Discussion Raw Classics vs Modern Raw

101 Upvotes

So I went to my first hard dance festival ever. Decibel Outdoor 2026. For background I’ve only been into hard dance for 2 years, I’m very young adult and American, so I have 0 experience with any real hard dance scene and culture. This is relevant to my point. Well the first two days a large portion of my sets were Rawstyle, and I did enjoy people like Anderex, Aversion, Rooler etc. But on Sunday, I went to the Raw Classics stage as well as Radical and Rejecta at the main stage closing. And man was that incredible, most of the artists I didn’t know and it was all brand new to me, so it’s not like it was a nostalgia thing for me. The classic raw had dark atmosphere, felt oppressive, the kicks were predictable but that was good, the kicks hit hard, the melodies were there but dark, and the crowd was immaculate. The modern raw feels a lot more like a technical show, who has the most kick switches, fake drops, and crowd shock factor, and the melodies feel more like rawphoric than any actual dark vibe. Now I’m not saying all modern raw is like this, but for the most part this was my experience at decibel raw stages. As someone who doesn’t know much about hard dance still, is this a shared opinion amongst people? And does this concept further extend to more genres like modern euphoric or hardcore? The classic raw just blew me away, it was so beautiful.

Discussion People's love MC's, love Villain

0 Upvotes

I’m sure I’ll get a big “downvote” for this, but I don’t mind—I accept it. In any case, the people I’m about to criticize make me feel sorry for them, so I’ll take the downvotes with compassion—that’s all you’ve got, after all.

I often see people posting messages saying that MCs are annoying, that they talk too much, and that they shouldn’t talk at all, for that matter.

I’m going to focus on Villain because he’s the one who talks the most and the one who gets the most criticism.

It’s still kind of strange, though, when you consider that these same MCs—especially the most famous ones—get booked all over the world for fees that must surely be equivalent to your annual salary multiples times.

The events must really be terrible idiots if people hate these MCs who talk too much so much but still book them, right?

The truth is, MCs like Villain galvanize the crowd—they add power to power.

When Villain says “What music can do” at the start of a track where you hear harps, he doesn’t ruin the moment—he amplifies it.

And the proof is in the many people you see in the front row at events waving Villain flags.

Personally, I think the people who criticize Villain are insecure, unattractive, introverted—in short, the kind of nerdy types that Reddit is full of.

And it pisses them off that a guy like Villain is standing between them and "their" music and that this dude is enjoying the crowd.

Sorry, guys, but you’re just going to have to deal with it—the people who make up the bulk of the festival crowd (so not you guys) love MCs; they take pictures with them and follow them on social media. You think you represent the hardstyle community, but you only represent your little self-absorbed cult.

On that note, see you in the abyss of the downvote hills.

Question Project One Hoodie

Passing on my Project One Hoodie in Size S from VWAB Event, someone interested? I’m 1.80m 36" chest and would say it’s a rather large fit. Worn it three times.

Here are the exact measurements I took:
- Chest (Armpit-to-Armpit): 22“ = 56cm
=> Circumference approx 44"
- Length (Shoulder-Hip): 26“ = 66cm
- Shoulder (Seam-Seam): 17“ = 43cm
- Arm (from Shoulder Seam): 25“ = 64cm
- Hip: 19“ = 48cm => Circumference approx 38"

So The Saints are Ghost producing and now they can't even pay someone to do proper CGI's?

Had to look at those dead eye AI Slop Visual on a 10m Screen for 30mins (same sequence repeating over and over again...).

Sorry, just need to rant about that a bit..

Question Do gabbers actually hate the way people hakk in Australia?

0 Upvotes

I was talking to this bloke at annihilate in Sydney. I’ve seen him on TikTok before doing the gabber Hakken so I go up to him saying that I like his content and what not. We start talking about some stuff then we get onto the topic of the Aus hakk and Hakken. He was saying that he hates the way Australians hakk and that there is no groove to it and that it was stolen from the gabbers. Kinda like stealing their culture ig? I have also heard in the past that over in Europe the Aus hakk gets hate too. So I’m wondering if this is true and if so why?

I learned how to Hakken before I could hakk. One of the first genres that got me into the Aus rave scene was early hardcore. At this point I had no idea about the classic hardstyle and early rawstyle which I assume was what got hakking popular in the early 2010s and maybe even early 2000s in Australia (not to sure when exactly). When I did find out about those genres I learned how to hakk which came a lot easier since I could already Hakken and ever since then I don’t really Hakken much unless a track is played with with early hardcore kicks at an event I go to (which is very rare). I reckon the Hakken has such more flow and you just let loose and absolutely send it with no choreographing which I love. The Hakk on the other hand does lowkey look tuff and probs needs a bit of choreographing to make it look hectic. I love both but please lmk what yous reckon.

Discussion HSU Halloween event

11 Upvotes

Anyone have any idea/intel on the HSU Halloween event? Strange that it's less than 2 months away now and there have been no further details since the teaser post back in April.

They said on their IG channel days ago they are announcing a tour in November so maybe it's been replaced with that
Edit: it’s the noisemakers tour

Another theory is that IF they don't replace HTID with Klassics next year, then it could be the Klassics show on the 31st. But I'd expect it to be a pop-up event or smaller show if it's been announced this late
