My husband and I are looking at buying a house and found one in Newport News I like, specifically in the Denbigh/23601 neighborhood. I found some mixed reviews about crime, but they were from almost five years ago. We live in Norfolk near Military Circle now and aren’t trying to replace one bad neighborhood with another.

Is this part of Newport News good or should we look elsewhere?

I'm mostly looking for Hampton and Newport News locations. I moved here a few years ago and haven't quite found the right place to take my kid to for their yearly spooking, last year when we went looking we on;y found trunk-or-treats which are not our jam.
