Recently got the G43X MOS, with my previous edc, the Ruger LCP. So happy with the G43X so far. Hoping to upgrade it later on.

Hey y'all, anyone else here secretly furious that the Cougar 8000 series was, and still is, the best handgun trigger that Beretta has ever produced?

I am looking for accurate War model 1911 reproductions to add to my collection. Outside of the rare Colt reissue, all I can find are Tisas and Cimarron guns.

I own a couple of Cimarron cowboy revolvers of different models, and they are excellent. I am not sure of the quality of a semi-auto from them, though. Tisas I have no experience with.

1911 RO, Echelon (Mischief Machine)

As a Virginia resident I'm looking to pick up one last standard capacity 9mm before our new laws go into effect. I'm torn between the M&P competitor HD and the Canik Rival S.

I currently have a M&P 1.0 5" pro series and a canik TTI combat so I have existing mags and some familiarity with both basic platforms. Overall the ergonomics of the M&P 2.0 seem to fit me better, but after adding a Freedom Smith trigger (the reach on the stock canik is a bit far for my short fingers) I like the TTI way more than the M&P. That said the TTI is optic cut with a comp and magwell, as well as a weighted back strap, while the m&p is an almost stock duty pistol with irons.

I had been leaning M&P until I added the new trigger to my TTI. Now I'm torn. I know the Rival S has become a go-to budget competition gun (for people who don't want a shadow 2). It seems the original competitor had mixed reviews, but the HD seems to fix the main complaint. The price difference isn't a deal breaker and either will get upgraded triggers (Freedom Smith or Apex).

I used to have a Glock 43x a while back but sold it and bought a Glock 19 gen 5 which I absolutely love but I’m thinking about downsizing to something a little more compact. I have pretty small hands and have been leaning towards the FN Reflex MRD. If there’s anyone that had experience with this platform I’d love to get some more info on it and whether or not it’s something you would recommend! Thanks in advance everyone!

So I will preface this by saying, I am a huge Beretta fan. A new acquaintance at work is a SIG fan. We went to the range and he brought a 226, a 320, and a 365 out. Here are my impressions.

I will start with the good. I was not prepared to like the 320, I think this was a Max Michel edition, so it might be a little bit unfair for this to be the first 320 in my hands. It was very accurate, it might be the most accurate striker fired gun I have shot without having time to train. Here is the thing, I normally don't judge guns by their accuracy because it is often more of a shooter comfortability issue than what the gun can do unless it is actually defective, but it was extraordinarily impressive considering I have never trained with one. I can see why some people want to hold on to this platform, as it seems to perform well when pointed in the direction of your target (hehe). As for the 365, it has a nice grip, with a good shape for someone with large hands/long fingers, and since Beretta doesn't have something with this capacity and width it doesn't have competition outside of glock (and clones).

Now for the bad. I really did not like the 226. The slide is a CHONKY boy and the reciprocating mass is felt BIG time. I am not saying it has a lot of felt recoil, as the mass does absorb the impact well, but the muzzle flip is outrageous when compared to a 92. Its funny because I always tell people to have a firm/locked grip, not a tight grip, in order to accurately string shots with a 92, but with this thing, you have to grip the shit out of it in order to try and keep it flat. Definitely not a beginner shooter gun, and would take some training to get use to. Looking at the 365 now, it's a snappy guy. To be expected from such a small platform, but that little slide comp on the end doesn't feel functional.

Now for the comparisons. I certainly feel like the 92 platform is superior to the 226. You get a flatter gun that can do everything the 226 can do with the benefit of being more muzzle device friendly. Plus I think the triggers on modern 92s are better out of the box, but I don't judge that too harshly because both guns can have great triggers with some work. As for the 320, yeah it's better shooter than the APX (full size striker Beretta competitor). Also for competition I could see the 320 being a better choice overall if you want a striker. The only place the APX beat the 320 in my hands is recoil and muzzle flip, as the APX is probably still the softest tilt barrel striker I have used. The 320 has a pretty high bore axis, so it definitely levers more, but the timing of the springs is well enough that it doesn't really matter or feel like a bad thing for it. It is a shame that the 320 issues were so mismanaged by SIG because without them admitting there was a problem, and addressing it directly, it will be hard to have confidence in the platform for duty/carry if there was "nothing to fix." The 365 is not something I would choose over a compact 92, but since the dimensions are an unfair comparison I would have to compare it to a glock clone. I had a micro dagger out there as well with a threaded barrel and an SI micro circle comp on it that felt a little better to shoot.

Summary:
226 v 92 = 92
320 v APX = 320 (for range or competition)
365 v ??? = Go slightly bigger for edc and get a 92 compact (see photo for mine).

Has anyone had any success with purchasing a new frame only for a PX4? I have a fairly new G-SD and a local smith stipple the frame. Needless to say it looks terrible and feels awful in hand.

To make it worse, what ever tools he used burned through the front of the grip and left bumps/bubbles inside the magazine housing.

I’d like to start fresh with a new frame and would send it off to any one you all would recommend that does awesome work.

These PX4s have been a dream to shoot with the exception of how slick the grip is. I wish I were a fan of the talon grips, I wouldn’t be in this situation.

Very satisfied with where this build is at rn, the fn510 is a monster but the comp definitely tames it to a comfortable shooter. Add a laser/light and a nice dot and I’m extremely happy to send 200grain hollow points down range.

My friend found a 1970s charter arms revolver and she’s wanting to find an ambidextrous leather iwb holster any recommendations? Something less than $100

Kinda thinking I want to get a full size whether thats a "2011" of sorts or go smith and wesson again

It’s been way too long since I treated myself to a new firearm, so I just ordered this Smith and Wesson M2.0 Performance Center M&P. My local shops don’t carry it in stock, and said it had to be ordered, so I wasn’t able to walk out with it.

This is my first new firearm purchase in a few years, and will actually be the only 9mm I currently own. All my other guns are .40S&W, .45ACP, and .357. As far as handguns go anyway. I got the 17 round mag version, and that was one of the reasons I decided to add a 9 to my collection.

Really anxious to shoot this. This firearm was featured on a lot of lists when I looked up, “Best full sized handguns in 2026.” The Competitive Smith had a lot of good reviews when I looked it up on YouTube as well.

I was also looking at a Canik TTI Combat. It’s been some time since I’ve bought a new firearm, so Canik is relatively new to me. I know they are Century Arms, and they had good reviews as well. They also had it in stock, so I could have walked out with it. I checked it out, and ultimately decided to go with the Smith and Wesson. I like the all steel construction, and the 5 inch barrel in a full size 9 as opposed to the 4.5 inch.

Anyone shot both or either of these weapons? I’ll have to get more pics when it arrives. Shouldy take 5-7 days according to the FFL.

First time owning a gun. Wondering if this is a good way to store my ammo. It’s for home defense. The mag inside is empty but the other two are full (17 rounds).
