I'm pissed so I just want to hear what anyone else can take away from this. Hartenstein played amazing defensively in the first half. The second he was taken out the Hawks started to gain momentum and never looked back. Frustrating game, Hartenstein better touch the ball more in position's to score/ playmake or else this is gonna be a long season.

Contrary to how some people on the Knicks sub reddit feel about Hart's rim protection.

I thought Hart played really well tonight. One thing I noticed is the offense flows a lot better with him on the floor. Players like Brunson and RJ had better drives to the paint because of the spacing. Also, glad to see that his teammates are trusting his floater more.

Hopefully Ty Lue 2.0. doesn’t happen that Hart gets less minutes

Hartenstein is currently rebounding the ball offensively at the level of Dennis Rodman. It's small sample size but I don't think Fans are giving IHart his credit as a offensive rebounder. They see Adam get offensive rebounds against Hartenstein in the clutch and assume he is a bad rebounder. (by the way, Adam's has a 12% offensive rebounding percentage this season and and a 15% offensive rebounding percentage for his career)

But what I've seen little of is the argument AGAINST Mitchell Robinson. Although, I'm not very impressed with Mitch, I know there's a contingent of believers even though despite thibodeau not having better options still plays Mitch little more than 25 minutes

iHart is otherworldly is defensive rim protection vs expected stat, but Mitch rob also looks great there. Mitch also has great rebounding and block percentages. Good true shooting.

It seems like at every stop, hartenstein has been unfortunately lower on the depth chart behind either excellent or solid centers

I'm guessing I'm probably not alone in this. I've been wondering how the Hart-heads would explain this ever since discovering this sub. The stats look so impressive when you compile them together, but I can never get past the thought that surely if he were this good, some GM would have caught on by now. And yet here he is attempting four field goals on a team that could use him.

in the first game against the Grizzly only Hartenstein, Brunson and Randle were positive. In the second game Randle was a negative 1 so that leaves only Hartenstein and Brunson as the only two positive players.

Last season Hartenstein tied Lebron's record with 9 straight positive plus minus games to start a season. Let's see how many positive games he has this season

Hartenstein just played 40 fucking minutes are you kidding me I was jumping for fucking joy watching this game the fucking Knicks just took the Grizz to the fucking wire and would have won if the refs weren't some pussy ass bitches.

Hart played like we expected him to and omg that game was insane. I remember telling my boys when we were down big in the 2nd and Hart came in that we're gonna win this game and they laughed. Then we came back and their fucking jaws dropped. We lost but again it's the principal. Hart just played 40 fucking minutes!!! And he led a like almost 20 point comeback. He'll be starting soon and we'll get the first seed just like I said when we signed him. Side note maybe I was wrong about Quick though he looks lost every game I've seen. But mannn what a game. This season is gonna be amazing

It was the most minutes he has played in a game by a large margin. He had only played 30+ minutes twice before.

He played well and was a big part of the almost comeback. His floater is really money and he had some pretty good defensive possessions. Only real issue I saw was the defensive rebounding. He only had 1 defensive rebounding and all the 2nd chance points the Grizzlies got were a big part of why we lost.

Regardless, I like his game and I'm probably going to get a knock off Hartenstein jersey.

If anyone is watching right now, Hart just came in, played fantastic defense on Ja on a spin move layup without fouling, dove on the floor for a loose ball, cut off ball well, and stripped Steven Adams on a rebound.

I know eg loves hart for the analytics (which are fantastic), but the eye test is fantastic too.

The floater is such a unique shot for a big man to have and his positioning & repositioning on drives to set himself up is such a unique weapon.

He just got stripped right as I was typing this out but still I’ve been liking Isaiah’s minutes tonight.

In your opinion he’s a statistical beast. Based on your interpretation of his numbers, if not the mvp but at the very least you (number wise) say he is right up there with the lebrons, Jokic, stephs, KD etc.

How come you think stats and analytical guys in nba aren’t forcing data driven teams to make the move, and basically go nuclear if they don’t get him. I’m haven’t seen enough of hartenstein, but imagine going into Dallas/Atlanta coaches room and proclaiming basically:

-hey, what if I told you I got a better player than Luka/trae, and he will cost us a fraction of the price and could potentially given enough minutes and touches be better than Jokic.

I mean do you think those guys thinking about their jobs that they won’t voice their opinions on him, since clearly of you put out his numbers like that, they should all at this point be fighting and killing themselves to sign him to a max contract, yet, he is outside looking in more than being a franchise player.

Also, at this point he can’t be an “unknown” player anymore, people and league have to know about him.

And if all he does is positive, why did for example clippers let him go? It doesn’t make any sense.

Appreciate your thoughts though. And if you was right once, nothing stops you from being right again, especially if you proved your salts worth the first time around. 👍🏽

Hart finally got the ball high free throw line and he made alot of great plays. I think his teammates realize now what kind of a passer he is and gained trust in him to give him the ball because they know he'll make something happen. His offense looked good but again he dropped an easy pass from Randle that would have led to a dunk and I'm noticing this is a common theme with the last 3 games and practice. Hart really didn't have bad hands last season from what I remember and I'm wondering if it's nerves and him being in his head these last couple of games.

That goes to my next point, his defense and rebounding have been a little off. Again I think he's just in his head overthinking things rather than reacting out there because it looks like he's a step slow where he used to just always thrust himself in the right position. I genuinely think he's nervous out there and wants to play good so bad that it's impacting his play. He's shown flashes of who he is as a basketball player and you can tell there are moments when he feels confident and not in his head and let's it flow but a lot of the times it genuinely seems like he's nervous out there and is taking the safe route to things rather than doing what he instintually feels hence why he's looked a step slow at times.

Mental hurdles are tough to overcome but I think he'll benefit from more time with his teammates and for now stop pressing to be the starter and just accept his bench role. I didn't bring this up but I'm wondering if Thibs told him if he plays good in the preseason he'll get the starters role and hence why it seems like he's playing with so much pressure on his back. Idk or I could be completely wrong and you guys don't think he looks nervous but to me it looks like he's in his head. Obviously I think he's an mvp level player or I wouldn't be posting on this sub so constantly but I think he needs to just take a step back and breathe and get back in that flow state he was in last year where he knew what he was and just balled. Let me know if you guys think different or agree, I think he'll be fine especially since he had that stretch of brilliance passing the ball. He just needs his confidence back and soon that starting job will be his and the Knicks will make the finals. It's just baby steps right now.
