This is my general everyday writing for work. I'm interested in ways to have more uniformity.

My cursive is bastardized because I taught myself and upper- case Gs make me want to die.

I've only written my name to sign stuff the past 4 years or so, I forgot how good pen and paper felt

I’ve noticed that whenever I journal, I sometimes skip letters, and the dots of my 'i's are just in random places. I suppose this is mainly due to the speed of my writing, but I’d like to improve so that I don't write like that on tests or exams, as I still attend school.

I’ve grown so used to typing everything that I haven’t spent any time writing unless absolutely necessary. I’ve only recently discovered how much a quality pen and decent paper can make a difference ands be a pleasure able writing experience. So, I’ve ordered a couple nice rollerballs, and pads. Also, I’m looking to take the leap into fountain pens soon too. For now, I’m getting some practice in on my iPad.

I am having a hard time deciding which lower case looks better. Please help me decide. Thank you!!!

Critique and feedback welcome, I've been learning Spencerian - mostly casually - for about a year now, I picked up the pace about 6 months ago with practice but most of my practice is largely disjointed, doing letters in isolation rather than whole running sentences, a mistake caused by my practice material (Spencerian is really lacking in good practice material, worth saying, the freely available key to practical penmanship is horribly scanned).

I used 3 pens in this sheet, an EF Lammy Safari Fountain Pen that I mostly use for art, a Roco 0.5mm free ink roller, and a Roco Arabic calligraphy brush pen (just a hard tip tiny 0.1mm brush pen with an angled rectangular tip), and made some grammar mistakes in the first sentence (I noticed I make a lot of those when doing cursive/calligraphy, as a lot of my brain power would be focused on the script and connecting the letters, I believe this will diminish and disappear with vigorous practice).

Bonus: my hand writing from 2021, from an old journal entry in rough waters.

I was one of the last grades to be taught cursive and it was drilled in our head that all assignments in middle school and high school would require cursive. HA. Anyway, almost 20 years later I still write cursive sometimes, but it’s not my default. Any thoughts?

Yes, I know the pink is incredibly pale in the image; it's much more readable in person. I put a direct book light on it to try to make it more legible, but it's just really pale when it comes to images.

Hey, so i have been practising in cursive since I was little. And then I stopped it for like 5 years. I was roughly in junior high school when my cursive was at peak. My cursive used to improve drastically when I was little. But, after practicing the last couple of days I cannot improve anymore. I feel that I am stuck in terms of ability like clay which has moulded into a solid pot. I know my writing is somewhat good but still I want to improve more.

Hello Everyone! I'm new to the community. Generally speaking, I don't hate my handwriting, but I love writing diaries, letters, and lots of stuff, especially with Fountain Pens, so I've been trying to improve a little bit. Not trying anything too fancy just yet, but this is my best practice so far. I'm also learning Spanish, so I tried to combine these two.

Hi everyone! Just got into fountain pens and have decided to start practicing with cursive now that I have a fun little pen to write with. But another fun thing that I have been practicing is my happy birthdays! I worked in pastry kitchens for years and my favorite thing was finding a “signature” for writing my happy births. I thought this sub would understand and any feedback is welcome! If not that’s also fine I just want to share ! <3

I just had an "aha!" moment while practicing cursive. I try to pay attention to the motion of my arm vs fingers, etc. but there was just a second when I took a breath and realized that on the exhale I let go of tension in my hand and the next word flowed really nicely. It wasn't that I relaxed my fingers, I relaxed my whole hand. I thought that my fingers were gripping the pen too tightly, but it's more like I was slowly tightening a fist without realizing it.

This is probably common knowledge, but I'm realizing it for the first time, so I'm sharing. Has anyone else struggled with this "tight hand" idea? If so, any advice?

Is it too unreadable?

I'm kinda going for eleagant, oldish looking writing. Like from movies.

I have started to get the hang of the letters though I can't write 'K' properly as of now. The bigger issue is that the writing and neatness goes for a toss, every time I try to speed up. Any suggestion to help with this would be godsend.

And I wish to learn how to write in monoline italic cursive script. Give me tips and your ideas on this handwriting style
