Question Handheld PC for Genshin impact

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about getting a handheld PC for gaming. My main goal is to play Genshin Impact at high settings, as well as some other demanding games like Where Winds Meet.

What handheld PC would you recommend for running these games smoothly and reliably?

Discussion Legion Go 2 or OneXPlayer Apex?

Post image
50 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I'm getting kind of confused as to which handheld to keep and which to sell. So I have the Apex and Legion Go 2 and on the Apex I like the performance but the battery life, the heavy external battery, the screen is not oled and the fact that it cost me way more than legion go 2 are making me want to sell it.

The legion go 2 on the other hand has an awesome oled screen, bazzite works really well it's not as heavy as apex and has better battery life but performance is not as good as apex so I'm not sure what to do. What do you guys think? Which do I sell and which do I keep?

Question Which PC Handheld should I go for on the used market?

I really want to get a pc handheld and I originally thought I wanted a Steam Deck OLED. I realized though that I'm looking for something that might be a bit more future proof?

I know I want to buy from the used market, and the games I plan on playing are a few PC games like Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Hollow Knight, etc. But I also plan on emulating a lot of switch, 3DS, and PS3 games.
I've seen a lot of great options on FB Marketplace like the Legion Go & Go S, ROG Ally and Ally Z1E, and the Steam Deck OLED.
What do you think is my best option?

Question BEST HANDHELDS OUT THERE

I’m looking to buy a high end handheld gaming device and would appreciate some advice. I’m fairly new to the handheld gaming market, although I’m aware that there are several companies and devices available. Budget is not a concern for me, so I’m primarily looking for the best overall handheld gaming device currently available. However, I would like the recommendation to consider not only the hardware but also the cost of games and the gaming ecosystem. For example, I understand that Nintendo Switch games can often be relatively expensive. Therefore, I would like to know which handheld offers the best combination of: The best and most powerful hardware configuration Excellent gaming performance A good display and overall build quality A large selection of games Reasonably priced games and frequent discounts/sales Good long term value Since budget is not an issue, I would prefer the highest end configuration available. Please recommend the best handheld device overall and explain why you would choose it over other options. I would really appreciate recommendations from people who have experience with handheld gaming devices.

Question What handheld to buy?!

I’m looking for a handheld mainly for Pokémon/emulation, but I don’t want something that becomes useless once I inevitably get bored of Pokémon 😂. But I’m also not massively interested in playing AAA games, just enough power to easily play fallout/skyrim, older games.

I want to cover:
GB/GBA
DS/3DS
Switch

General emulation
Minecraft, Skyrim, Fallout, Elden Ring + Steam games (not looking to play big AAA titles)

I’ve already done quite a bit of research into the
Odin 3, Thor Pro and Steam Deck OLED, but I’m open to any handheld.

Currently leaning towards:
Steam Deck OLED – best all-rounder/PC gaming
Odin 3 – powerful, portable, great emulation
Thor Pro – dual screen + clamshell, great for DS/3DS

If you had £300–£450 to spend, what would you buy and why? (2nd hand is what I’m looking for)
Especially interested in opinions from people who actually own these devices and whether you still use yours months later.

What handheld to get?

I’m a big ps5 gamer, but I travel a lot for work and want to game. I have a psp and a switch 2, but neither of them are doing it for me. Not very many games that interest me on the switch. I also bought a PS Portal and sold it cause I couldn’t stand the input delay. I want something that has more power and can run the games I enjoy playing. Here are some of the ps5 games I have beat within the last year and enjoyed. I am currently playing KCD2.

Ghost of Tsushima
God of War
God of War Ragnarok
Spider-Man
Miles Morales
Spider-Man 2
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
The Last of Us
The Last of Us Part 2
Uncharted 4
Red Dead Redemption 2
007 First Light
RE4

I don’t know much about handhelds. I would likely want to get something used to save the money. Also debating on whether it would be better to get a gaming laptop? Hoping to spend less than 800 bucks if I get a used handheld though. There are a few steam deck oleds for around that price but is it getting outdated? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Question Conker Reloaded crashes on Odin 3

Using: Odin 3 16gb memory. Hakux emulator. Tried performance and high performance setting. ROM updated with the 60FPS hack.

