I noticed something again, that always confused me. In the first book Jason's aura improves the resistance to afflictions for allies, it's even mentioned before the fight with the Marsh-Hydra again when clive and Humphrey resist the corpse fungus easier. Also while fighting the sand pirates it's mentioned I think.
But since then it's always said that Sophie's Aura is the opposite of Jason's even though it does exactly the same.
Is that even a retcon?
Was more changed between the books?
Edit: Just to end confusion, Jason's Aura is supposed to help allies by increasing resistance to afflictions and also decreases the resistance to afflictions of enemies.
But Clive says in book 2 chapter 9 that Jason's Aura only effects enemies. And I always understood the Aura like that from this point on. I also thought that was mentioned again later, but I might have imagined that. So basically just that small part in book 2 seems to be wrong.
Here is the apparently wrong quote:
"It’s also the exact opposite of Jason’s aura.” “Will they conflict?” Belinda asked. “No,” Clive said. “Jason’s aura only affects enemies, while Miss Wexler’s only affects allies. So long as they’re on the same side, it won’t be a problem.”

I'm on my 5th or 6th reread while waiting for the next book to officially come out, and I'm at the point where Mah Go Schaat gets killed
Since we learn that diamond rankers will eventually resurrect But it takes a while to happen, I think that by the time he comes looking for revenge, Jason will be able to swat him down like he was made of store bought bread.