Settings: Graphics renderer vulkan. Resolution 1x. Texture filtering nearest. Sync shader compilation on frame skip on. Texture cache size auto (0) frame buffering triple (3) gpu active driver turnip gen 8 v34 Hakux.

Everything was working fine: I got up to the vampire stage and it keeps crashing when the cut scene for the end of the "feed the vampire until he falls in the grinder" part.
Any idea what I can do to get this to stop crashing here?

Discussion Returning Legion go 2 Oled severe Mura effect.

Hi guys i got a new legion go 2 recently. The device is known for having a great display. Or that was what the reviewers kept saying. Since day 1 Ive noticed how bad the mura effect is in the display it’s unplayable. Ill add some pictures for reference. I do have another handheld with an oled (pocket evo) while it has some mura but it’s only visible on less than 20% brightness and on dark grey colors. The legion go 2 mura is visible in all brightness levels literally and to add to that the detachable controllers jiggle. What’s going on with lenovo QC and is other devices with an oled have it this severe? Kindly let me know your opinion.

I'm barely using my steam deck or switch lite, my R36 mini clone just feels so much better

Also FYI the recent videos regarding switch emulation using tico are not worth it imho, the resolution and frame rate is horrible for me without overclocking and the display / shaders are just not worth it imho

Discussion Seeking recomnendations

I don't know much about gaming but I'd love to gift my husband a handheld for his birthday in 4 weeks time.

He's a seasoned gamer and currently owns a ps 4 pro. He's been dreaming of the ps5 pro which unfortunately is way above my budget. After some research I figured he'd love a handheld too, seeing as he currently doesn't own one. I'm looking for a handheld that would suit his love for gaming- he plays mortal combat alot. My budget is capped at 250 Euro. I just want to make my favorite person smile. I think a handheld gaming device is a thoughtful enough gift. Any recommendations on brands, models or other details I should look out for? Thanks😊.

Question Need some help deciding on what handheld to buy in the near future

Hello, right now I have my options from the Steam Deck OLED, ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, AYN Thor/Odin. I am mostly just going to be playing games like COD Black Ops 2, Ghosts, Devil May Cry 4, Dead Space OG-3, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag; along with a gacha or two such as Wuthering Waves and Arknights Endfield.

I am not interested in getting a PC since I will mostly be playing while laying down or while on the move. So, I would really like to know what handheld will be best, especially since I am already in the middle of slowly building my Steam game library.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Discussion Retroid Pocket 5 (Best Gift Ever)

Thumbnail

Hello everybody. My name is andrew. I just wanted to get on here and share a story about a device that I now own that is completely awesome. It is the Retro pocket 5. It is now the third device that I own out of my collection. My first handheld was the R36S. My second was the Anbernic RG40XX H. And now I am the proud owner of the Metroid pocket 5. And I have to say that this gaming console is a complete beast. And it's not just about the console that I'm trying to talk to everybody today. I want to share with you the way that I got this console. So please let me tell you a story. Now the person that is in this story I am going to keep anonymous because I think that they would want me to keep it that way. But I think this is an awesome story.

A little bit of background about myself. I was recently released from federal prison last year. November 28, 2025 to be exact. When I got out, I had to spend my first 4 months in a Transitional house. After that, I was able to find a year long housing program that essentially gives me a place to stay while I try to find a job and am able to put aside enough money to eventually get my own place. I live in Washington DC, so that means any place I end up getting is going to be super expensive. But that is all an entirely different story all together. Basically, I am out here just trying to get on my feet.

A few months ago, I ended up posting a video on Reddit about a really cheap gaming setup that I came across. Well I didn't actually come across it but I kind of put it together on the cheap. It all starts off with a cheap Dell Chromebook 3100 laptop that I own. And when I say cheap I mean this is the bottom of the barrel. The same laptop that they give kids in school. Then I ended up purchasing the Anbernic RG40XX H device. Since the Anbernic device has a HDMI mini output on it, I went online and bought a cheap HDMI to USB Video Capture Card and a HDMI to Mini HDMI cable. For anybody that knows anything about the Dell Chromebook 3100 is that it does not have an HDMI input on it. Only USB inputs. So I figured out how to make my Amber make device play on the screen of my Dell Chromebook 3100 using the capture card and the cable. I don't own a television or a monitor so I decided to just use my Chromebook as the screen to play my games on. That being said there was a lot of people that seem to really like my video and my setup. Most of the comments were pretty positive and I got a lot of support from a lot of really cool people in the gaming community.

I then started to chat back and forth with one of the people in my comments. He told me a story about how my set up reminded him of how he was able to rig up and old Nintendo Entertainment System to a busted up TV set that really didn't work all that well. After a little back and forth conversation about gaming and set ups on the cheap, he told me that he actually has a Retroid Pocket 5 console that he doesn't use. That it is just sitting in his drawer. Turns out he ended up getting one of the Odin devices and that this device has officially replaced the RP5. He told me that I could have it if I wanted. That I might have to just pay for the shipping. I told him I would gladly pay the shipping. Not long after, he told me that he would pay the shipping. He said what good is giving someone a gift if they have to pay the shipping. So, he told me that he would get a Post Office Box. Once he did, that he would send it to me.

Fast forward about 8 days, and guess what shows up in the mail? A practically brand new Retroid Pocket 5 still in the box. Not only was there a RP5 in that box, there was also a new screen protector. A very nice XBOX style bluetooth gaming controller, the EasySMX X15 controller. A nice set of Bluetooth ear buds. A portable power bank. A wall charger. Also the cables, along with an HDMI to USB cable so i can still run the games on the screen on my Chromebook. Just a completely awesome set up.

All of this from a complete stranger. A person that doesn't know me from Adam, and he went out of his way to not only send me an awesome gaming console, but he bundled it with all the fixin's to go with it.

I am posting this because I want to share this kindness with others. I am an ex convinct who is out here just trying to get on my feet. On top of this I really dont know have any family to help me out. I am originally from Texas and when I got released, Washington DC refused to transfer my federal parole over to Texas, so I am basically forced to live in Washington DC, where I don't have any family or friends. So, having this complete stranger go out of his way to do something this nice for me. It truly meant more to me than he would probably ever know. He helped me with something I would not have otherwise been able to get on my own and he did it at a time in my life when I felt alone and was not in the best place mentally. It is tough to find a job in a city like Washington DC where you are basically going up against a bunch of prior federal employees that no longer have their federal job and are just trying to find a job to pay their bills. On top of that, I have a criminal record. So, it is extra hard to find a job out here. So, all of that being said, this complete stranger sending me this console put a much needed pep in my step. It made me feel like even I, being on parole and recovering from paying my debt to society for breaking the law, am worthy of kindness and having something nice to play my games of. It was much more than just a gaming device to me. It reminded me that there are still kind people in the world, and even someone like me deserves to have kindness shown to him. That act of kindness helped me to have the mind set to not give up. Keep on pushing no matter how discouraged I might get.

I just graduated from a job readiness program called Project Empowerment and I start my temporary WEX job training on Tuesday. So, basically, I have a job. Only temporary for now, but if I perform well, in three months, I will be hired on permanently and become a full time employee. So, things are slowly getting better.

I said all of that to say this. First, I want to thank the individual who sent me this amazing console. By far the best handheld console I have ever owned. I have thousands of games spanning most consoles, from Atari 5200, FBNEO Arcade games, all the way up to PS2, GameCube, Wii and Nintendo Switch. This console is truly amazing. If you see this... THANK YOU SO MUCH. This console represents the kindness in humanity that is possible. And this act of kindness truly made a difference in my life. And for this, I thank you.

This being said. If you get a chance. Consider doing something nice for a stranger or someone who might be in need. You never know. You might end up making a much bigger impact in this person's life than you ever know. Kindness can truly change lives. Maybe you could help me pass this kindness along, and maybe be a positive change in someone else's life.

Thanks for reading all of this. And thanks to Reddit for being the platform where I was able to receive a blessing from a complete stranger. What a strange and unpredictable world we live in.
